I so enjoy Marie's weekly 'favorites' posts -- and because I don't spend time on Pinterest much anymore -- I've decided to do the same thing. (This is still Friday, right?)
To borrow her phrase, here are some things which pluck at my heart strings, make me smile or that I just enjoy. A baker's dozen, as it were. Today's collection are those things found in and around our home --
Chapstick total hydration with a bit of color … moist, amazingly affordable!
Love the scent of eucalyptus … and it feels darn invigorating!
Remember Alberto V05? That was a fixture in my parent's home! Because my hair has the consistency of an overly-ripe dandelion, this is a great compromise. I also love using it on my dry, flaking cuticles.

Old doorknobs and doilies.
Our realtor's husband affixed three of these vintage doorknobs to a weathered slab of wood and hung in her bathroom as a towel rack. Now, of course, I'm on the look-out!
Lemon grass. Word on the street says it's great for repelling mosquitoes. If so, I need these woven into a bodysuit!

You got me on the door knobs, what a great idea. I must say just seeing the 'glass ware you grew up with', made me think of our cabinet now. It holds the glasses I grew up with, thru two or three families, now they are ours.

By the way, my Mom always used coconut soap and cream.
You're right - lemon grass is supposed to repel mosquitoes. I have no idea if it really works.

DeleteThose lemon grass pots look too big and heavy to repel mosquitoes. Why not use a rolled up newspaper, or something much lighter to handle?
ReplyDeleteWhat is Parm Crisp? Is it parmesan cheese? We don't seem to have this in the UK. I mean ... we have parmesan cheese; but not the crisps.
Never seem a potato masher before. I know about wooden dough roller's; but never seen such a weapon as a potato masher.
You don't see people using doilies any more. Now they use handkerchiefs in their top jacket pocket.

Giggling! My DIL makes something similar to the crisps, simply by baking thin strips of cheese on parchment paper. Resourceful!
Deletethis was a great idea, my problem is I have taken and shown photos of everything in my house. I am looking around to see if there is one item I have not already posted.. love the stars on the curtains and the tater masher. LOVE the photo in the wonky photo.... I will look for the parm crisps, have not seen them. looks like they might be in the bakery area where I get my Vegan Bites. ha ha on the suit of lemon grass.... I enjoyed seeing what you love....

ReplyDeleteThe only places I've seen the crisps (here in Alabama) is Publix's deli. Not sure what grocery chains are in your neck of the woods.
