What does this picture make you think about?
A place we used to call the Via Grande, just a short drive north of my hometown.
Before his father had the audacity to move their family away to Idaho Falls, my h/s boyfriend and I'd drive up there to stargaze and talk about our future.
He wanted to become a famous D.J. and drive a Porsche ... I forget the rest. Young love, lol.
If you could spend a week in that cottage would you do it, and who would you bring along?
Does it have a microwave and coffee maker -- perhaps a slow cooker? Wi-Fi?
OK, I'm in!

I'll bringing my music, a bottle of good wine and lined tablets.
..... lots of tablets and pretty pens so to work on my oft-postponed memoir.
What kind of meal do you think represents October best? How about a cookie or cake or dessert?
Green chili stew and cornbread
Dessert? Something light to offset the 'heat' -- sherbet, perhaps peach gelato.

DeleteOctober is such a colorful time of year with the trees changing and skies of blue. I love the song Falling leaves. I'm not sure of the title of the song, but it has a line about when the falling leaves drift my window. I can sit here at home and watch them fall right outside my window. Deletemy first thoughts of the photo were no people, no neighbors, peace and quiet, no noise from mowers and Harley's and trucks and cars.. YES i would stay there as long as it has wi-fi.. I would need that to download kindle books to read. I also want a swing out side somewhere and dogs have to be allowed. beau will be my companion. Unless of course you want to meet me there. this would be a you only, no husbands allowed.
ReplyDeleteOct means nothing to me that i know of except about 6 or 8 birthdays that also mean nothing, since all i do is text them. also want to go when the temps don't go below 60 or higher than 80... can i bring a gun? i am watching the news. what state might play into it, open carry?

DeleteI would love to spend a week in a cabin. We did that for 18 years each summer up in Mammoth Lakes, CA.I love Barry. I've seen him about 3 times in concert.

ReplyDeleteI liked your Manilow song. I remember years ago taking a young lady to see him in an open-air concert. The field was packed, and there were TV screens everywhere on trees and poles so we could see him close up.

DeleteI guess I'm old fashioned. I would NOT want wifi at this cabin. It's a great place to be unplugged and get back to "nature" and time alone with God...or if the family goes along, play games, read real books, take long walks in the woods, enjoy a nice fire and all that goes along with that...but NO TV, Computer, phones (except for emergencies). That's my idea of a real vacation. I know, I'm strange.

DeleteWe go by the Valle on our way up to the land, of course. We don't spend the night, and when I go I always use the internet. That picture would have too many trees close to the house for us, we need 100-foot defensible space around ours now because of wildfires, but we still love it. And Kaitlin, Torben, and the pups stay up there when they come. I love my life down here too. 😊
