Scavenger Hunting

 

Thanks so very much for your well-wishes yesterday.  My first hurricane likely won't be my last ... but I've a whole new appreciation for the men and women out there making sure we've lights and clean running water!


Now for something new ....


I used to LOVE participating in scavenger hunts ... and later, crafted some on behalf of the children for whom I'd babysit.  How about you?

1.  A Sign
The storage shed out back has become Tom's workshop 



2.  What says 'seasonal' like SEC College Football?
WAR EAGLE!



3.  Yellow leaf



4.  Miniature 'thunderbird'

6.  My grandparent's  1914 Certificate of Marriage




7.  Anything that is lighted ...
Tom took solar lights (usually stuck in the ground) and mounted them atop our deck railing.




8.  The manufacturer 'decorated' our front door



9.  Author's printed name



and finally ... 


Ta-dah ... my 'mystery' item.
Hint:  If you, like me, were a Child of the 50's, chances are your parents owned one of these.

    First of all, thank you for taking the time to write and design this post. Must have taken ages.

    I really like the Marriage Certificate. Wonderfully written in calligraphy. These days I guess people get their marriage certificate by text on their cell-phones. (What a cynic I am!)

    I can't guess what the mystery item is. I remember something called Scotch Tape - like sellotape - when I was young. I believe it was this colour.

    Fantastic fun! Fun for you finding it and fun for me looking at it and you did really really well finding everything exactly that said what was described. I got a big chuckle out of the airplane mechanic sign and that last thing it's either the brown part is part of a stand-up angel or its a plaid throw that you put over your lap in the winter time. Other than that no clue

    Wow, for your #10 mystery item, my first assumption was a scotch tape dispenser but you mixed that and your hint threw me off being that your parents had one (like others) so, my 2nd guess makes no sense either...a lunch box? Loved your mini find & the marriage certificate is priceless! That hours pot is pretty cool too. Thanks so much for playing!

    Enjoyed the visit. My first impression was some of the cheap sun glasses with the celuoid covering coming off.
    Yes we did love scavenger hunts. Amazing the things that entertained to no end.

    Hmm, looks like a coleman picnic cooler or picnic basket kind of thing...something thermal. Love your other picture. That marriage certificate license is priceless!! Wow!!     Clueless on your mystery item; I'll have to come back tomorrow for the big revel! Such a cute scavenger hunt! Haven't seen one/done one in years but always fun to play along! That is so cool you have your grandparents' marriage certificate from over 100 years ago!
