It's been a while!

Happy?
I'm content. And grateful.
For waning summer days ... SEC football ... and soon being able to wear my favorite clothes without sweating putty-balls
The age I am is 72 and the age I feel is
... every minute of it!

Something I have been procrastinating is
... writing a Living Will/Advance Directive
The last thing I purchased was
Besides the usual food and sundries? We found an affordable candy-apple red blender. Its predecessor died mid-shake last week.
The thing I love most about my home is
Like me, it's a bit worn; it could benefit from a makeover. But it's comfortable and filled with those things I love. A peaceful place to kick off my shoes and put my feet up.
My most prized possession
After my father passed, mother had her and her mother's wedding/engagement rings melted down and fashioned into this.
It feels good having a part of them on my finger!
If I could be one age for the rest of my life I would want to be
At 33 I felt my best, I looked my best.
'Just wish I'd been more appreciative of my blessings.
My outlook on life.

Sure, I get down in the dumps -- but that's not a place I like to stay long.

When Caraleigh and I moved to Arizona, away from a great job and friends in Florida.

My favorite meal in the entire world is
Eggs Bubba
So much of lives is filled with the food we eat. Thankfully, I've stayed the same weight for years. All my old clothes still fit. My favorite place is always at home too, where I'm comfortable and cozy. I can say I'm happy to be the age I am, I would want to go back to my younger years as there were so many tough times to get through. Now I feel like a survivor and I thriving as best I can. Love, ma

What is HAPPY?
Fav place is where ever my home is, because I am a homebody person.
Fav place in this home is the living/kitchen room that is 17 x 30 feet. I say I love it every time I walk through it.
I own zero prized possessions unless Beau counts.
Outlook is "paranoia" extreme on any and all things.
Survived my homeless self moving to FL in 1984
Of course, Beau counts! I think being happy for long would feel wearying.

DeleteOh Myra, get the living will/advance directive done now (sooner than later). It will take a big load off your mind and it will be done! We did ours 2.5 years ago and every 3 years we get to update it "free of charge" from the lawyer's group who did it. It is just nice knowing that things are in place so that our stuff (minimal as it is) won't go into probate in any way, shape, and form and people know our final wishes. So make it a definite to do on your "to do list" and get it done :) Love to know your secret that you can consume and not gain weight :) I bet that candy red blender brings a smile to your face when you see it! And who can resist the love of dog(s) and the fun they bring us! Cooler weather is just around the corner! Hang in there (I say that every day here lol :)

No secret about the weight; I just try and adhere to the Keto lifestyle, sans carbs. That's all well and good until I cave like I did the other night and eat pizza!

Oh, a bow-and-arrow is hysterical! I try not to step foot in WalMart any longer and just use their pick-up service. Tom was worried about quality, expiration dates, etc. but so far it's been a win-win. You could check to see if yours doesn't offer that service, too.

DeleteI agree, it does get rather aggravating when people block the aisles when they are just talking. We need to do the living will stuff too.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I'm not sure they even realize they're doing it. Wish we had wider aisles with traffic lanes like the freeway: slower vehicles keep right!

DeleteThis was fun! That eggs bubba looks a bit overwhelming to me, but I bet it is good. I fear it would sit like a lump of lead in my tummy, however, even if it did taste good going down! LOL. The rings! Oh how wonderful to have both them together like that. Very precious. I am blessed to have my mother's wedding/engagement rings and I wear them on my right hand. I also have my MIL's wedding diamonds, which she did something similar to yours...she had the diamonds reset in a wide gold band (they had been two separate rings in white gold), and she gave it to me before she died so she would be sure that I got it and no one else. I love to wear it when I am really dressed up or in memory of her. I feel deeply honored to have them. We did our wills a couple of years ago and gave a copy to our oldest son to keep so he knows what to look for, etc. He will be the executor. I'm thinking we may still have some other details to cover too, but at least the most important part is done. Age? I am the same as you, only a few months difference. And I guess I probably feel my age, but I still can't believe I am this old. Seems like only yesterday I was a teen ager. LOL. I am happy here in my home. It's not perfect, and we need to fix a few things like getting rid of the carpet, but other than that it's comfy and fine for now and we are very thankful to have it. God has been very good to us. I enjoyed your post so much. I always smile when I visit you.

DeleteI laughed out loud about the 3 walking abreast in the grocery aisle! I have fantasized about a horn of some sort - BEEP! Your favorite meal (minus the egg) sounds divine. I don't remember the last time I had biscuits and gravy and chicken fried steak -- my mouth is now watering!

DeleteOh Sunday Stealing, I am really out of the groove. It has been rough with Nick being so ill than all this cancer stuff with our son-in-law Roger. Life is a whirlwind- somedays and then the days that knock you on your butt next! Sigh....thanks for always being a friend :-)
