... cleverly disguised as Tuesday 4!
Don't worry -- I'd never heard of Dark Academia before, either!
Annie tells us, it's "a popular trend in home decor and mood background music ... based on novels set on old university campuses that have secrets, love affairs, mystery and the scenes and mood these novels evoke. Velvet sofas, old books, Victorian wallpaper, deep high-back chairs, antique photos and painting, candles, romantic lighting and classic music are all part of it."
She asks,
Does this picture evoke any feelings in you? If so, share what they are please. What is the mood it sets for you.
Peaceful, easy feelings ... anticipatory!
I wouldn't want to decorate my home in this fashion, yet I've fantasized about strolling this sort of neighborhood.
A few months ago, in fact, I asked AI to make me a picture based on a half dozen descriptive words. These are what it delivered.
Put yourself into this scene. Where are you going?
Do you have a companion or are you going to meet someone? Who is it?
I'm strolling alone.
In a little while I'll meet an old friend at the pub. Meanwhile, this atmosphere lends itself to introspection.
Using your imagination describe who and what you find inside the foreground building. It is a restaurant, library, academic building, a home?
I'm thinking it's an exclusive boutique hotel.
Not exactly my type. Then again, I'm probably not among their target demographic!
Want to join me?
Hugs, Myra

I enjoyed reading your answers today. This was a fun one this week.

DeleteThe picture is scary to me, I think I would be too afraid to stroll it alone. lol
ReplyDeleteI'll bet your forever date (Mr. D) would hold your hand.

DeleteI agree with Mary; I would not walk alone in such a dark street. Imagine if you met an alien from outer space who can't speak English. What then? Or a ghost from Christmas past complaining that the battery in his electronic tablet has run down; what would you do then? Where could he re-charge his battery? Do all ghosts speak in English? What if you could not communicate in his language? And all because you wanted to hear Al Martino in a pub. Better to go to You Tube, I think.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
LOLOLOL. Just imagine!
DeleteI've read some other Tuesday 4 blogs today, and it's so interesting to see how different people envision such a plethora of interpretations. Wow, y'all are a diverse group to say the least! Your AI generated photo is alluring, too. Don't think I'd be walking those streets alone though. Dark, rainy and just a tad foreboding.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Myra!
I was thinking the same thing, Martha. How differently we regard things! I guess that's human nature.
DeleteForget being dark and dreary! If the building housed a Michelin Star restaurant, I would be running, not walking, to it.
ReplyDeleteOoooh, yes!
DeleteThe Al Martino song fit beautifully!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteBecause the street lights are mellow and just add to the picture, I don't get the chilly, dangerous feeling. I like your description of going to the pub and the smells of old leather and smokey embers.
ReplyDeleteI think I too am waiting for a friend I haven't seen in years. We will chat by firelite for hours.
Maybe have a pint and then eat some comfort food. Once there I wouldn't want to leave to eat somewhere else. the intimate mood would be broken.
Sue
That sounds delightful!
DeleteThose are interesting questions and pictures. Your answers were great!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debby!
DeleteI found it a bit exciting and intriguing as well Myra! Maybe I'm the friend you are meeting!! This was fun!
ReplyDeleteWouldn't that be fun?!
DeleteOh what fun! I guess I'm a little nervous about walking there alone, so hopefully we can meet quickly and get inside and enjoy the evening and then depart together as well! You did a great job with the AI photos. I've never tried that before. Guess I'm still a little nervous about artificial intelligence... I think it already knows too much! LOL. Thank you for playing along with this. It was fun!
ReplyDeleteOkay then -- how about if Terri and I walk on each side of you? (*grin*)
DeleteI will take a walk with you there. LOL
ReplyDeleteSo, send me an email if you will how you made that photo with AI? How did you get to AI?
I think that was really cute.
More the merrier!
DeleteI originally used Bing.com ... but Microsoft has a freebie. I sent an e-mail, but it's called imagecreator.
wow, my answer on Pam's blog was my first thought when i saw the photo was. Jack the Ripper and this is not a street I would walk down alone...
ReplyDeleteopposites do attract evidently.
I made a similar photo to yours when AI first appeared.
I laughed out loud at your e-mail just now. Yes, you're the MadSnapper responsible for igniting my imagination!
DeleteToo scary for me, I’m afraid!—-Cheerful Monk
