Let's Eat!

Good morning!

Eating out is one of my favorite things in the world, so how could I not participate in the Tuesday 4!

This week Ann asks ...

Do you like eating out with friends or would you rather have them over for a meal?

Unless it's a holiday, I'll always opt for a restaurant!

Let's go out to eat.  You pick!  Where are we going?

That depends.

Joining me from out-of-town?  Let's head over to historic downtown Wetumpka for some pub fare served with a heavy Southern flair.

We don't eat out very often, but normally I'll suggest Longhorn Steakhouse.

Their comfy booths allow for conversation (without shouting).  I love the heavy cloth napkins and am seriously besotted with their weighted steak knives.

Santa, I'd love to find a set of these under my tree!

What are you going to order tonight?

Salmon, creamed spinach .... perhaps a Tanqueray martini.

Are you going to have dessert?  What will it be?

I wouldn't turn down a slice of cheesecake -- 'to go'.

How about you?

Heck, with the right company, I'd be delighted to break bread at Cracker Barrel or IHOP.  Y'all come on over!

Hugs, Myra

  1. if i go out to eat, i want it to be only me and bob, and its about the food not the resturant or persons.
If I want to chat with a friend, new or old, anywhere is great. Like You and I at Cracker Barrel and I met Lola at Chic Fi La. Lola and I met Barbara at a resturant that is in a TRAIN, a Circus train. that was fun for talking and viewing. I like to meet friends for breakfast as long as it is not McDonalds i am good

  2. Wetumpka... are you talking about Wetumpka, Alabama? There aren't but one of those are there? My sister used to live just outside Wetumpka in Blue Ridge. I'm an Alabama girl myself but my home used to be in Jasper. Small world, isn't it?

    1. Yes, indeed! We tried buying a home there in the historical section, but sadly it failed inspection.

  3. I love your answers. I don't know any of the named restaurants you mention but I'd certainly like the Steakhouse. Pretty well done with French Fries please.

Oh ... and cheesecake to follow.

    Thanx and God bless.

    1. Okay, I'll forgive your 'well done' if you forgive my 'medium rare.' (*grin*)

  4. I do enjoy Longhorn Steakhouse! Always get a good meal there! While the Cracker Barrel is charming (and a favorite of my in-laws but that is another story for another day, lol), my stomach does not always agree with the food I eat there. I don't know if it is too much butter/oil they cook with but it does cause a bit of upset after eating there. I do like IHOP though! Who can resist pancakes. Now I must look up what is in a Tanqueray martini!

    1. True story! My former husband and his family all loved their martinis -- but I'd taste and make ugly faces. Now when I have one I think of them no longer here and imagine them smiling.

  5. I'm with you I'd choose to go out to eat too. I don't get to do it very often and my favorites is Red Lobster. I love seafood and my favorite meal there is the Coconut Shrimp! It's been very good every time I've had it so I usually have that. The kids take me there for my birthday ! I love those steak knives too. They'd be wonderful to have ! Love, ma

  6. Yum! I'm down with any of those choices. I thought I was the only one who paid attention to Longhorn's steak knives. lol

  7. Anyone who can properly use the word "besotted" in a sentence has a special place in my heart (*smile*).

  8. I am like you and would meet friends at just about any restaurant, take-out, or dive. After all the point of eating together is about the company.

  9. Yes, I opt for restaurants too! That's a good choice restaurant to pick. That sounds like what I would order....yum! Of course I'm right there with you on the cheesecake.

  10. This was a fun Tuesday 4! I actually like IHOP. They have really good burgers and fries. The onion rings aren't bad either! I will make it up your way one of these days and will visit Wetumpka with you!! Can't wait! xo

    1. My go-to at IHOP is the spicy poblano omelet -- but it's good to know the burgers are good, too!
