Welcome back to the Tuesday 4. Toni has moved on to 'higher ground' but we keep her memory alive.
Let's consider Time.
When you say 'in a couple of days' what time period are you thinking? Is your time exact or fluid?
I'm definitely exact; a couple of days is day after tomorrow. Grinning, because He who also lives here might mean next week, next month ... even next year. We adapt.
Does time get away from you? How do you handle time?
Not really, no. Like my parents, I've always been agenda-driven.
People say time is short. Then why do you do so many things you don't like and so few of the things you do like?
In a word? Obligations.
Were it not for the myriad of medical appointments, I wonder if our Good Experiences would feel as special. (Things that make you go 'hmmmm....')
Do you have enough time to do the things you want to do or live as you would like to live?
Pretty much so, yes.
Sure, I'd love to have the means to travel more ... even turn down the A/C to 72* without fretting about the electric bill ... but it's all good. A far cry from my work life which existed 4 years ago!

I love this meme. Maybe you will, too.

Thanks for starting off the post with one of my favorite songs!
ReplyDeleteMine, too!
DeleteI like that meme. Time just goes by so fast, even the slowest of days! I honestly think 72 degrees inside the house would be too cold. I think I would like 75 degrees if the budget allowed it :)
ReplyDeletebetty
Ever wonder how our grandparents lived without central air? Ugh!
DeleteGreat song for this particular post subject. I hear you about the a/c. Thank goodness for ceiling fans which do help
ReplyDeleteThanks, Anne!
DeleteTime goes by faster every day for me. I'm thankful that due to retirement I can take things slower than I used to. I never rush for anything. I think it would be impossible for me to do so. I often wonder how I got so old so soon. The children have all grown up and now some of the grandchildren are growing up too. Time just keeps on going on. Nothing can stop it. Take care and enjoy every moment that you can. Love, ma
ReplyDeleteAmen! Time is a thief.
DeleteI enjoyed your answers and number 1 cracked me up.
ReplyDelete😁
DeleteYes we love and feel the final meme.
ReplyDeleteBUT yesterday jack Jr. was here for Victor's blog. We spent a lot of time there. Today Sherry opened you blog at the table and JJ KNEW the words to the song, Time Passages. WOW. I had honestly never paid attention to the lyrics. JJ brought them up and we followed along. YEP amazing writer (and singer). WE had just talked about dimensions and those thoughts are all thru the song. GOOD STUFF.
Now a couple days are 1-5 days in my mjind, a couple days to Sherry are seen as you do.
It has at times caused some problems, I am a close enough guy most of the time. If I say 9 AM I might means +/- 15 minutes. Except appointments, they I am always early or at least ON TIME.
Enough. Love from here ;-)
Neat! I'd love to hear JJ singing Time Passages!
Deletealmost all your answers are right on for me to, never late, couple means exactly 2 days, except with bob, a few days means 5 years, we have two projects that when they are mentioned he says I can do that, in a few days. both have been there more than 5 days. maybe he means he can DO IT in a few days, not he WILL do it.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was working I had no time to do what i wanted to and now i have all the time to do what I want and don't do it. not worth the effort. I have to say I am happy most of the time with my daily life except of curse when all you know what breaks out if I turn the ac down below 76. he freezes I don't.
I pretty much do what i want when I want. my wants have changed
So glad to know I'm not the only one married to a man with little concept of Real Time. (jk, lol)
Delete"Were it not for the myriad of medical appointments, I wonder if our Good Experiences would feel as special."
ReplyDeleteThat's a good way to look at it.
Like the lyricist wrote, "You gotta AC-centuate the positive."
DeleteVery wise answers to the questions, Mevely . Thank you.
ReplyDeleteAs we get older, we may have the time but not the energy. It's called an energy crisis. And at these energy prices it's a good thing we use less.
Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.
To God a thousand years is like a day. (2 Peter 3:8)
Which made it very difficult for Moses when God said come up the mountain. He did not know whether it meant tomorrow or in a thousand years.
That's why we have to wait sometimes for our prayers to be answered.
God give me patience; but be quick about it.
God bless.
Delete'A thousand years is like a day.' I don't remember having read that, but I like it! Reminds me of the scene in Carousel when the Keeper of the Stars explains that every minute in heaven is one year on Earth.
You are very good at sensible, succinct answers to these questions. I ramble on and waste a lot of precious time! That's why I have no time for fun! I am too busy rambling on about things...LOL. I enjoyed your answers and totally understand them. Time is passing by all too quickly at our great age. We need to make every minute count.
ReplyDeleteYou are too sweet, Pam. Actually, I envy YOUR chatty, conversational posts!
DeleteI understand your answers all too well. seems dr appts is all we get to look forward to after a certain age.
ReplyDeleteTrue that! I'm thankful for them, but it still grows old.
DeleteWe call going to the Dr. a "not-so-cheap date".
ReplyDeleteGood one!
DeleteAmen to your meme. Sigh. Love & hugs, dear friend!! xo
ReplyDelete😘

ReplyDeleteDitto. 😊
DeleteYes, I would say the same thing about a couple of days. I'm glad you are agenda driven. I agree, obligations and the doctor's appointments are driving us crazy. I'm glad you left that job. That is a sweet meme.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful meme, indeed, Myra. I do find myself often asking that question. Let's try to treasure each moment God gives us.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
I loved this - seems we are in the same place. I get it.
ReplyDeleteWhen I say "a couple of days from now," I mean that if today is Wednesday -- either Friday or Saturday. During some activities, time can get away from me a little. . .but I'm a list maker and so I try to keep myself in line :-) and on time.
ReplyDeleteI loved your answers.
