Sometimes (well, most times) when I've nothing original to offer, it's great having prompts ... being asked for our opinion.

What do you love about your life right now?
Let's see --
Not having to set my alarm for o'dark thirty each morning ...
Living only 40 minutes (v. 26 hours) from my son and family ... and basically, wasting time however I want!
LongHorn used to make the best creamed spinach but I don't see it anymore. These days we're more apt to saute a bag of fresh with bacon or pork chops.
In this current season would you say you need to spend more time looking inward or that you need to get out of your head? Tell us why.
I already spend what some might say is an 'inordinate' amount of time in my head, but that's my comfort zone.
When necessary, sure, I can get out. But sometimes people-ing can be exhausting. Or pointless. Gotta choose my audience carefully!
Are you following the 'March Madness' madness? (That's US college basketball in case you're out of the loop) What's something that feels like actual madness to you right now?
I won't even pretend to like basketball, but Tom's following.

How will you celebrate the Easter/Passover holiday this year?
I've no idea!
We've had steaks sitting in the freezer for months now that Tom may grill after church. Speaking of spinach, I may look up a copycat recipe for LH's creamed variety.
This is the first year I've not rotated our table settings by the season. Has it really been Christmas we last sat in the dining room?
I should at least make an effort to bring out my mother's pretty china. Maybe I'll pour bag of Pistachio nuts over the fake grass and call them preemies?

For the spinach concoction add a boiled egg on the side. It's REALLY good like that.
ReplyDeleteI don't follow any stick and/or ball sports either. And YES to the Diaper Man and Cackles clown show in DC. I agree. I'm Fed Up with the RINO's too.
I want more of the pine cone themed plates that I have right now in our kitchen but the company won't let one buy "just plates". I don't need or want coffee cups, etc. Just the plates. That's a bummer.
God bless. Keep lookin' up 'cause the stench of what's going on has to be reaching the Lord's nostrils and He will not wink at sin. Amen!

ReplyDeleteYes, sadly the world is full of March Madness all year round right now. People are just not listening; just all talking at once. It's the modern version of the Babel Tower.

DeleteI don't eat spinach, I might should try it. I do sometimes eat the canned kind my mother ate. I am from the south, food that is healthy is a no no, or was in my mothers house. we did have fresh garden veggies, lots of greens but collards, mustard and turnup greens.
ReplyDeletethis might make you feel better, I just put my little Christmas tree in the closet in its pillow case last week, first time ever out until mid March, last year it was mid Feb, maybe next year, oh well maybe there will not be a next year... one less thing to be inside my head about.
I wish my head came with a lock to close the door until I want to be inside.. humm. I feel an invention coming.
I have never had seasonal plates or cups, unless you count the beautiful matched cups and plates that are paper and get thrown in the trash.. I don't do paper any more, because of the trash problem, but no one eats here but us, so no problem there. the last time my son and his wife came I called out for pizza and we used paper towels
I never had a separate dining room before moving here, so I'm having fun -- everything from pieces discovered at estate sales to the Dollar Tree.

What do I love about my life now? Not much, but my uncanny ability to survive......and my uncanny ability to eat all the Easter candy I want.

I'm definitely NOT into March Madness and actually neither is Dave. We're more on the Nascar races.
I can take or leave spinach. A good spinach salad with a bacon dressing is pretty darn yummy though.
going to some friends house after church for a big Easter potluck, and eating outside on their ranch property. Hopefully it won't be raining...if it is we are ALL going to my DIL's home. Either way it will be fun.

DeleteI don't follow sports much but we;re having a bit of March Madness here at my house. This crazy weather has us upside down and backwards. It get warm and then cold again. March is going out like a lion here. Winds have been blowing spring closer but so far it's not arrived. I'll go to Church on Easter day and then I'm supposed to have dinner at my nieces house and will get to see her mother, my sister there. It's hard to say good bye to someone who's been in my life for so long. Our family Easter get together will be on the Saturday before Easter and more goodbyes will happen. I'm hoping Aoril fools day will not make a fool of me, as I'm to fly out to Texas on the 2nd. Usually it's the weather that fools us here in Ohio. Right now it's looking to be a little calmer. I hope you Enjoy your Easter what ever you do! Love ma

DeleteYes, it is nice not setting a clock. (except for those doctor's appointments, as you know with Tom) I'm glad you live that close to family. Yes, I love my spinach sauteed. It is nice that Tom is enjoying the games. Mark is that way about football. I never have dishes out on our dining room table. It does look pretty. Have a nice Easter Sunday whatever you do.
