1. Do you think the pandemic has had any kind of positive impact on your mental health? Explain.
Gosh, I've vacillated all day!
But I'm going to say, 'yes.' The cloak of you-know-what has made me realize how much time I've wasted -- but now, I'm more appreciative of ordinary blessings. Too, I believe it's brought me closer emotionally - if not physically - to my blogger family and Bible-study friends.
2. A hot mess, hot under the collar, in hot water, hot button, hot diggity dog, hot shot, hot seat ..... choose one and tell us how it applies to your life currently.
A Hot Mess!
That's the way I was feeling, cooling my heels in the E.R. this morning. Yesterday and again this morning, I was experiencing some cardiac unpleasantries - so we opted to take the ride and get checked out.
Nearly 5 hours later they finally let me go, but made me promise to see the cardiologist next Monday for additional tests.
Gotta say, it felt really, really weird walking out down that hallway and counting 11 occupied stretchers lined up, each awaiting a room. And this is a relatively small hospital! Soon as I walked in the house it was clothes in the washing machine and me in a HOT shower.
3. Speaking of the hot seat, do you work well under pressure or do you actively avoid high pressure situations?
Absolutely not. High pressure was a big factor in my decision to quit my part-time job last Fall.
4. Hot dogs -- yay or nay? If you said 'yay', how do you like yours? Did you know July is National hot dog month?
If my Chicago native hubby reads this, "Sorry ... but nay." (I don't get it, but understand their specialty dogs are legendary.)
I'd rather have a Conecuh sausage or even a brat.
5. Joyce read a list of America's coolest Southern towns. They are: Marfa, Texas, Greenville, South Carolina, Abindgon, Virginia, Athens, Georgia, Bentonville, Arkansas, Florence Alabama, Oxford Mississippi, Abita Springs, Louisiana, Wilmington, North Carolina, Monroeville, Alabama, McMinnville, Tennessee, and Natchez, Mississippi. How many on the list have you seen in person? Which town on the list would you most like to see?
Pretty sure I've passed through Oxford and Natchez, Mississippi but have no recollection. Home to Truman Capote and Harper Lee -- as well as the fictional setting of To Kill A Mockingbird -- I'd pick Monroeville, AL.

I think my mental health has deteriorated during this all because of too much social media. Got to stay off Facebook LOL and the news. Its good though that these times have brought you closer to your Bible study friends and us blogging buddies!
I do like hot dogs. There are several fast food places that serve just hot dogs. We've been to a couple. Very tasty!

This is what I read on-line: "The hole at the end of a pot or pan handle can serve two purposes. While it’s commonly used for wall hanging, it can also hold your cooking utensil so that sauces drip right back into the pan." Plus, it keeps my counter-top clean ... woot!

ReplyDeleteI love Chicago Dogs. We have one Chicago Dogs here in GA that we go to for special treats.
Covid - I think it makes everything stressful - I think mostly things are hurt by it - but I am sure too there must be some good coming from it. I have to trust that.

ReplyDeleteOh, ugh! My 'hair artist' was saying last week she'd had a tooth ache worse than natural childbirth. Praying you get some speedy relief!
DeleteOK.. i had to run in the kitchen, look at my 3 fry pans and check the hole... A. I am pretty sure that hole is for hanging those pots on hooks. B. i tried all my spoons and spatulas and NONE of them fit in the holes on the pans.. C.. if you did that with a spoon or spatula it would drip a real hot mess on the handle to the pan.. I think you may have guessed i just learned this today, or did not learn it. ha ha
ReplyDeleteGreenvile, Athens, Bentonville are 3 I have been to.. would not want to vist them again or go to any listed. right now if I could time travel would love to pop into your town, and a few towns of favorite bloggers for a quick visit. the people, not the towns. I always wanted to ride the Tour of the WEST amtrak train. does that count? I would love to see anything in the wild wild west.
Yup, spot on! What I saw on-line actually featured a LONG narrow wooden spoon. What I wouldn't give to see your face on my front porch!

LOVE hot dogs, that is what we had just after leaving the hospital.
What on EArth. I learned a snake bite REALLY does hurt and starts minutes after the bite. LOL I am fine now and NO pain to speak of.

DeleteI'm sorry you are having problems.but glad you got checked out. Better safe than sorry. I do love hot dogs in many ways but today am making franks and beans to celebrate hot dog day. Also love them wrapped in a biscuit and baked. It's been hot here and so I suppose I'm a hot mess, but will be better after a hair cut I'm getting today. Take care and keep safe! Love and hugs. xoxo

I like hot dogs - but not the cheap ones that are made out of pig snouts and ground chicken beaks.
The Chicago-type hot dogs that I remember had lots of toppings - including tomatoes and pickles. And they were good.
I've been to Marfa, TX - home of the infamous spook lights... and location shots from the movie "Giant" were filmed there.

DeleteYa, I was a little reassured when one of the doctors told me I'd done the right thing by coming in. I can't remember everything Tom said goes on a Chicago dog, but one was celery salt. (Scratching my head.) I've certainly heard of Marfa, but didn't know Giant was filmed there!

DeleteOh my goodness, you take care. I had that ER several years ago. A $3600 blood test I had to have twice after 5 hours from the first revealed my heart muscles were in excellent shape. When the balance of our high deductible insurance arrived - $3600 out of pocket! I nearly needed a hospital again. You take care and get your appt. made. I like all your HodgePodge answers. I love a hotdog, all beef with mustard and sometime chopped onion. I do love a good poppyseed bun but they are hard to come by. There was blogger from Harper Lee's town and she sent me a postcard ages ago. WHen I find my postcard box, I have the plastic sleeves to put them in. I received nearly all our our US States plus a few other countries. I would love to do it again. My friend Carole said today she is going to homeschool her three grandsons! I am praying for her as I think it is fantastic. I don't have much good to say about this pandemic. We have always been very close and I pray "C'mon Jesus" every single day ! I just think God is getting his fill of the wickedness of the world. One of Harrison's grammies just posted a terribly awful post about our president and all her friends replied, I wish he would just die! I hid the post. Not a fan of liberal hate. Interesting how they can be hateful but we are to bow down to them. No NADA NOPE ALOHA HASTA LA VISTA! Hate is horrible and they think absolutely nothing of spewing it! The poor babies living in that household.Makes me very sad. I stay home without a vehicle so much my life is simple and I like it that way. I get my sunshine, I talk with my neighbors, I have lots going on so nothing has changed much for me. :-) Harper Lee will always be a favorite writer for me so I would choose her hometown. HUGS
