Helloooo again!

Can it really be Thursday already?   I've no excuse for staying away except, Life got in the way.

This morning I'm 'Thursday Thankful' .....

For our drop-dead beautiful weather!   In spite Tuesday night's confirmed tornados in surrounding communities, there were no lives lost, no significant property damage.  Nevertheless, the idea of a tree falling atop my little Taos is in my thoughts more often than not. 'Going back on The List.

Anywhoo, I finally got up about 2 and went to bed with my MVP (weather radio).

Thankful that K actually followed up and is presently on Day #2 of our bathroom(s) remedial treatment.  Suppose running into he and his parents at Easter Sunday services may have been a God bump?

Thankful that the youngest member of our little congregation is continuing to thrive.   Day before yesterday Samuel had his 17th successful surgery; his momma writes, "hoping this could be the last and his ostomy takedown will be soon."

How cute is that?!

(Still!) Thankful for Jennifer Rothschild's Bible studies.   I wanted to share a couple of talking points (from 'Amos') that rang my chimes:

"Faith is a long obedience in the same direction" and
"Are you a Pilgrim ... or a Tourist?  (Popping into church each Sunday, then going about your life.)

and finally ...

Thankful for Facebook memes that make me laugh-out-loud!

This.Is.Me

I'll be back soon with photos from Easter in Alabama!

Hugs, Myra

  1. It's a relief to know that you survived the storms without any damage (except to your nerves, I assume). Here in rural TN there was a Tornado Watch, but we only had thunderstorms and strong winds.
Sweet little Samuel is a miracle - - surviving 17 surgeries is amazing. Hopefully he will continue gaining strength.
As usual I have nothing interesting to offer (except personal complaints).
Yup, with my muddled mind, I'd definitely start a conversation with a mannequin.....

    1. Me, too! I've actually apologized to a mannequin, then quick looked around to make sure no-one saw me.

  3. Are you a pilgrim or a tourist, those are important words. Jesus knows the answer, we can't fool him and don't want to. Loved the funny about talking to a mannequin. Praying for good health for the little baby boy.

  4. Praying for the baby; and also for you and your family.

Indeed, many people are Christian for an hour or so in church on Sunday and then "normal" the rest of the time. They do and live like the rest of society. And we know how society behaves these days.

To have faith, and trust, in God is to do so constantly, for the long term which is eternity. Not just when it suits.

Keep safe and take care from the storms. God bless you and yours always, Mevely.

  5. We had the same scenario here, Myra, with the storms. Nothing hit close to us (I had been praying about it all day!) and no one anywhere in the state was hurt. Quite the miracle, but then again, God is really good at those!
Prayers lifted for precious Samuel. May the Lord heal him completely to His honor and glory, that the little guy can grow up to be the blessing to his family he was meant to be.
    Blessings to you!

    1. They prayed for that baby for 7+ years! It's like the little warrior knows he has a purpose and is showing everyone just what he's made of.

  6. I am a Pilgrim - but it is a daily decision.
I am so glad you were safe in the tornadoes.
We were too. We are not far from you.
    Love, sandie

  7. The expression on your face as you're looking through the toilet paper roll is precious :-)

    1. I saw something on FB that said, "If you take a selfie through a toilet roll tube you'll look like the moon." Obviously, something went very wrong! lol

  8. Yep loved the graphic (mannequin) ..
.BUT, but this I had to repeat a couple times; "Faith is a long obedience in the same direction" and
"Are you a Pilgrim ... or a Tourist? (Popping into church each Sunday, then going about your life.)

    That hits home sometimes......
Love from NC safe and sound...(Maybe not SOUND! ;-)

  9. Prayers for that sweet baby!! I'm glad the nasty tornadoes missed you. We had heavy rain and some crazy winds but no damage. Thankful for that and the cooler temps we will have the next couple of days. Looking forward to those Easter pics!! Hugs!

  11. I am stressed and depressed and when your blog open, I belly laughed at the picture of you staring at me. It was like looking at myself, welcome to the Mad world of snapping! I love it, so much better than a meme.. My heart felt better just thinking of you in your bathroom looking through that roll.. love you lots.
I have to say, I love all of your post, they are always upbeat and FUN! so happy the bathroom make over is "in progress".. good idea to sick the mama on the worker.
thanks for making my day start the right way..also very happy to hear the bad weather did you no harm. I dug the weather radio out 2 weeks ago and now it sits in plain sight, so the solar will charge it, since we are closer each day to weather watching.

  12. I can see me talking to the mannequin. I catch myself talking to my dog when we're on a walk and then I wonder what in the world the neighbors think of me. We did the Amos study a year or so ago and I loved it. I really enjoy hearing her speak.
