I want to pick up a tennis racket on my next Wal Mart run -- to keep as a weapon while out in the back yard. It's not been proven the 'murdering hornets' have actually made their way to Alabama -- but Tom said they were spotted at the flying field last week. One of the members was stung and had to be taken to the E.R.. Another claims to know someone who was bit and had to be put on a ventilator for 24 hours. Good grief!
How about you? If something's a disappointment, do you throw it by the wayside or muddle through 'til it's used up?

For finally coming to the last roll of that awful 'Charmin strong' toilet paper. Even tho' we've more of the 'good stuff' in the closet, I'm like, "Girl, you've made your bed, now go lie in it."How about you? Tom's video appointment with his UAB cardiologist today. Not so much, our having to travel to Opelika tomorrow for pulmonary tests. Tom's grown weary of things being put off and says he just wants to know sooner rather than later if they find anything amiss.

it's a commercial-free radio station run by residents of senior-living communities across the U.S. -- social distance broadcasting from their rooms!
Curious, I had to check it out. And, in fact, spent the better part of Saturday morning on the computer, surfing and listening to the likes of --
Frankie Laine, Elvis, Slim Willet, Patsy Cline, Electric Light Orchestra, Mamas and the Papas … even Bob Hope and Shirley Ross' Thanks for the Memories. (I'd never heard that song all the way through before.)
The resident "DJ's" commentaries are a hoot. One old fellow was saying he'd been married once, but she passed after only 10 years. "I never remarried", he continued. "But I've had a variety of girlfriends. I'm still looking for my soul-mate, but it's tough on account of my age and my disabilities."
Listeners can -- and do -- call in with requests and dedications. I hope when all this season of darkness is behind us, RadioRecliner.com keeps doing its thing.
Now, if you'll excuse me I want to go think of a suitable musical request!

Good morning! I am coming to you are rather coming to your post by talking to my tablet. If it looks strained it's because I'm not typing. It seems / the doctor yesterday that I must have left I'm doing what causes my shoulder to hurt and after much testing I have found that it is the typing that hurts I'm telling you this here because I can't go look at that site because I've also been told I have to have much less computer time. I agree with Tom if I've got to know something I want to know it right away and forget the waiting! I saw on TV that the worst thing you can do is swat at a be so don't don't buy that racket! It depends on what it is that I don't like whether I throw it away or not if it's lunch meat and I really hate it or it's too salty or something like that I just toss it. But toilet paper is solid gold so would not toss that

ReplyDeleteI didn't say anything to Sherry just put the Mamas & Papa on, as soon as she heard them, she said, "THE MAMAS & PAPAS" and her eyes went to my screen. LOL I think one of her most favorite groups...
And bad choices we muddle thru except for books, I drop one if I don't like it, SHE will muddle thru. ;-)

DeleteI had to smile when you mentioned getting a tennis racket because I do have a bug zapper that is shaped like one. It is battery operated and will zap any bug you swat with it. Yes, waiting to hear what is going on is hard. I always figure that no news is good news. If it was bad, you'd have heard by now. I keep hearing about those virtual doctor appointments/ Tjeu do sound like the better way to go, but now and then a in person visit is necessary. Hoping all goes well ! Take care and be safe !

ReplyDeleteCareful with those hornets. I once got stuck in a greenhouse in our garden with a bees' nest. The got in the greenhouse and nested there and I disturbed them. Greenhouse doors slide open and shut. Try reminding me of that when I'm getting out in a hurry and pushing against the door.

DeleteI've heard about those "murdering hornets" and they have me worried, because my house is SURROUNDED with wasps and bees - - every kind imaginable. And during the past few years I've noticed that some have become very aggressive.

I always buy a gallon of insecticide with a sprayer and I ZAP them - - but you have to be quick...and a fast runner (not easy with my bad back).
I hope everything works out for Tom. I swear - sometimes not knowing is better....

DeleteI made a list today of medical/dental appointments I need to schedule and I will start to schedule in the next few days. Dental offices opened yesterday and since I missed the dentist in April that's where I'm going to start. Take care!

DeleteI must check out the radio station. That was quite clever. Nothing worse then commercial interruptions. I have a neighbor one block over like that gentleman.John has a wife! He is a way too friendly fellow! HaHaHa~ I am good handling myself. I can still run! I refuse video appointments. I will make a live appointment to check my labs. My eye doctor will see me and so will a dental office. Medical doctors are leaning away from the Hippocratic oath they took or perhaps they kicked that to the curb too. When they can not see me in person I will go elsewhere. My grandson was seen for a check up at a clinic in the King Soopers store. The little ones have all had their well check appointments. I think it is sinful doctors refusing to treat you face to face, but nothing in this world makes any sense. I know there is hope, my friend Debbie in Tennessee and I had a long conversation on the phone yesterday. She told me her doctor prayed with her at her last appointment. Have a great weekend. They come up quickly. :-)
