Happy Friday, y'all!
Ours has been a pretty okay week.
I was excited when Tom suggested we visit Prattville Pickers -- a fun marketplace dealing in vintage and home goods. It recently reopened after being whammied by a twister back in March, and we were more than ready to find some area rugs. (Switching from carpet to ceramic tile sure makes a difference in our home's noise level!)
Unfortunately, their new shipment of rugs is a couple of months away, but we still enjoyed puttering around.

We stopped for a bite at our favorite eatery, where I satisfied my craving for French Onion soup.
Just wish it came with a pair of scissors!
Finally .....
3 months after the fact, I'm still struggling to remember where I set my reading glasses.
But thanks to Dollar Tree, I can put a pair in (almost) every room.
Bend me, shape me, anyway you want me!
Isn't this a novel idea?
I may go back and spend another $1.25 to keep in my car's glove compartment.

Great post...it made me laugh and I think it showed me a little more of your personality and I think we'd get along great. I loved each one of the sayings on the pillows and towels. And I think I may have had to try the hopscotch (depending on how many people were around). I don't think I've ever seen one of those hand wash basins. I thought it was some kind of a urinal. lol I asked hubby if he knew what it was and he said they used to have one in his shop class a school. Well, I guess I'm set for the day, because I learned something new already this morning. Hope you have a great day Myra!

DeleteMy elementary school had two hand washing stations like that outside of the cafeteria! Everyone in the class could wash at once before they entered.

Deletei might need to get bob a couple of these folding glasses, that is so cool and he has one in every room but they get knocked off and are all beat up.
ReplyDeletebob says they had these hand washers in the YMCA we go to, 20 plus years ago, he was going there before i retired. no longer there, he said they have them at the pool dressing rooms at Bray park. i have never seen one. I am always hungry even after I eat. all my life i have been that way

Sorry I have been MIA. Rick has been in the hospital for heart issues. I have had both cataracts taken care of. Hopefully I am back now. lol

That does look like a rug, doesn't it? Someone (with a steady hand) actually painted that on the concrete.
DeleteI do love French onion soup, Myra, but like you, I think it needs to include scissors when served. Longhorn does have a decent French onion soup if you're ever there for lunch. And now, I've never seen a basin like that one, especially one with a pedal. How unique!

DeleteI just about died laughing over that mechanic! I saw a surveillance camera inside a vintage doll's head, once. Of course, not until I had been staring into it's eyes for a good 30 seconds, though! Camera was the real deal! LoL I am so glad y'all enjoyed your day out! ReplyDeleteI like the water fountain. I always wondered why we don't have similar faucets (we call them taps) in our homes. You step on a pedal and you get hot or cold water. Why did I not invent that?
Also, why not have fridges with glass doors? You don't need to open it to find out if there's something nice. You just look and go away.

I can't use those as my eyes need stronger lenses for reading...but my prescription just doesn't seem right to me. Oh well...I must be getting old. I don't think I've ever seen a wash bowl quite like that before, but it is a novel idea! I hope you have a wonderful weekend. This was fun.
