I thought it fun to join the Sunday Stealing folks in their quest to "C'mon, get Happy." They found this one, designed to "inspire happy thoughts on a frigid January day." (Obviously, temps vary based on locale, but it's a lovely sentiment.)
10 Things That Make me Happy
Since my blog's almost old enough to vote, some long-time readers already know all about my passion for good food and furry animals.
So, politics and living persons/pets aside, what else?
In no particular order, here's my "right now" list of 10.
Cold weather
Black-white photography
Butterscotch
Real leather -- the feel! ... the aroma!
Roasted espresso
Heavy wooden clothes hangers
Hunters plaid
Dandelions to wish upon
Open fire -- be it a bonfire, campfire or in the hearth
Enjoying a simple meal and Real Conversation with one or two like-minded friends
I hope you'll join me ... and maybe offer some of your own.
Hugs, Myra

The word "Hate" is a pet peeve of mine, unfortunately, I catch myself saying it SIGH...btw, I love butterscotch and roasted expresso too. Wishing you a beautiful day, Myra.

DeleteI certainly picked the best time to visit Florida. It's not cold and this weekend has had days in the mid 80's. Beautiful and sunny. Back home in Texas it is in the20's with an ice storm warning. Hopefully by the time I go back to Texas it will warm up some. Take care and stay warm! Love, ma
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're enjoying your vacation!
DeleteYou have a good list of favorites...I'm right up there with you on this list. And...I might be pretty close to you on your list of pet peeves. This will be fun to read. The word "Hate"....a rarely used word around here. I might dislike a lot of things, but I try my best to never use this word..and I correct my grands when they use it. Y'all stay warm and safe today Myra. Sending warm hugs to you
ReplyDeleteHugs!
DeleteI'm in that same "club" too about the word Hate. It's really ugly.
ReplyDeleteLove Black & White photography, butterscotch, oh yes, the smell and feel of Real Leather is wonderful. Its the same feeling I get when walking into a lumber yard or construction place. The smell of fresh cut wood is delicious to me.
Oh yes, the fragrance of a fresh cut lawn is delicious too.
Your ending thought is right on. Real conversation with a Real Friend is the very best !!!
Good stuff Myra...
Sue
Yes ... that eau de lumber is intoxicating!
DeleteThat's a good list of happy things in life. I share many of the same "happies" as you.I might do a post later today after church. Just to get my mind on happy.
ReplyDeleteThanks Myra on this happy post!
I look forward to reading your list!
DeleteThat's a terrific list, Myra. I enjoyed reading about the things that make you happy, my friend. Blessings!

DeleteInteresting post and I like the items you listed that make you happy. Enjoy your Sunday.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debby!
DeleteI love a lot of the items you listed that you loved. I think we are pretty similar there.
ReplyDeleteHope you are okay in this storm. We did get some ice so we are staying in!
We're good -- the roads are dry and the sun's shining. (Thank God!)
DeleteThank you for sharing your list — you have me thinking about mine.
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll feel led to share yours sometime!
DeleteOh, what fun things to love and enjoy. I could ditto most of those, although maybe not so much the butterscotch. It's okay, but I never have any occasion to eat it. The last one, a simple meal with like minded friends and good conversation...Oh I love that and miss it. It's been a while. Seems like we spend most of our time with family, and that's wonderful, but sometimes we just long for good stimulating conversation with our peers...I need to work on that thought. Thank you for this. Blessings to all who are in the path of the storm. Continued prayers for the aftermath.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! Joining you in prayers for those less fortunate.
DeleteTo repeat Linda above, I am NOT a fan of using the word hate also. We visited a new church today, really did enjoy it. Sherry laughed at me, there as a bowl at the entrance and I thought it was mints, it was ear plugs! So I was EXPECTING very loud music. I was pleasantly surprised; the music was a good volume and a great service.
ReplyDeleteThings that make me happy, solid, good, short sermons and OLD hymns. LOL
Enjoyed the visit as always. WE had great weather today.
Love from over this way
Oh, that's funny! I'm glad you didn't pop one in your mouth.
Deletehahahahahaha
DeleteToo much cold weather over here right now. I agree on the coat hangers - wooden ones were real "class"! Also monochrome photographs - they remind me of the good old days. Now everything is digital. And people just photograph everything over and over again. The inventor of the camera has a lot to answer for.
ReplyDeleteGod bless, Mevely.
I've only several of those hangers -- they used to be given to my parents on the few occasions they'd purchase certain articles of clothing.
Deletecool weather, not cold

Great list! A good night's sleep is rare, but precious.
DeleteI like your list of happies! Momma used to make a butterscotch pie, and it was soooo good. You've made me happy just thinking about it. :))
ReplyDeleteA good list!! This is a fun exercise! I am still playing catch up here, and still coughing and blowing. Not a fan of the cold weather!! xo
