Y'all doing good?
Despite feeling a little moxie-less, I need want to keep my toes in the pond. Thinking ... I'm going to try and publish shorter posts, more often. Taking a page from a few of you ... less prose, more photos. Perhaps a video now and then?
Don't think I mentioned, but Tom's been having a dickens of a time with his new eyeglasses. We both loved his new doc -- not so much his diagnosis of 4th nerve palsy. Unfortunately, he can't identify any contributing factors. My poor hubby's already given up golf and is about to abandon his passion for RC aircraft, on account he sees two of everything ... and doesn't know which plane to land!
Before choosing the option for a surgical consult, we chose new glasses with a prism. Unfortunately, they're making him sick. Literally. Back to the drawing board Monday morning ... with crossed fingers and toes!
I shouldn't complain, but whew. This has been our year for doctors.
At the recommendation of his pulmonologist, we met Tom's new oncologist -- a likeable straight-shooter. While he has few concerns (that) the cancer's returned, he ordered a CT scan.
So yesterday afternoon -- like a little kid coming out of the dentist office with a lollipop -- Tom hands me this itty-bitty vial the tech gave him. Since his hearing's gone to pot, I wasn't surprised to hear, "I think she said this is some kind of seed." (LOL)
A highlight (or two) ...
Praying for Tom's health, and yours, right now. Trust in God always.

DeleteSure sounds like Tom is having some difficult times. Getting old is definitely not for wimps! That hatch chile - yes please! Your babies are so adorable! Sending prayers for good health for you and Tom.

DeleteMy thoughts and prayers for you and Tom. Those chilis look yummy! I never thought about having them shipped to me! I bought a bottle of Hatch chili wine for my daughter's Christmas gift. Now, that sounds nasty to me but I bet she will love it! Your sweet little "delinquents" are beautiful!

DeletePraying they can figure out your hubby's eye issues. I remember my Dad had to wear those prism glasses before he had cataract surgery and new "lenses" installed. That cured that problem. So I hope they can figure it out for your Tom. Also the other issues. May the Lord give you good answers. Your pooches are so cute and sweet, and they look so pretty and happy!! What fun! I have no clue what hatch chile is. Is it "hot"? I'm not a big hot spice fan. But if it is something you love, then I am happy you have it and can enjoy it! Have a blessed day my friend.
ReplyDeleteHatch hot? Well, yes. And no. It's a distinctive-flavored pepper that gets it's name from the Hatch region in NM. They market everything from mild to (my fav) hot. Your prayers are so valued!

DeleteI didn't want another dog at first, but our girls are the best companions.
Gosh, I was going to mention the prism. My sister's husband had to get glasses with a prism because of double vision (from his stroke) and they worked well for him. Sorry they didn't work for Tom. Sure hope he gets a good report from the oncologist, Myra. Do keep us posted and prayers are being lifted! Love the puppies all dolled up! xo

DeleteFingers crossed about Tom's eyes. Mine aren't that bad, but they've been a handicap since I was a teen. I often have to block off one eye to read and I used to have trouble driving because it took a lot of brain work to figure out what lanes cars were in. I hope they figure out something for Tom.

DeleteOF COURSE I will comment first on the pups.. they are so precious and cute and love the scarf.. i had to look up prism, that was a new word for me in glasses and what a scary thing Tom has, double vision I mean... also had not heard of the 4th nerve thing.. also scary. my eyesight is the one thing I treasure the most of all my senses. Praying they can find a way for him to continue to enjoy life and not have to give up flying. I can tell you bob has gone down hill in health lane since he doesnt fly any more. his is related to not being able to stand or walk because of bad knees. hugs across the miles and prayers too.. owie on the Hot Stuff.. enjoy the burning mouth. ha ha

DeleteSounds as if Tom needs an adjustment done on those glasses. It could make a big difference. A little tweak may be all that's needed. Hope the big C is not back and yes we all need a little mustard seed of hope for sure. Your sweet trick or trreaters, probably get more treats than tricks there at your house. Keeping you both in my prayers that all keeps right and happy in your world.

Aw, thanks! From your lips to God's ears! Ya, I was surprised and super impressed (that) the tech was handing those wee vials. You know, I can't help but wonder if, in another place and time, she'd be told to cease and desist .....or else.

ReplyDeleteI'm really sorry to hear about Tom's eye problems, but I did a double-take (no pun intended) when you mentioned it. My cousin Nancy is having the exact same problem and is presently wearing glasses with a prism.
I only learned about this a week ago and never heard about this particular eye issue before. She has to go to an eye specialist in another city (I think Nashville) for further tests.
Anyway, I'm sending positive thoughts for you and Tom. This has been one heckuva year, hasn't it?
BTW your doggies are adorable.
What a coincidence! I'd not heard of this kind of thing either ... then again, it's 2020. (*sigh*)

DeleteI'm so sorry that y'all have had to see too many doctors this year - 2020 is weird all around. I bet Tom is nauseous all of the time seeing two of every thing - makes me feel motion sick just thinking about it!! What do those chilis taste like? really hot?
ReplyDeleteActually, the double vision only occurs when he's trying to fixate on something in the distance; the rest of the time he compensates by closing one eye. Yep, the Hatch chile peppers we get are HOT. :)
