Good morning ... Happy Friday!
Some of y'all asked about Tom participating in our friends' Praise gathering Sunday afternoon.
He was a little nervous but had a good time. Best, the audience's response! Several people came up afterwards to tell him how much they enjoyed it.
(Tom left on sax)
Some may have seen a video clip I shared on FB, but here's a couple more if you're interested.
Our friend's adorable gr-grandson
at rehearsals.
In other news ....
Tom knows better than to let me in Dollar Tree unsupervised. (lol)
But such a deal!
Some of y'all know I'm nuts for all things black-and-white.
Now, if the weather will just cool a bit so we can enjoy sitting out there (sun room).
I think that's all ... for now.
I hope y'all enjoy a great weekend!
Hugs, Myra

Tom needn't be apprehensive about the performance - - they did a great job. I enjoyed.all the videos. I haven't seen a Dollar Tree.since I lived in Texas. They.had some neat.Halloween.items.
ReplyDeleteYour new mugs will come.in handy for.hot.drinks in cool.weather.
Thank you, Jon! I hope you'll be feeling up to posting about your recovery again real soon.

DeleteBlogger seemed to have messed up my comment. I generally don't type that sloppy.
DeleteI'll post an update some time next week. I have to learn the results of some recent tests.

Deletefill those cups with hot chocolate and hold my place at the table. I love black and white also. listening to the videos is like time traveling back to my growing up years in Daddy's church. these are the songs I grew up singing. I would have told Tom the same thing if i were there... we have several dollar trees here, and one of them is HUGE. the one walking distance to me is small but the other one expanded to take in 3 stores because of low rent priced due to shopping strip empty of stores. Imangine one that big, you could spend hours there.
ReplyDeleteOh, stop tempting me! Even now they've turned into a $1.25 store, it makes me feel all sorts of thrifty.
DeleteI really enjoyed the singing - especially when the Saints come marching in. We want more of these videos ... well done Tom! How about a solo in your home. Or other church videos like this one.
ReplyDeleteThanx Mevely. Made my day.
God bless.
Thank you so much! I'm not much of a videographer, but will make an effort. Meanwhile, here's a link to my YouTube channel:

Thank you, Mevely. I enjoyed the videos, especially the way the dog tried to join in on the "jamming" video. Also the "Remember me" video and Christmas 2020. It is so good when friends get together and share their faith in songs.
DeleteI wish I could play a musical instrument.
I spent quite some time watching the videos you posted. I nearly fell off my chair watching "Going to Holy City". It was sideways then upside down just about.
God bless you and your family, Mevely.
I've never heard a praise band that included a saxophone, but it was a great addition.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kathy!
DeleteI'm so glad he had fun playing with the band and so all received too. I've never been musically inclined and don't play any band instruments, but when I wa young, I did enjoy singing in the church choir. That was what we called praise and worship back then. We are to be in the mid 70's today and will stay that way for a while. Perfect weather for me. Love, ma
ReplyDeleteThat's great weather!
DeleteOur church didn't have a choir, but I enjoyed participating in the one at school -- great camaraderie.
Tom and the band were great, Myra! I'm so glad you shared that musical inspiration here today. And that little guy is absolutely precious. Thanks for the great photos!
ReplyDeleteIsn't he, tho? I wish I'd been quick enough to take a picture when little Dawson was practically sticking his head into the horn's bell, trying to figure where that sound was coming from.
DeleteSo enjoyed the band videos. Tom is really good. Love those mugs. Hope you have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Cathy. You do the same!
DeleteI'm so happy his performance went so well. How wonderful that people came up to him afterwards. Your friends great grandson is adorable. Love what you bought at Dollar Tree.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Debby!
DeleteWhat kind of church is that?
ReplyDeleteIt's not a church; rather, a former school auditorium-turned little theater.
DeleteOur Dollar Tree is now Dollar and a Quarter Tree, but I love it too! I enjoyed the videos and was singing along!! Speaking of singing along, I just received in the mail Sean Dietrich's CD of Porch Songs. I am obsessed!! Happy weekend!! xo
ReplyDeleteLucky duck! Aren't you and your sister supposed to see him perform this month?
DeleteGood read and loved the videos and pictures, and what a wonderful sweet catch of the grand baby. Proud of Tom, wish I could do that... My first instrument was the sax, but there were too many keys and sadly, I switched to the trumpet.

Thank you, Jack and Sherry. Happy Anniversary wishes again!

DeleteOh no the Dollar Tree! Avery makes sure he is with me with only two reusable bags! hahahaha It is like I am 5 and I need everything in the place! haha Oh my goodness, Tom is such a terrific musician as is the group at your church. Those videos made me smile. My nephew Troy is a sax guy. I use to say if you weren't my nephew and I was a young lady...youd be my boyfriend! I had a lead crystal saxophone figure that was a promo when I was with Princess House. They never went into the line but I bought it and when he graduated from high school I gave it to him. You would have thought I gave the kid a million bucks. He is my nieces music man! :-) I hope you and Tom are enjoying the cooldown. LOVE to you both
