Silly weather!
According to Google, today's temps are supposed to set a record (88*) -- but come Sunday (quoting) "Temperatures will plumet."
Dramatic much? By plummet, they mean 79.*
Only in Alabama, lol!
🌞
Oh friends, how I appreciate all your sweet comments on my last post!
The idea came to me when I remembered an old alphabet exercise. Some may remember ...
"Our facilitator urged the class to compile Lists of 100. "
I'm pretty sure somewhere there exists a spiral notebook containing tired pages that read: 100 Things that (bring me Joy) (I miss) (to put on my Bucket List) ... yada-yada.
When sleep is scarce, it beats counting sheep!
Speaking of bucket lists! How different those long-ago notes look v. how I would answer today. It's amusing to dream, but no. For better or worse, I've been incredibly blessed.
📝
Anyway!
Yesterday's Gathering at Oak Tavern was nice. There's no way to describe my salad other than "dreadful" -- but the company and view more than made up for it.

Now ....
In all seriousness, "What would you do?"
Inadvertently, Kay sent these photos out through our Bible study (FB) thread ... not realizing not everyone in class was invited to join The Gatherers. We never intended exclusivity; rather, our aim was to gather with like-minded ladies. (Make of that what you will, lol!)
Not a minute later, someone typed, "Where is this? ... I said, WHERE is this? ... a restaurant? ... Church???"
Then, "Nobody thought of asking me if I wanted to go?" -- followed by a vomiting emoji.
Honestly, "B" isn't the most pleasant person -- she's usually antagonistic with no social skills. Still, I hate that she obviously had her feelings hurt. It's never a good idea to fib, but while the rest of us were looking at each other like, "Oh s***", Sue replied, "It was mentioned at class; you must have missed it."
I'm going early to class next Monday where Cindy's offered to build me a new, private thread.
This isn't 'Watercooler Wednesday', but I'm curious:
Have you ever mistakenly sent a text or an e-mail to the wrong person?
😮
... and the beat goes on.
I hope y'all enjoy a wonderful day!
Hugs, Myra
Temperature here is 64*F and getting colder.
ReplyDeleteWhat a faux pas putting on FB photos of the reunion. One way to get round it is to say it was not an official outing as such; more a number of people who just met for lunch. But what a good idea !!! Perhaps we should organise a proper outing somewhere nice where we can all join in.
That way, those who missed it may not feel so left out. But then ... I have never been good at diplomacy. I would say; "We were testing the place to see if it is good for a proper outing. My salad was dreadful; and perhaps we should choose somewhere else!"
God bless.
Two thumbs up ... thank you!
DeleteLove Victor's answers Myra. How uncomfortable that was. Sorry your salad was dreadful. Its pretty hard to mess up a salad.
ReplyDeleteHaHa ... I love the plummeting temps to 79F. That cracks me up.
I hate having to compile lists with a number attached to them. What if I can't think of 100 things? Do I make them up so I fulfill the required number? Hmmm, that's the way my journals start out all gung ho and poop out along the way. Fits and Snatches ... That's Me !
Sue
Exactly! Thanks for the smile on my face!
Deletethis happened just yesterday in the group my girlfriends and I have. In this group we all have similar likes and dislikes.. But..the post went out and of course, someone asked about it, followed by "sorry I missed the memo on this.". yikes!! do you ignore their comment? Or ..just fess up and say.."this is our weekly get together..and it's private" oh how life can get complicated just by making a simple mistake
ReplyDeleteWhere's "Dear Abby" when you need her, right?
DeleteThat's interesting about the weather. The only lists I compiled in school was writing the words I had wrong on a spelling test and had to write each one 100 times. That was in 5th grads. The teacher would take me and another girl out in the hall and told us we could write less because we had so many wrong. Interesting about doing a list when you can't sleep. Sorry about your salad but glad you had a nice gathering. Oh my, that was a big mistake on FB. I think I might have sent a wrong text once. You have a wonderful day too!
ReplyDeleteI remember those days!
Deleteoh yes! I sent an email to the wrong person one time. Oh my goodness. I had to grovel. A friend of mine sent a dinner invitation text to the wrong group . . .she was able to get out of it by canceling the event . . .and we re-convened at a different time. That way it wasn't a fib. When I can't sleep, I pray the alphabet. I start with A and I pray for everyone I can think of in my life whose name begins with an A. Then I move on to B, etc.
ReplyDeleteI do a similar thing, but turn it into a gratitude list by thinking of something for each letter of the alphabet.
DeleteI love these suggestions so much. Thank you, ladies!
DeleteI didn't save anything from school and now I'm glad. I'm sure the answers to anything would cause me to ponder how dumb I was(?) or am. 😂
ReplyDeleteFor me, all salads and veg's are "terrible" as they cause severe IBS! Ouch! 🤢 I've had to go completely carnivore or suffer the consequences. Not fun but I am losing weight.
"Have I mistakenly sent an e-mail or text to the wrong person?" I don't think so. If I didn't no one fessed up. However ... the "Reply To All" has gotten me into trouble ... 🥹❤️
Ooooh ya ... I didn't think about that one.
DeleteMan, this is familiar - sorry it happened to you - you try to do your best and there is always someone unhappy.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever mistakenly sent a text or an e-mail to the wrong person?
OH, MY OH MY YES INDEED. I have done a ton of errors. lol
Good to know I'm not the only one ... and we can laugh about it now.
DeleteHaven't we all done that? I have, and more than once, and probably a few times I'm not aware of. Sorry her feelings were hurt. Hope it doesn't ruin your like-minded group. Social media is great, except when it isn't. Sigh. Sending a hug.
ReplyDeleteI expect some compromises need made; 'exclusivity' isn't all its cracked up to be. LOL.
DeleteThat’s too bad feelings were hurt. I suppose the way around it is to have a private FB page for the group?
ReplyDeleteYes, that's what we're going to do.
DeleteUnfortunately, yes...sigh...I agree with Terri's comment. So sorry Myra.
ReplyDeleteOh well, live and learn. (Every day's a school day!)
DeleteJust one more boondoggle on Facebook that makes me glad I abandoned it so many years ago, Myra. Oh, yes, it's so easy to be hurt by or take offense when one feels left out. I'm glad y'all are addressing the problem.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Boondoggle ... I love that old term!
DeleteHere in Texas the days average temperature has been in the 90's and they said we'd get a cool front taking it down into the mid 80's. It still feels like summertime, not fall at all. I like warm weather so I'm enjoying it very much ! I have sent the wrong message to the wrong person many times. Usually it is to someone in my family and the message didn't have anything embarrassing in it. So it was easy to say, Opps sent this to the wrong person. Hope you are enjoying those 70 degree days. They are too cool for me. Love, ma
ReplyDeleteActually, I was freezing this morning, but by noon had the AC turned on high. Nothing about our weather is predictable!
DeleteOh yes it always amazed me how weather headlines seem to 'OVER STATE'. I did smile at this:
ReplyDeleteWhen sleep is scarce, it beats counting sheep!.... YEP.
I am guilty of sending the text or message to the wrong dude!
Good one and YES some folk make it hard to ALWAYS include them. That is a tough one.
LOve you lady, Jack and Sherry from our back yard.
Yes, we include Barbara in Bible study more out of sympathy than anything. Unfortunately, she's not an easy person to like.
DeleteI once worked with a lady who sent a complaining email about a customer to all of us...and the customer! 🙁
ReplyDeleteOMG! 🤭
DeleteHi, very nice blog, I am new here. I follow you 145, maybe follow back?

It is lovely that you remembered the old Lists of 100 exercise. That spiral notebook filled with wishes sounds like a treasure, and you are so right that looking back and seeing how your priorities have shifted is amusing and deeply reflective. It's a much more productive exercise than counting sheep.
