What-nots

Current status ...

Anyway!  Lately, I'm loving

... these temps!
Take that, Phoenix!

... the VA audiologists who re-restored Tom's hearing aids yesterday.  No more trying to communicate via charades!

... good friends who, when learning of Tom's recent health challenges, recently showed up with homemade supper.
Coleslaw, cornbread, pork loin, peach cobbler

Uh-oh!
Did y'all hear about the recent Facebook glitch?  Supposedly, whenever you went to someone's page ("I spy with my little eye") it automatically sent them a friend request.

Thankfully it was caught and corrected.   Yes, I've been known to let my fingers do the walking and look up former classmates, co-workers, crushes ... but why'd that smarty-pants journalist have to go and refer to me/us as 'Nosy Nellie.'  (LOLOLOL)

Looking forward!
After a few weeks' uncertainty, things are starting to fall in place.  We were able to see a Gastroenterologist who's ordered a couple diagnostic procedures.  Before doing so, we need to get the okay from UAB's 'Dr. McDreamy' tomorrow -- but I'm hoping this time we'll be able to enjoy a nice lunch afterwards.

Quick question!
I wasn't feeling today's Hodgepodge posers; some days are like that.  Still, there's usually one or two questions (ie, Hodgepodge, Saturday 9, Sunday Stealing) that pique my interest.

Do y'all think it's rude to 'cherry pick' questions here and there to use in a separate post?   Of course, I'd give credit where credit's due, but I'd hate anyone to think I'm going behind their back.

I hope you're enjoying a sweet week ... stay safe!

Hugs, Myra

  1. Okay, your first quote made me laugh out loud. It did not end the way I thought it would. lol But man is it so true! Dinner from your friends looks awesome. Never lose those friends! lol

I'd just say, link up with their posts and I wouldn't think it should be a problem.

  2. Thank you, it has been a sweet week here so far and we are enjoying some sunny warm days.We are cooler than you are but it is no longer cold out.
I'm glad you are getting some good news and that Tom can now hear you. That is a miracle that some never get. The VA does a lot of good for our veterans. Hope your days continue to improve. Love, ma

  3. I like all your little snippets today and I agree about the weather.
That is so nice to having dinner brought to you.
I did not hear about Facebook's glitch.
I do not think it is wrong to cherry pick questions!

  4. Praying for yours and Tom's good health.

No problem with "getting/using" some ideas from someone else's Blog.

Your friends' dinner looks so inviting. How kind and generous of them.

    God bless always, Mevely.

  5. How sweet of your friends to bring you a meal while Tom isn't at his best, Myra! I do hope things continue to improve when it comes to his health. And that's great news about the hearing aids. I know from years spent with my hard-of-hearing mother that there's nothing more frustrating than not being able to effectively communicate.
And no, I don't think it's rude to single out questions to answer in the posts you mentioned. So many of my blogging friends participate that by the time I get to the fourth one, I'm really sick of the questions!
    Blessings!

  6. I'm sure it's a big relief not having to play charades with Tom. Hopefully his re-restored hearing aids will improve his mode of communication.
The supper that your friends brought looks wonderful - - save me some peach cobbler!

It's finally in the 70s here in Daniel Boone Land. It hasn't rained in two days - - which undoubtedly is a drought.....

  7. sometimes I cherry pick ideas, and when I do, I say I found this whatever it is on so and so blog and am using her idea.. or something like that. we are desparate for rain, none here since before Ian.
you lucked out of the meal. yum.. love me some corn bread.
glad you are getting a few things in line for Tom. your temps are my favorite of temps. that is what we have from November through March and my fav time and temps. ours now are wake up to 74 go to 88 and twice to 92 but not the searing heat of summer that wakes up with 84 and goes in 90's by 10 am and a person can't breathe outside.

  9. Sunday Stealing is all about using questions from other places! If you give credit, I think it is fine. That dinner looks wonderful. Good friends are so precious. Hope all goes well with the next appointment and lunch will follow! xo

    1. Good point about SS, Terri! Sometimes I 'sit out' an entire meme because every question doesn't resonate.

  10. I loved the quote at the beginning. Yes, sitting down to write often leaves me speechless...especially if I don't have any new pictures to share. They help give me something to talk about. I don't do any other memes except for the Tuesday 4, and I only do that one because I knew Toni through our blogging friendship and appreciated her so much, and when Annie decided to take up her mantle and run this in Toni's memory I wanted to participate. I don't have any other such connections with the other regular memes. I do enjoy learning about my friends' thoughts on these subjects, etc, but sometimes it just gets too monotonous reading the same questions over and over again...and I get a little frustrated with short answers that don't really tell us much. So, yeah, like Terri said above, if you give credit, you ought to be able to use the questions that resonate with you. I will be praying for your hubby and his appointments, etc. We are all at that age where our calendars are filled with more Dr. appts. than anything fun anymore. but like you, when we go to appointments out of town I like to take advantage of that opportunity to at least go out to lunch! LOL. Take care my friend and stay well.

    1. Oh gosh. I didn't know the Tuesday 4 backstory. Sweet. I love seeing your photographs each week -- how beautifully they illustrate your message -- and verses, too.

  15. I had to laugh about the Charades. I can hear with my hearing aids, but sometimes can't think of the word I want to say and laugh at the words thrown out to help me especially in group settings!
