Dear Dr. M (dentist),
Your new building's so lovely ..... but what's up with those ceiling tiles' pattern looking like dirty confetti? Boring.
Reclining there with my mouth agape, I was thinking it might be nice to have a television mounted up top playing music videos. Even clips from Funniest Home Videos.
... jus' saying.
Dear Food Manufacturers,
Why are 'Expiration/Best by' dates so hard to find? I don't know how long I stood holding the jar of Alfredo sauce looking but not finding.
"Where's Waldo?"
"Where's Waldo?"
Is it too much to ask that they be stamped in one place?
Dear Chief Meteorologist J,
We all appreciate your candid-yet-calm delivery.
Except. Night before last I heard you say, "I don't like what I'm seeing."
Yesterday you upped our threat level to 4 (out of 5).
Yes, I've prepped our safe room (aka hall bath) and said my prayers.
A playlist to while away the hours? How about ...
Yes, I've prepped our safe room (aka hall bath) and said my prayers.
A playlist to while away the hours? How about ...
"Whenever I feel afraid, I hold my head erect and whistle a happy tune, so one-one will suspect I'm afraid."
Dick Van Dyke's song and dance: "Put on a happy face."
Perhaps, McGuire's "Eve of Destruction"
(nah, too dark)
Now accepting song requests!
📬
God willing and the creek don't rise, let's talk soon!
Hugs, Myra

I would say "Good Vibrations" by the Beach Boys!!! I so enjoyed your letters...Not sure about the confetti ceilings, but the expiration dates, I am with you. funny you mention ceilings at the dentist office..at my gynecologist office there is a huge poster plastered to the ceiling with a big panda bear staring at you. Hope your weather has calmed down. Expecting Sunny skies here today.
ReplyDeleteGreat song, Shug! Your doc must have a great sense of humor. Panda trumps confetti!
DeletePraying you're all OK weather-wise and health-wise too.
ReplyDeleteI agree with a TV in the ceiling at dentists. That's how Michelangelo got his inspiration from when he painted the Cistine Chapel.
Also, I agree that best by dates are often difficult to find. Rather annoying.
God bless always.
Thank you for the prayers, Victor ... I suspect the 24 hours are going to get ugly.
DeleteGlad you have a safe place to go when the weather is bad. It's been on the hot side here's and we've have no storms. It feels like summer and spring hasn't even arrived. The denist office is never my favorite place to go to, no mattrer the ceiling or a TV. Those expiration dates are tricky but important. Hope you have a fantastic day! Love ma
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Ma. I'm keeping a close eye on the radar.
DeleteFingers crossed for you! I’m glad you have your safe place ready, along with things to keep your mind occupied. ❤️
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. My mind's often my worst enemy.
DeleteYou are absolutely right about the expiration dating game. It is nearly impossible to find it - - and when you finally do, it's completely blurry and impossible to read.
ReplyDeleteI just had a flashback about a meteorologist ( Ted Keller) when I lived in Springfield, MO. A tornado was heading directly toward the city. He seemed to be clueless ( or perhaps drunk). He said "It looks like rain".
True story.
Ya think? That's funny!
DeleteOh dear, I pray you don't get any severe weather. Glad you are prepared, but I pray you don't have to use your preparations! Yes, regarding th expiration dates, etc., and yes, also for something relaxing and beautiful to see on the ceilings of dental offices or other places where you have to stare at the ceiling. I hope you have a peaceful and safe weekend.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're right! Unfortunately, they just upped our chances for severe weather to a 5 out of 5. Appreciate your prayers.
DeleteHoping your weekend is peaceful and that you won't have to use that hall bathroom for safety. Glad you have it though.
ReplyDeleteI don't even want to talk about dentists...
Totally agree on the dates and the saga of finding them.
(((hugs)))
Sue
I'd feel better in an underground bunker, but trust God to keep us safe.
DeleteOhhh, hope the weather doesn't get all hot and heavy! Alabama and western Georgia can get rather dicey at times. Usually by the time these fronts reach us it's usually played itself out.
ReplyDeleteIt is almost like the expiration dates (and the ingredients which are often deadly) are in the Witness Protection Program. It's like electrical plugs, why aren't the shapes, the male female prongs, universal!? These things make one ponder and say "Why?!" My mind ... *lol*
Y'all be safe!
Blessings. 🍀
Witness Protection ... lololol!
DeleteThe nasty stuff isn't supposed to hit us until 2 tomorrow afternoon, so I'm praying it's not as bad as they're saying.
That's a good idea for the dentist office. I agree, they are hard to find and years ago they never even had them. Hope all is well with your weather. Have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Debby!
Deleteyou know what I would be singing, all verses the same and easy to remember, The Sky is Falling, The sky is Falling.. by Henny Penny
ReplyDeleteif you get YouTube on the ceiling call me, because that room they did the colon scope thingy had a ceiling worse than dirty confetti. Maybe a way to project my Kindle on a white ceiling, or maybe a remote control that allows us to play our word apps.
A remote control ... yes!
DeleteMy previous dentist was an avid photographer. Most of the treatment rooms had a monitor with a rotating slide show of his work, but one of the rooms had a photo of a hummingbird at a feeder on the ceiling.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea!
DeleteI giggled through your post but I'm with you! Stay safe over there!! Definitely forget The Eve of Destruction!! Hugs & prayers!
ReplyDeleteThe nasty stuff isn't due until mid-afternoon, but sure value those prayers!
DeleteRiders on the Storm by the Doors!
ReplyDeleteI hope you don’t get the weather they’re predicting. My late brothers family lives in the Cullman area. I’ll have to keep watch of their area.
Stay safe. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you!
DeleteI would rather see a tv then a dirty ceiling!
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree about the expiration date.
I hope you don't get any damage from the storm tonight.
Thank you, Sandie!
