Good morning,
I know by definition this isn't 'shoulder season', but wow. It feels that way -- the lull, the meh which exists between peaks. What-cha say we focus on what my German father used to call schnipples. (Weekly debris, lol.)
So relieved when he assured me the big lump which mysteriously appeared on my lower cheek is a harmless cyst. Unfortunately, I didn't realize my insurance requires pre-approval/authorization for any procedure, so that's tabled. Maybe I'll add this to my next Target list!
I'm going to be serious for a minute.
Looking back to Monday. Bible study. (Yes, Betty, you were right about looking out for hidden gems.) I'm still not crazy for the theme. This time, however, we were divided into smaller groups and asked to consider the 'outsider' -- how do we observe them (and/or) or how does it feel to be one.
I've talked about it before. Because my teen years weren't all sunshine and lollipops, the term 'active ignoring' resonated. I've held it carefully, marveling how the magic of words can nail a feeling so perfectly.
Then Brenda spoke. This, a lady who I've always admired for her poise, her confidence. "Because I was so terribly shy, I bullied myself. Why then, was I surprised when others bullied me?"
Camaraderie arrives in all forms, doesn't it?

DeleteLike you, Myra, I gave up on "properly" folding fitted sheets ages ago. As long as they are folded in some doable way, I'm content. I did enjoy your variety of thoughts and ideas shared here, too. Glad all is A-OK with the dermatologist.

ReplyDeleteWe don't bother folding sheets. We just hide them under the mattress. We now have so many we need a ladder to get into bed and when we wake up we hit our head on the ceiling.
Is there a garlic scented soap anywhere? It would be fun at parties.
Many people often feel shy, lonely and rejected. This is sad. Because they fail to appreciate that they are special. Others may not have realised it; but God surely has.

DeleteI don't fold my fitted sheet...I wash it and put it right back on the bed. The few extra sets I have stay put away unless we have company or we wet the bed or something crazy like that. LOL> They aren't perfectly folded, but they fit in the space wherever they are. Gosh, I've heard there are still people out there who like to IRON their sheets...I don't even iron my shirts or pants or anything unless it is absolutely necessary and I can' get the wrinkles out by drying it in the dryer a few more times...LOL. Anyway, I enjoyed your "Schnipples". I'm afraid I was never shy. Many people probably wish I had been. But I covered up my feelings of insecurity or inferiority by being somewhat loud and talkative. I was born a redhead and had to defend myself all the time. You'd never believe all the mean things people say to redheads, but I convinced myself they were just jealous of my bright red coppery locks and freckles. That's how I coped with the insults of "I'd rather be dead than red on the head", "Carrot top", etc. They were just plain jealous. LOL. I wish I'd known you back in the day. DeleteFitted sheets are the devil's handiwork. I have exhausted every possibility of try to fold them. Lately I just crumple them up and put them in plastic bags. Now that I live alone, my "fancy" days are over. Bosco doesn't care what the sheets look like.

Deletewhen you purchased your weighted blanket, before you stored it under the mattress, I quickly purchased one for bob since his constant complaints of his legs being cold were driving me nuts. he never once used it. I got the twin size. it now belong to Beau and he loves it. in the closet we have a dog bed, on that is the weighted blanket with a sheet and a pillow... he was not sleeping in the closet until the weighted blanket. I think it makes his hip feel better.

DeleteI do not fold fitted sheets, well at least not neatly. And I have absolutely no problem with that. lol So glad the lump is not something serious and I hope your insurance will okay the removal quickly.
