More often than I'd like to admit!
Did you ever cause an embarrassing or inconvenient incident? What oops moments were your fault?
Let's rewind back to 1958.
Our Brownie troop was having a picnic down one of the canyons that populated our town.
"Myra! Don't try and carry that watermelon by yourself."
Me: "Watch this!"
You can guess what happened next.
And yes, I'm still mortified remembering the looks on everyone's faces.
Tattle on your family or pets. What funny incidents did they get into?
For 11 years now our girls have been an inexhaustible source of amusement. Exasperation, too.
... and you know those little rubber tips on door stops? Fair game for an inquisitive puppy.
What was the funniest moment in your life?
I love to laugh. ... snort too, as sometimes happens.

DeleteGood answers Mevely. When we first got our dog from the rescue centre he tore the soft furniture apart. We came home and found the settee in bits. He also scratched doors and wooden furniture. It took a lot of patience to keep him. We were told he'd been honed and returned to the rescue centre three times.

Deletethe girls look pretty innocent to me. ha ha.. my cousins shepherd did that to her brand new french provential sofa, in her first house. Max ate one shoe of 5 pairs of my best high dress shoes, in one hour.

I never before had a pet that was destructive like these 'rodents' ... these are just the tip of the iceberg. But we love them.

DeleteI think I have told this one before , but it was very embarrassing to my folks and me when I realized what I had said. I was part of a Brownie Troop and we had been invited to be on a local tv station to remind people to buy Girl Scout Cookies. During the commercial break the host interviewed all of us. When he came to me he said " and you are going to sell, sell, sell those wonderful cookies, aren't you?" I, being the oh so HONEST young girl said " NO" I don't like to go door to door and do that.!! This was on TV and all of my folks friends were watching. The host made me promise right there on the show to sell some. I just died.

That watermelon must have made quite a splat too. Poor YOU.

DeleteOh, I love your answers, and the pictures of those innocent looking pups! Oh MY!! What a mess! But I know you love them and forgave them, since you kept them! LOL. Gosh, I haven't done this Tuesday 4 yet today, because I couldn't think of anything to say...I've buried all the crazy stuff too deep I guess! LOL. I'll still think about it and see what develops. Playing chopsticks would have been fun to see! That's one of two songs I can play on the piano, the other being Mary had a little lamb. LOL. Good post.
ReplyDeleteLike I told Sandra, I never had a destructive animal before these two. The first year they sure tested my patience -- but played a BIG role in helping Tom's depression during his cancer treatments.

ReplyDeleteOh well, it’s just a sofa! My cat shredded my beautiful suede sofa. We kept the cat and got rid of the sofa. Bought new sofa and loveseat then my husband installed a thin piece of wood at the sides of the sofa, stained it the same color and screwed it in. You can’t tell. She no longer scratches there. Your “girls” are cute and worth more in the unconditional love they give than anything else.

DeleteYour girls are so cute. When our JRT's "the boys" were puppies they almost destroyed all our furniture. I dubbed them the Jack Russel Terriorists. What a handful they were. I almost gave them back to the breeder. *lol* Thank heavens they grew out of that stage. 💙

DeleteI love that song about the days we remember and so true, laughter is always the best medicine! I'm always laughing at myself, I do so many silly things. There is more laughter in my days than not! So glad you enjoy the dogs and that they made a difference in Tom's life. Love, ma.
