... It's been a while since I joined Annie in keeping Toni Taddeo's memory alive.
Let's go Beddy Bye!
How do you make up your bedroom and bed ... colors? Blankets? Quilts? Bedspread? Comforter? Throws? Pillows?
What goes into making your bed comfy for you?
When I spotted these hanging in another bedroom -- realizing they perfectly matched my furniture ... I asked nicely and Tom changed them out for me.
The bedding is a blend of muted greens and purple; and yes, I'm a 4x pillow hound.
Unfortunately, the mattress needs replacing, but I'm not ready to put money there right now. Instead, I took the weighted blanket and an old quilt to lay under the bottom sheet for extra support.
What is in your dresser? Is it organized or messy?
What a timely question ... ouch!
Last month I began unpacking neglected boxes to sort/purge, then got distracted. I dumped 'stuff' into my dresser drawers, thinking "out of sight, out of mind" ...
but my mind doesn't work that way.
Maybe having a drawer of neatly-folded under-pinning's 😉
isn't a big deal to some people -- but it makes my heart happy.
What's in and on your night stand?
I've not had a night stand in years!
Instead this - that my dad made for mother's sewing room.
Do you read in bed or watch TV before going to sleep?
No ... and no.
I may, however, try using Audible's timer app to 'read with my ears.' And if I happen to fall asleep, there's always the option to rewind!
(Wouldn't it be lovely if Life were like that?)

Myra I love that storage rack you're dad made for your mom's sewing room. So cute and it looks really good for your items at night. And I especially love the book shelf headboard.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cathy!
DeleteI remember the curtain job, and still like them lots. my nightstand is an old table with no drawers, it has a phone, box with remotes, glasses case and my kindle. yes I read to shut down my mind. also because Bob goes to bed at 7:15 while the sun is still blazing high, and I can't go to sleep that early. I rather read than TV and since we have no chair in the house comfy for reading I prefer propped on THREE pillows reading in bed. If I watch TV it stirs me up and my brain will not allow sleep. love the beddy bye pic
ReplyDeleteI get that!
DeleteYes, it would be lovely if life was like that!! Enjoyed your answers, have a great day.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mary!
DeleteThose curtains are beautiful. Good idea to move them to your room. Loved your answers! Have a nice day. ♥

For all the challenges we discovered with this house, at least the prior owners had good taste in window treatments!
DeleteNow you set me thinking. If we could rewind life a few years or so; which period would we rewind to and what would we do differently?
ReplyDeletePersonally, I would rewind to twenty minutes ago before I burnt the pizza. I forgot about it whist reading your Blog, Mevely.
God bless.
Ooooh, my lips are sealed!
DeleteWow.. the storage rack is wonderful!! I agree life should be just like that!!
ReplyDeleteMy parents would be so tickled. I used to think it was hideous!
DeleteGlad that curtain worked out for you. Let me just say that my dresser has no clothes in it and that is one of my decluttering projects on my list. I love what your dad made for your mom. Very creative. When we moved into this house 16 years ago we did not put a TV in the bedroom. It is for sleeping!
ReplyDeleteI agree. Unless someone is bedridden, it's distracting.
Deletethecontemplativecat here. Rewinding a few years back leaves me in a quandry. Where, how far back. I have been looking at my closet for some months now. Time to take it on.
ReplyDeleteIf I had my druthers, I'd have to rewind several decades -- and hopefully make better decisions.
DeleteI do love what your dad made for your mother, and that you have found a practical use for it, Myra. Often, I find myself wishing I could hit the rewind button on life, but that's not how God intended, is it?
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
So true; who are we to argue with God.
DeleteMy mattress definitely needs replacing. I'm afraid some night I'll roll onto the floor.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a nightstand - - and I can't keep clothes in the dresser (dressers, plural) because of endless nesting mice. (rural life is beyond the realms of hell).
I have a bookshelf headboard, which I used to like. Lately, it's just an annoyance.
I read in bed and watch YouTube stuff on my laptop.......which usually puts me to sleep.
There was a time when I skipped the box springs and just slept on a mattress on the floor.
DeleteI am the oddity. We have 4 pillows and 3 coushions on our bed and I like a pillow that is 1- 2 ionches thick, I cannot figure why I even like that much pillow, but that is me. She likes at least 2 when she sleep reads.. LOL
ReplyDeleteour dresser is abut half and half. LOL again.
I do require a mask at night because she loves to read late.
Nice visit, thanks..
Sherry & jack trying to smile over here in NC
Maybe that's the only kind (of pillow) the Navy issued and you became accustomed to it?
DeleteI used to have a bookcase headboard and kinda miss it. Interesting questions, doncha think!?
ReplyDeleteYes! It's interesting to read others' responses.
DeleteI like how you added a blanket to your mattress. That is smart! I like a lot of pillows too!
ReplyDeleteI think it was because there was no other place to put it!
DeleteListening to audiobooks (timed to go off) is my "sleeping pill." It works for me. 😊
ReplyDeleteIsn't it great (that) we have choices.
DeleteThat's a great idea! Thanks, Ma.
ReplyDeleteTom is sure a sweet fellow. It is good to have a nice mate around. Your curtains are pretty. I am disorganized some places and organized in others. Ah......no happy medium for me. But we love our bed even though you need a hit of oxygen after making it. hahaha So I take a twenty minute rest after making it and dream of having someone make it for me. HaHa- We love our cool gel pillows. They have been out of stock so waiting to get a couple extras. My job in the next few weeks to to reorganize the spare bedroom as Hannah and Jake are coming to visit. I have several Baries in there with their mates in their wedding attire. Jake is not a doll lover like my sons Jeremy & Nick. haha ...Barbie does not walk around at night, I know that for a fact. Hahaha But it will give me the chance to sort out some of our sets of sheets. we have too many. At one time we had a king size bed. We still do but our adjustable bed is a split King so Twin XL bottom sheets and a King top sheet and pillow cases. Oneday soon I pray it will all be better organized. If the rain ever stops we can get our garage cleared out too. Say a prayer. Have a good June and take care. Love & Prayers for you and Tom always
