What's something you 'may' do this month?
I may stop thinking about drafting my Life History and start. There's a good chance I'll wind up burning it all, but at least I'll have gotten it out of my system.
"All things seem possible in May" ~ Edwin Way Teale. Do you agree? Why not? I like what someone(?) wrote, "Genesis, rewritten with every dawn."
If not May, then in which month (if any) would you say all things seem possible? January! I don't make resolutions, but I can't escape the powerful rush of Possibilities that comes arrives each New Years Day.
April showers bring May flowers ... is this true where you live? Yep! What's your favorite color of the rainbow? Yellow.
Your favorite May bloom?
Do you enjoy visiting gardens? Not really, no.
What's a 'famous' garden you'd like to visit? Honestly, I can't imagine spending precious time and dollars to visit a 'famous' garden. There's so much beauty to be found all around in nature.
Are you a fan of the Star Wars series of films? No; I've not seen any. Are you a fan of the sci-fi genre in general, in either books or movies? It's not my preferred genre, but there are some good ones.
What's your favorite sci-fi book or movie. E.T.! Okay, I had to consult Google and was mighty surprised to discover some titles I never would have thought were sci-fi. Somewhere in Time, for example. Oh, and who can forget The Boys from Brazil. (Still gives me chills!)
Cinco de Mayo lands on Friday of this week. Do you enjoy Mexican food? I LOVE it! How often? Maybe once a month; more frequently in our cold-weather months. Do you eat out or make your own? I've never attempted to make it, but we order the flash frozen chile and chimichangas from Hatch, NM. Your favorite thing to order in a Mexican restaurant? I've been stuck on chicken taco salads with guacamole. LOTS of guacamole! Have you ever been to Mexico? Regrettably, yes.

Not mine, but this rustic easel captured my fancy. We've plenty of 'tree refuse' from the Spring storms; perhaps Tom could fashion something like this, and let Mother Nature do the rest.
No maintenance necessary, yay!

DeleteIt's funny you say January; it is my least favorite month! I can see why it feels full of possibility but for me, it's the let-down after the holidays.

DeleteI love the month of May and all the flowers blooming and the smell of gardenia. I do love Mexican food and like Spanish rice which I usually fix on Cinco De Mayo. I don't go out to eat often, but prefer my own as I can fix it with no salt and sugar. We have lots of birthdays to celebrate in May and even some I get to do in person. And next week we'll celebrate the first communion of one of my grandchildren. Lots of possibilities coming our way. Hopefully you'll enjoy May too. Love, ma

All things are possible in every month, as far as I'm concerned - but I feel more creative after winter is gone.

DeleteI love the easel! Looks like birch? I think you asked for more info on our murder mystery party. It was fun-one person ordered the kit, assigned the parts, and acted as host. She did not have a part, but didn't know the murderer until later as there are different ending options depending on the voting I think. Ours was Murder in the Tower of London. There were 8 of us, the script could have accommodated a couple more, but I think for most you need a decent sized group.
ReplyDeleteI love that tripod, the frame the flowers, all of it. that is something i would like in my yard. although in FL we might have to tie it to something. we have 50 mph winds this week, still not rain, that blew ever leaf off the bush in front of the porch.

I think they call movies sci-fi for fantasy or ghosts or a lot of things I don't call sci-fi. you might be the only other person i know that has not seen Star Wars. I saw a few of the series because my kids/husband used to watch them, while I hid far away reading

DeleteI love that flower frame/tripod. Really clever! I also enjoy Mexican food, but only the basics like tacos and enchiladas and quesadillas. I do make them, but not authentic. Just good enough to eat. LOL. That magnolia is beautiful! Is it pink? It looks pink in the picture. Ours are all white around here and they are blooming now too. I'm not a big sci-fi fan, but I did enjoy some of the old Star Trek and the original Star Wars. Can't get into all the sequels, however. I always enjoy visiting here. Hope you have a wonderful week.

DeleteI would really recommend writing your life history for your family. The world is changing fast and things we did and knew when we were young are no longer remembered or cherished these days.
ReplyDeleteIn olden days, people over here used to keep their front doors open all day. Churches were always open. The world seemed more friendly even when sharing in their difficulties.
It is good to tell your future generations who you are, where you come from and what you did when young and growing up.
I wrote my life story.

DeleteWe are still here and enjoying the visits. Just too much going on with delays and postponements that nothing gets settled. We were never Star Wars fans and actually never heard of Cinco De Mayo until the last 5 or so years.

Previous comment about Sloopy Hang On hahaha last week I looked up the old song Judy in DIsguise. Now both songs are rolling around inside my brain. But they are happy song rights???? Fact check this: they both were hits in 1965. LOL .... We eat Mexican more than anything and someone once asked my husband if his wife was Hispanic? He replied, nope, we both grew up in Pueblo. No one has better food of the Mexican variety than our hometown. Lynette informed me that an all school reunion is set for September 29th. Praying we can go. My friend Shirley from my courthouse days friended me at FB. We had such a good time catching up so hoping we can get together. God willing. I am the pink person, in fact looking for pink slip on shoes. None to be found in my price range. Same goes for the rainbow. The Botanic Gardens in Denver are beautiful. My small child (Noelle) once picked a Colorado Columbine. My friend Karen was with us. She thought it was hysterical. Ok so when they come to arrest the parent you can be me! Argh...she really is an awful Karen! I always love coming here. Have a wonderful day.
