My dad (ca 1914/15)
Sam chose this week's song in honor of Father's Day. You can hear it here. Want to play along? Just click!
Paul McCartney has said that "Beautiful Boy" is one of his favorite John Lennon solo songs. What's yours?
I'm not especially fond of John Lennon's music -- but have been known to sing along (albeit poorly) to 'Woman' or 'Starting Over.'
Lennon wrote this for his son, Sean. Father and son share an October 9 birthday. Does anyone in your life share your birthday?
I don't think so, no.
John asks Sean to take his hand before they cross the street. Name another song that references holding hands.
Stranger in Paradise
Today Sean Lennon is in his late 40's. He lives in Greenwich Village, creating art and music from his elaborate home-based music and film studio. Are you into the latest in electronics?
That's above my IQ .... and pocketbook, too!
In Thailand, Father's Day is observed on the birthday of the current King. Are you celebrating any birthdays this month?
We went out for supper night before last to celebrate Leon's 79th special day.
(Because he's had a heart transplant, lucky guy celebrates two birthdays!)
Of course, I'd be remiss if I didn't wish my dad a happy Heavenly birthday on the 27th.
Crazy Sam vividly remembers her long-ago high school days when her father gave her driving lessons. Do you consider yourself a good driver?
Yes, but probably more cautious than is necessary.
Sam's dad is a stickler about car maintenance and reminds Sam to change her air filter regularly so her a/c and heater can run efficiently. Share a car maintenance tip.
Find a good, honest automotive shop!
When he fills up the car, Sam's father also stocks up on his favorite candy: Life Savers. He always has a bag in the glove compartment. What's something you don't leave home without?
My cell phone.
Hard to believe, I used to gallivant everywhere without one. Now, I'm likely to turn around and go back home for it.
Random question: How long can you go without checking your phone?
An hour, maybe?
(I could, but wouldn't like it!)
Happy weekend, everyone!
Hugs, Myra

You're so right about finding an auto shop you can trust. I feel the same way about my handyman.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone shared my birthday I'd have a twin I did not know about.
ReplyDeleteThe Beatles - YES. Paul McCartney - YES; but I never liked John Lennon solos.
Best wishes to you and yours on Father's Day. God bless, Mevely.
Find a good automotive shop is really great advice! Loved your answers! Have a nice weekend. ♥

I usually have my phone with me too...not because I expect calls, but in case I need to reach someone. I can easily go a day without checking it.
ReplyDeleteI hope if anyone finds an honest auto mechanic, they will document it, because they are as rare as hens teeth. remember, bob and I both worked Sears Automotive, what a rip off they were, and so is Midas Muffler, i had to catch my breath from ROFLMAO before i could type.
ReplyDeletenot a beatles fan, they were after my time, already had kids and no time for music. I take my cell, debit card, drivers license and 2 20dollar bills each time I leave home. for saftey reasons, not to use it. I don't text/talk or do anything with it but I did have to calll AAA for a flat once.
Happy birthday to your Dad in heaven, we have no BD in any months but Feb, Aug, Sept,Oct.
Good auto tip. I have been happy with the people we use on my Toyota, but my husband's Ford truck is a different story.
ReplyDeleteYes to the good automotive shop. I'm blessed to have one of those. How did we manage without a cellphone? It really hasn't been that long ago that only a few folks had those things!! Now everyone has one (or more). Happy weekend, Myra! Love & hugs!
ReplyDeleteOk, so..........I can totally not have my phone, it doesn't bother me, I guess I am freakish like that (Lolololol)...wishing you a beautiful Saturday my friend, smiles.
ReplyDeleteI almost never forget my phone. I mean, remember when pay phones were on every corner? Not that way any more.
ReplyDeleteAnd how cool is it for your friend to celebrate two birthdays. After all, he was given a true second lease on life.
Happy Father's Day to Tom!
That would be my recommendation for a car tip too. I shared a birthday with the Queen Mum, Elizabeth's mom!
ReplyDeletethecontemplativecat here. I have found out that having a phone is necessary. We feel like we can get help from our daughter.
ReplyDeleteI actually like the Beatles, but never remember listening to the individuals. My dad did teach me STRICT PM for a car. His stickler was Oil change on the dot, with little lee way.
ReplyDeleteWe laugh at times at the cell phones, I call them our leash.
Always good to stop here for a visit.
Love from us who are just waiting..... not very patiently....
Sherry & jack
Have a great weekend! I haven't heard much of the Beatles...after my time. ❤️
ReplyDeleteI have to have my phone. I take a lot of pictures and play Word with Friends. My bible study and crafting groups are on there and so much more. I am trying to not be on it an hour before bed.
ReplyDeleteAll Fathers should be celebrated today. We're doing a triple celebration here. A son and my daughters birthday who share the date, born one year apart and Fathers Day ! The weather is beautiful! Sunny and in the 80's. Hope you are not too hot there! Love, ma
ReplyDeleteI had no idea they celebrate Father's Day on the King's birthday in Thailand! Interesting fact! As always, I really enjoyed reading your answers!
