This morning I'm feeling ...
Thankful, too, that Tom didn't bat an eye at the $700+ bill. Like me, he's got a "whatever it takes" attitude to ensure our girls are kept healthy.
Enjoying what Pastor Janet spoke about this morning: "Let go and Let God."
"Jesus Take the Wheel" was a song made famous by Carrie Underwood several years ago -- maybe you can relate?
One of my biggest, silliest fears is going through a car wash. Granted, I've only had to do it once myself, but it took everything in my will power to "put the car in neutral", then, "take my hands off the wheel." I'm momentarily blinded by a wall of water as the car makes its slow journey through the tunnel.
Of course, there's no danger. He's got this.
Looking forward to enjoying a late lunch in a few hours at LongHorn; perhaps a his-n-hers pedicure after the fact. It's not every day my fella celebrates his 82nd Happy Birthday!
Pondering closing out my eBay account. Not only the rising costs of postage, the P.O. has become notoriously bad for late and/or completely missed deliveries.
Oh, I don't know really. We recently visited a private estate sale that bordered somewhere between a treasure trove of memorabilia or a hoarder's den. This lady's parents passed a few years ago -- but not before having traveled all the world, filling their home with storied antiquities, books, etc.
Isn't it awesome?
Aside from a housekeeper, she still lives in the back rooms of the home. A warren of hallways leading this way and that, I wonder what stories these rooms could tell!
... or someone's idea of a joke?

ReplyDeletethat wall is gorgeous and i would like to see inside the house also. my brokers son when I was selling RE, was an agent and he and i would go to as many open houses as we could because we loved seeing them and also it gave us an idea what was for sale.
I will not go through one of those carwashes that drive themselves.. I did love the movie K-9 where the german shepherd refuses a bath so he drove him through it in a convertible with the top down.
the little child Tom looks much like the older Tom. i could pick him out with no problem

DeleteThe FBI thing ... it's a joke. Not a fan of the thugs but I they're that stupid. I wish now I had put something funny on ours. We're so far out in the country though our nearest neighbors are about 1/4 mile off. It won't reach that far. *grin*

We don't dare going to any Estate Sales...we are trying to get rid of so many "Treasures" as we try to make things easier for our kids and get some funds for us too.

DeleteDefinitely someone being funny with the wifi name. Estate sales are always interesting. I get notices of them often and ignore them now. It's actually been many years since I went to one. I see too many things I want and they are always too expensive anyway. Sigh. I'm trying to purge again, here. I don't need anything else coming into this house! Happy birthday to your Tom!!
ReplyDeleteOh, I've cut way back, and no longer feel obligated to buy anything 'just because.' More often than not, I simply enjoy seeing the interior of these homes.
DeleteOh my, the FBI is watching YOU? I'm impressed! LOL. I got out my magnifying glass and read the sign, and I liked what it said. I agree...little houses seem to create more togetherness than big houses with lots of little rooms. The furnishings in that house are amazing, and that chandelier is really lovely! It would have been fun to tour the house. I'm glad you got to go inside and meet the lady of the house. I bet she has some stories to tell. And yes, I've often said about an old house, "if these walls could talk"...oh the stories they'd tell. We watch a lot of videos about abandoned old houses, castles, etc., and I often think about that. Oh, Happy Birthday to TOM! How exciting! I hope you both enjoyed the pedicures! That sounds like a great gift idea! And then of course dinner at Longhorns is a real joy! So glad Maci is going to be okay. ReplyDeleteActually, the pedicure's been indefinitely postponed ... and the Longhorn dinner was dreadful. I left a polite but strongly-worded review; not really expecting a response, but felt better for having done so.

DeleteBig Brother is always watching, you know! Wow...that house, the antiques, the history. Sometimes stuff like that gets to me, too. I have an old portrait on my wall of two elderly sisters. No idea who they are, but at an auction no one would bid even a dollar. I didn't want them to end up in the trash so 50 cents later and they live with me. Prayers for your sweet pup!

DeleteMy nephew, along with my brother and his wife run an estate sale business. They do a really awesome job and love doing it. They do find some unique stuff in people's home. I've been to one or two. My sister and her hubby go quite often.
