Happy Fall, y'all!
Outside my window?
When I started this early today, it was raining. Again.
But when I stepped outside with the dogs, I spotted a sweet Cardinal thoroughly enjoying a leisurely bath in the stream. Totally oblivious of the dogs, he preened himself this way and that.
Times like this, I'd love to have a real, whiz-bang camera.
A few hours later ...
At the conclusion of our ladies Bible study, Brenda was first out the door. A few seconds later, back inside. Barricade stance, serious expression: "Y'all be careful out there!"
What? What is it?
Brenda: "The sun's shining!"
Speaking of, I'm thinking the conclusion of this particular study can't come soon enough. I'm trying, but this one leaves me cold.
Came home and picked up Tom. How that fellow loves to grocery shop!
For the second time this month, developmentally disabled young men were bagging. (While their teachers stood watching.) One even came running when Tom couldn't get an empty cart to let go from its mates. I hate when that happens!
Anyway. Big smiles, calling everyone 'sir' or 'maam', wishing us a nice day. So sweet; I love that our local grocer encourages these sorts of initiatives.
I'm concerned. My son called yesterday; it sounds like he's fighting Covid. Both tests came back negative, but he has all the symptoms -- kicking his you-know-what. He's lost 8 lbs. last week and it seemed to exhaust him to speak for more than a few minutes.
I offered to help him run his routes -- he's a self-employed distributor for Little Debbie -- but he doesn't want us exposed. We finally agreed, Lois will call me if things warrant a trip to the ER.
If you're inclined to pray, I'd sure appreciate it!
Meanwhile ...
I've been playing house. Thank you, Dollar Store! And thank you, Target for these sweet foam pumpkins. Only $1 each!

ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the camera. I think of my great Nikon 35mm (that I didn't know how to use, but I could really zoom in. LOL) But I did see the CArdinal! sweet.
You stirred a sad note with the challenged kids. WE lost a sweet guy named Tyler to Covid. We will miss seeing him in Florida. He was always smiling and so mannerly, He will be missed.

I may be losing the few marbles I have left. sorry to hear about your son. my pharmacist said people can test negative when sick or postive and not have it. he said the test are wrong as much as right. prayers for your son. your home is looking great and ready for vistors. since we never get any visitors i have no incentive to make things look festive. in fact right now i ahve to incentive to do anything at all. what a great thing for your store to do, good for the kids and for the shoppers..

Trusting it isn't Covid, but if they have that monoclonal antibodies infusion available in your area, he may want to check into that if his symptoms get worse or he tests positive. They should make them available everywhere because they are life saving. I really believe God used that to save our kids. They were a lot sicker than I realized. But they are fine now, Praise God! If your son did not have the vaccine, then he may seriously want to check into this infusion (before the President takes it away because he doesn't seem to think the unvaccinated people are worth saving, or so it seems, seriously) Sorry. I digress. I am just so thankful to God that our Governor has been fighting to keep it here in Florida, and it should be everywhere. Okay, that's that. Love the Cardinal in the stream. Happy little guy! I bet he was just "singing in the rain". Keep us posted on your son. We'll be praying.

Prayers for your son, maybe just a respiratory illness. I had one first of august, daughter too same symptoms, she tested negative. We have been getting a lot of rain too, trying not to complain. :) I wrote a new blog post if you want to stop by.

I will definitely be praying for your son. Hopefully he'll soon feel better. It's encouraging that he tested negative for the covoid. But flu season is upon us. And that can make us sick too. Love your cute dollar store finds. It's fun to decorate for fall.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you are ready for fall tomorrow! I used to work with mentally handicap kids - and it was the joy of my life - they are the sweetest and most innocent kids in the world. I am just starting our bible study - started late this year because of covid.

It's encouraging that your son's two tests were negative, but unfortunately the tests aren't always reliable. I certainly hope he is home getting plenty of rest and being closely monitored.

ReplyDeleteI have prayed for Troy too. Nick was like that but he ended up with pneumonia oce the IFD and Pulmonary experts saw him. If they had done the Mri or CT scan first they would have avoided scaring all of us to pieces. Oh birds are so funny. They enjoy bathing like no one else I know hahaha. Love the fall ya'll....LOVE and HUGS
