1. Outside?
Oh man, somebody must have really PO'd Mother Nature! I can't remember ever hearing thunder so loud. It shook the whole house. When the power went out, someone even had an accident. (And it wasn't me!)
2. Thankful ...
...that son told me about SA Apparel.
"Buy one mask for $20 and get 4 free."
Made in the U.S.A. ... woot!
Granted, they're pretty thin, but I love not having to fasten anything behind my head or behind my ears.
I put it around my neck, then just pull it up over my mouth/nose when I'm going inside the grocery.
3. In the kitchen ...
Now that I've finally got over my fear of the InstantPot, I've been on a fresh veggie kick.
4. Oh, my goodness!
So, after my doctor's appointment Tuesday morning we took a little ride to see Autauga's Sunflower Fields!

It was so hot and heavy, Tom chose to put up his feet.
One of the workers told us, as the flowers begin to grow, they follow the sun. But once they've bloomed they all face East. Interesting!
5. Made me smile ...
One of my 'old lady friends' shared this text message:
"A lady contacted me because she had crates of vegetables to donate to our Loaves and Fishes ministry. Her directions were -- 'Go to the town of Slap-out and I'm right by the caution light.' Gotta love living in the South! Honestly, I do love it here!"
Me, too, Sally. Me, too.

DeleteWe do peppers and onion on sausage all the time! I will have to try it in the Instant Pot! I am looking at those masks. Joe hates the ones that go around his ears... always pulls out his hearing aids. Thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteEasy-peasy, Terri. I just browned the sausage on the pot's saute function, added a little chicken broth and a can of diced tomatoes ...then dumped the veggies on top and set the pressure cooker for 25 minutes. Yum!
DeleteOK I gotta say, that hoagie looks DELICIOUS! Nothing makes me smile more than acres of sunflowers looking the same direction, I love it.

DeleteGood for you for cooking things in the Instant Pot! We have yet to use ours; seriously I'm thinking of selling it LOL. The veggies look great with the added bonus of the sausages! Who can resist? LOL with Tom's modeling of the masks. Those do seem like they would be comfortable. 116 degrees today here; broke a record!

DeleteGlad you visited so I could come on over and discover your Blog! I like the Blog Games, it makes me feel participatory in the Topics, even if just in my own Head to decide how I'd answer. After looking at your Style of Face Mask, I could use my Dreadlock Turbans in much the same way actually, they're tubular strong Fabric and I have a lot of jazzy ones to match my Wardrobe... becoz my Ears are already suffering from the Face Masks with Ear Loops and being a Diabetic, I can't afford Skin lesions that could refuse to Heal.

DeleteBeautiful sunflowers, and that mask is quite the creation. I do agree that Tom has it pulled up way to high, though. :) Yes, here in the south, we certainly have some unique and original names for places. Call it quirky, but I love it!

DeleteWe both love Italian sausage and we both love Peppers but I never thought of cooking them and put him on the Italian sausage which I will do the next time we have it well maybe not the next time because I've got sauerkraut he wanted sauerkraut on on his. We both love red and yellow peppers and those look divine. I read the name slap out in a book and I looked it up and it is a name of a town. I kind of miss those type directions. We had a lot of that in Kentucky. Drive past the Second Baptist Church and make a right by the Big Red Barn was a common Direction. Here we'd have to say drive by 101 gas stations and 20 churches and make a left haha I wish I could see all those sunflowers I would love to have one or two stocks to stand in my kitchen right now I love sunflowers. Also email me and tell me if those Matthew Vault are hot because I was going to get one for me to wear and I figured since the t-shirt that I cut the sleeves out of that does that same thing as hot that it might be hot to
ReplyDeleteI only 'discovered' peppers recently, and like them in my salads ... but the reds are my favorites. I sent you an e-mail with the product specs ... actually I'm surprised how cool-feeling they are.
DeleteI'm doing some roast veggies today with peppers, onions, summer squash and spinach. All things to make me heart healthy. I love sausage sandwiches but the sausage and the bread are not good for me. So am trying to eat more healthy. I've got some whole grain rice on order. We have a sunflower field here nearby that someone started in memory of their daughter. It's just gorgeous and many go to visit there.

Sunflowers are happy flowers these are pretty.
