From me, to me
Hello there!
'Between what's been playing out on television and social media, I'm feeling a bit discombobulated ... evidenced by my getting halfway to the Post Office Thursday morning before realizing I'd left my packages sitting on the kitchen counter.
Between trips to the refrigerator, however, I'm .....
Thankful
….. for Tom's daughter. In spite of our past challenges, Nanette's really come around this last year, calling her father every few days. Then Friday night, a random surprise on the doorstep addressed to me, just because!
Now, I know better than to drink wine from a straw (schmocker-ville!), but I can think of one or two alternatives. Like baby YETI's -- only less expensive!
Realizing
….. what felt like a rotten turn of events last February turned into something good. I could never envision myself wearing glasses, but it feels so freeing! Not to mention, early on in this pandemic they cautioned contact lens' wearers to please consider alternatives. I'm still supposed to meet with the eye specialist later this month, but I could swear it feels like my vision's improving.
Looking forward to
….. tomorrow morning's in-person ladies Bible study. Plus, I finally did it! I made the decision to join the church -- in large part due to the pandemic. (Huh?, you say?)
See, I confided to Pastor Janet, I've always been terrified at the thought of standing up in front of a lot of people; being looked at. "No worries", she responded. "We'll just video you Saturday morning before I tape my sermon." Congregation of 4 … woot!
With sweet friend Sharon, representing the congregation … sort of social distancing.
Random thoughts
….. when did they stop manufacturing 'hard-bristle' toothbrushes. And why wasn't I consulted?🤣
….. even though my mask doesn't come close to covering my eyes -- why does it feel like I'm straining to see when I drive?

Deletepsssss hey you dont have to wear the mask when driving, just saying...and for the record, I refuse to wear it in public, luckily, the police look the other way, now the stores, not so lucky. It is mandated by Executive Order by King Cuomo.

I read that about contacts a few weeks ago -- more emphasis on not touching one's eyes. Sure saves time every morning!
DeleteWhat a nice idea of the pastor's for a relaxed way for you to join the church, and wonderful for you to have a support group there (as I do here). I like those wine goblets, they are like works of art, that is a sweet gesture from Tom's daughter.

DeleteI was so discombobulated once that I could not even spell it. I was fascinated too. Have you ever been fascinated? A nurse did it on my arm when I was a baby.
ReplyDeleteI took my mother-in-law to the Post Office recently. She did not want to go. But I insisted she gets into the parcel before I posted it.
About wearing glasses. My grand-dad was ninety and never used glasses. He drank straight from the bottle. Mostly spirits ... whisky, vodka, brandy anything. When he died we had him cremated. Took the fire brigade a week to put the fire out.
Congratulations on joining the church. Pray for me. Will you be doing readings? Post a video here. I liked the video of your Pastor's sermon.

So glad you made the decision to join the church you've been attending, Myra! Such an important step for anyone to take. Happy to know, too, that your glasses are working so well for you. The only glasses I have right now are readers, and I'm grateful for those.

DeleteLast week I said to Bob I am so discombobulated! His answer was I just heard that word on TV this morning what does it mean? I learned that word from a friend that I worked with and she used to say it all the time. Our whole world is discombobulated. Her other favorite word was everything is copacetic I wish I could say that about our world! Love the flower love the mugs love the picture of you in front of the 4-person church! Haha. So is this the pastor that's going to build a house next door to you? I don't wear my mask while I'm driving.

DeleteDiscombobulated is a good word for it, me too! Glad to hear you are liking your glasses. Way to go on joining the church. I would not be ready for a one on one bible study. You don't need to wear a mask in your own car.
ReplyDeleteActually, I kept putting off their invitations; and was so relieved to discover it's not really a Bible study as much as a circle of like-minded friends who share concerns and challenges.

It seems our eyes can take in the germs too. This particular doctor was even saying we could wear safety googles, So glad to see all is well in your world . There is so much to be thankful for.

DeleteI found I have 2 wine tumblers, because I had not been drinking wine much. Now I alternate them every day.
ReplyDeleteWe have drifted away from going to church, but are strong in faith and worship. How wonderful you have connected with your church!
I once worked for a lady who had a most eclectic collection of wine glasses - some in bright colors. What she'd choose depended on what mood J. happened to be in at day's end.
