Let's see ... if this is Wednesday it must be the gathering of Hodgepodgers. Thank you, Joyce!
Care to join in? I'd love to see your answers!
What impresses you?
Where are you in your family birth order? Do you fit the stereotype of that particular slot? In what way?
I was an only child, which according to Google ...
".... are often labeled as being lonely, unable to form friendships, unwilling to share with others, self-centered, less empathetic and more anxious than those with siblings."
I was definitely lonely. Anxious, too. Sometimes I struggle to share.
To the rest I say, "hogwash!"
What motivates you more: A reward or a consequence? Elaborate.
Definitely a reward.
I've spent too many years regretting the consequences of my actions.
May 14 is National Buttermilk Biscuit Day. Who thinks biscuits deserve their own day? Do you like biscuits? Make your own? Grab one for breakfast at a drive-through now and then? Which drive-through makes the one you like best? What do you like to put on a biscuit? What's your favorite food or dish that calls for buttermilk?
I adore a good biscuit, but don't make them or even buy them so often.
I thought it almost impossible to beat McDonald's sausage and egg biscuit ...
until I tried Chick-Fil-A.
The only time I buy real buttermilk (v. powder) is when I make my mother's banana nut bread. Moist for the win!
Are there any weddings on your summer calendar? What's your favorite part of a wedding/wedding reception?
I'm not aware of any summer weddings.
My favorite part of a reception is the father/daughter dance .... and cake!
Insert your own random thought here.
Hugs, Myra

Love the food truck meme!! I hope you have a great day!
ReplyDelete🤗
DeleteAh yes, unexpected kindness and sacrifice impress me too. Love that meme! Have a nice day!
ReplyDelete🌞
DeleteLOL @ #6. Yes, I love a food truck!
ReplyDelete😋
DeleteLove your random quote! lol I'm not a fan of weddings, but wedding cake can almost make me want to go.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny!
DeleteWhat impresses me (here in the UK) is when a celebrity or someone in the public eye says on TV or radio that they are Christian. It is a very rare occasion. A politician claiming to be Christian would get nowhere over here. Same for a comedian, singer etc ... Only recently a politician was disowned by his own Party for being Christian.
ReplyDeleteWhat you call biscuits in the USA are scones over here. We have scones with jam (Jelly) and clotted cream. What we call biscuits you call cookies. I like the chocolate cookies. Do you remember the Cookie Monster?
I am not motivated by anything ... except cookies.
God bless, Mevely.
That's so sad. More and more "Hollywood" celebrities are publicly 'coming out' as being Christian, but our leftist media isn't so eager to acknowledge.
DeleteLove me that Cookie Monster!
The US is still Christian. I don't think the UK is. Less than 5% of the population (all denominations) attend Church regularly (weekly).
DeleteGod bless.
Born #1 of 2 and grew up lonely, no friends, way overly empathetic to all living creatures, extreme anxiety. born that way? not sure,
ReplyDeleteDo not TELL me to Do or NOT DO anything or suffer the consequences, I lived under the thumb of daddy and God, everything has a consequence. now if you say DO is say will not or vice versus
Woman can live by bread and biscuit and would live that way if not for weight. KFC and Golden Corral are my favorite biscuits or any home made one that I did not make. Mothers were rocks.
See why I like you?!
DeleteI am an only child too. I had wished I had a sibling but rarely felt lonely. I had friends and best friends from church. My folks let me have a friend come with us (during my pre-teen and teen years) when we went camping. I loved that .
ReplyDeleteI don't know if impressed is the right word but I am always looking for Integrity in both word and deed.
I think I would rather have a muffin than a biscuit, especially those Big and dangerously yummy blueberry muffins from CostCo.
I believe that I am willing to share whatever I have and care almost too deeply for others. I don't think I fit the definition too well.
Sue
Integrity ... that's a good one!
DeleteMy parents first child died before I was born so I am the older without being the oldest.
ReplyDeleteWell made biscuits are divine! Right now my favorites are from Bojangles. I see no reason to make them if I can buy ones that are as good or better than homemade.
True that!
DeleteI was a only child for 5 years before my sister ruined everything. hahaha, just kidding. I wasn't all too pleased at first.
ReplyDeleteAll this talk of biscuits has me wanting one.
😆
DeleteI hear ya about the food truck! 😂
ReplyDeleteI went to vote yesterday (second primary) at a local elementary school. The speaker system came on and a child recited the Pledge for the whole school! 💙
I love that!
DeleteI saw in the news this morning that the winner of the Darlington Nascar race took home the American flag from the event and his daughter took it to school the next day to lead a special Pledge of Allegience in her classroom. So touching and patriotic! When I start to think this country is lost, it is examples like this that give me hope for the next generation.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Myra!
Goosebumps!
DeleteLove that last sign!! Yes to the wedding cake!! LOL I agree about the Pledge of Allegiance and think we should all know the words to The Star Spangled Banner. AND The Lord's Prayer could also be thrown into the mix of necessary knowledge!! xo
ReplyDeleteAmen!
DeleteOnly child here too. When I was young I was probably very selfish but it may have been from the abuse as well. Not sure. Anyway, thru much prayer God is teaching me to have more compassion. It's a good way to live, nest-ce pas? 💙
ReplyDeleteBlessed!
DeleteI was the baby out of two.
ReplyDeleteI love patriotic photos too.
I am with you on the reward idea as well.
I love biscuits but I know they are not good for you!
I know, right? That's just not fair.
DeleteI enjoy the comments. Due to the loss of a little brother in his infancy, I am the baby of the family. And YES I was spoiled, I hope my parents were proud of the way I turned out. My end is not what they pictured, but neither did I.
ReplyDeleteGood one.. I enjoy your responses...
Thank you so much! 💛
DeleteI love the things that impress you. I enjoyed reading your answers. I like McDonald's breakfast sandwich but they have gone way up in price. I like a reward too! Love your random. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your answers. I have a few friends who were only children.
ReplyDeleteLove that food truck. Rebekah and Zach have been to the food Truck Festival at che park near our home three times this past weekend. Lol she is a funnel cake girl, mad she did not bring one home! boo hoo. Did you ever read Kevin Leman's The Birth Order? I am the baby and I was spoiled . But my kids think I favor Nick. Untrue being the baby just brings you in close to those who share your birth order. I love my kids but Rebekah is the middle like her daddy, I have to sit on the front porch to catch him before she does at night when he arrives home from work. hahaha. I am the jealous type hahaha! I did not have an friends who were only children, big sLOVEnian families when I was small but my cousin Tommy, 7 years older than me was an only child. He married and had a bigger family, three sons. He and our cousin Sharon were only child kids and she was and still is a terribly mean person. It is so sad. She bossed poor Tommy around so much that after their parents were all gone Tommy cut her out of our lives. I was younger so she never messed with me. But my poor Sis Mary took her abuse. Daddy always defended his girl but my mom defended her sister and her kid argh......Sometime I will have to tell you about the Neil Diamond concert we went to with her, Mary & I. Good Lord we paid for the tickets and she held them like we were con artists. Yelled at my sis for smoking before we went inside and screamed at us that we were not buying at souvenirs. Never went with her again. Hannah always said Markus was difficult because he was terribly spoiled. More stories to share privately but they are funny. Your stories are alwaus enlightening.
ReplyDeleteHa! I love the food truck saying! The precision flying teams impress me too - my favorite part of air shows! Visiting the Hodgepodge late again this week!
