G'morning from rainy central Alabama!
Did you know there's something called a 'fake Fall'? Me, either. The other day I was all set to take pictures of the falling leaves -- then the weatherman said it's actually heat stress that's making us think Autumn's arrived.
🍃
Usually I'll notice and send another, "Kilroy was here." All the same, if I'm a regular visitor and you don't see my name after a few days, won't you please give me a "what's up?". (ty)
🍃
Oh, here's a quote I copied, 'just because.' I'd like to see it embroidered on a sampler!
"The first taste of morning coffee and the first one of evening wine have to rank up there with the world's greatest pleasures."
*Amen*
🍃
... speaking of "Amen"! I'm excited to see Tom performing with a our church friends and theirs tomorrow afternoon at a community praise and worship service.
Honestly, if you'd have told me even a few years ago Tom would even consider doing something like this, I'd have laughed in your face. Yet, because he loves playing and 'jamming' with other musicians, Frank's lured him in. Nanette just shakes her head, but I've not seen her dad this enthusiastic about anything in a very long time.
Granted, my south side Chicago-raised hubby didn't know any of the songs. (*gasp*) ... but has set about trying learn "I'll Fly Away", "Will the Circle be Unbroken" etc., etc. Cross fingers, will you please?
🍃
Okay, then!
Not sure what this weather has to do with my appetite, but I'm going to wander towards the kitchen.
I hope y'all enjoy a sweet Saturday. I appreciate your stopping by!
Hugs, Myra

When you figure out what is going on with disappearing comments please let me know. f course there is only a 50/50 chance this comment will even appear. Like you I am still reading everyone's blogs even if my commenting (unintentional) is sketchy.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Sunday and hope your husband learns the songs in time. If not just fake it till you make it, Tom!
I like that ... improvisation!
DeleteSorry I keep forgetting to add my name since Blogger does not seem to like me commenting anymore___anne in the kitchen

DeleteThe mature tree (I'm guessing at least 40 years old) next to the building just south of ours has had quite a few brown leaves for weeks now. None of the other trees in the community are having issues as far as I can tell.
ReplyDeleteNothing should surprise me anymore!
Deletethe first sip of coffee, even the 2nd and 3rd I always think/sometimes say. ahhhhhhh the other cups don't do that. I long for the first sip when I wake up. at this point in HEAT ZONE FL, I would love a fake fall. never heard of it but send it down here and please send rain. the anonymous thing is driving me crazy as is the disappearing comment. I am already humming I'll fly away, my kind of music. what does tom play? guitar?
ReplyDeleteThat one's been stuck in my head, too. I really should learn all the words.
DeleteTom usually plays keyboards, but tomorrow will be playing tenor sax.
How wonderful that Tom has found an outlet for his music and even better that it is church-based!! Your book sounds interesting. I will make note of it. Your comments show up for me, though I know you have said a couple of times that you had to redo one. Crazy.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! The book was/is a freebie; otherwise I don't know that I'd have paid for it.
DeleteIt's definitely feeling like fall here, but not looking much like fall yet. Most of our leaves are still green. We've had some really cool nights in the 40's and I've had to turn the furnace on. I got the sweaters and jeans out and they feel good. Hope you have a good fall there. I would love to be enjoying a mid 80 degree day again. I don't like cold.
DeleteThe leaves are falling off the trees here too. Took me all day to stick them back again. I'm not ready for Autumn. The shops are full of Christmas items as well as Halloween goods. Which comes first this year? Christmas or Halloween?
ReplyDeleteGreat news Tom is playing music in church. Will you be recording it for us?
Keep happy, Mevely and enjoy your coffee and wine. Although I prefer Guinness and whisky.
God bless you and your family.
Hahaha! I'll definitely be taking pictures and hope to get a video if my phone's mic complies.
DeleteGood for Tom!!! As you know, we love music, too, especially in church. I'm proud of him for learning the old-timey hymns. And, Myra, I feel the same way about coffee and wine; in fact, I'm sipping the latter right now as I watch the GA game.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Thank you, Martha. Cheers!
DeleteWish I could attend the concert! Kudos to Tom for learning some good ole Southern hymns. Be sure to take some pictures.... and a video if you can.
ReplyDeleteI sure will! Thanks for asking.
DeleteYes, we have Fake Fall every year! I noticed, this morning, that our leaves are changing and I suspect it is from the brutal temps we've had. They are pretty though and I will start raking them up to put on my raised beds, to winter them over. Happy dance for Tom!
ReplyDeleteGrace & Peace,
Pam
Good exercise! I'm lazy; we just run the mower over them and mulch.
DeleteYou know...I have had enough of this humidity. No matter how much anti humidity hair products I use, my hair falls flat by midafternoon, sigh. ANYWAYS, responding to your SOS on comments, grin; wassup Buttercup? lol
ReplyDeleteHurray for Tom! That sure made me smile.
😁
DeleteI'm a bust. I don't like either coffee or wine. Sorry about that! 😊
ReplyDeleteThat's alright! 🤗
DeleteOff to church be right back!
ReplyDeleteSherry & jack

DeleteI don't see my first comment it must have disappeared, so I'm posting again. We have had some really cool days and nights in the 40's. I had to turn the furnace on. It was downright chilly in my house. I got out my sweaters and jeans and they do feel good. However I would rather be enjoying a mid 80 degree day ! I like being cold. BrrChill. With love from Ohio, ma
ReplyDeleteBlogger is being weird. Thank you for coming back!
DeleteThat is suppose to say I DON'T like being cold. Love, ma

DeleteNo, I never heard of a fake Fall. Okay, I will watch for your comments. Of course I don't post very often. Glad you are enjoying your book. I love that quote. That is nice to hear about Tom. Hope you found something good to eat!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debby!
DeleteI can't wait to hear about Tom playing with the group!! Please tell us all about it!

DeleteI saw the FB pictures of your hubby playing. That is so awesome! I love seeing people using their talents for the Lord.
