How are y'all?
Me? Currently I'm …
Reading
There's a few waiting in the wings, but I've been too busy felt too wired to sit still. (No, the audio books haven't worked for me; I get too hung up/annoyed by the narrator's voice.)
Watching
I'm so excited for the AGT finals! 'Thought by now I'd have a favorite - maybe two. But no; I'm more confused than ever. What/who is your favorite?
Pondering
Is it just me? Or does anyone else struggle to open a Band-Aid ... then wind up throwing it away because the sticky ends get all twisted?
I wonder if Johnson & Johnson is really saving $$$ by eliminating that little red pull-string? (If you're listening, please bring back the string!)
Feeling
Fat. Well, not 'fat-fat' exactly ... but standing on the scale this morning was a wake-up call.
In the Kitchen
???
Looking for Keto-friendly recipes for the slow-cooker.
Grateful for
The way my granddaughter's wedding turned out Saturday morning! A bit of a hurry-up affair, yes. As we speak, Josh's parents are headed to the Ukraine and (understandably) he didn't want to be married without them.
Still, my son and Lois out-did themselves! Their home and grounds looked professionally manicured ,,, even Mother Nature blessed us with a beautiful morning.
If you're on Facebook, I've added more pix on my page (CLICK), but want to share some favorites here:
Son and Lois
Molly Jane: Dog of Honor
20 years sista-sisters!
Two by blood, another by heart: Caitlin, Sarah, Chloe
Isn't her dress lovely? Simple, but elegant … and found on-line for only $20!
OK, I'm probably biased, but I don't think they could have found a prettier venue!
Outside my Window
There are no obvious signs of Autumn just yet … but I can smell it in the early morning air. Yesssss!
Looking Forward to
Tom is being fitted with hearing aids on Wednesday. I never really believed we'd see the day!

Never, ever forget 9/11 !!!
Have yourselves a great day, friends … be safe!
Hugs,
Myra

Congrats to your granddaughter and her husband! Lovely couple!! I think sometimes weddings that get "thrown" together without "too" much fuss are the best weddings of all! Wishing them much happiness!!
ReplyDeleteGlad about the hearing aids!
That scale has a way of being nasty at times, doesn't it? But the good thing is it probably is something that will be off your slim body in no time with "healthier" eating choices.
I got your last email and I'll answer it probably tomorrow. Days going by too fast here with adjusting from being back from our trip, hubby home for a few additional days of vacation, and watching the wee one a lot this past weekend :)
betty
Thank you, Betty. Another benefit: Sarah's in graduate school; and now, being married to a 'military man' she will realize a 50% reduction in tuition. Woo-hoo!
DeleteCongrats on your granddaughters wedding!!! It looks like it was beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Ann!
Deleteyour life is about to change forever. those aids will make you happier than they will him. the day after bob got his, he said what is that noise? it was the egg he was frying...
ReplyDeleteI am loving AGT and I can't pick one, I like the magician, the tall crow guy, the fiddler and the couple on the trapeze. I have no one favorite.
my friend loves listening to audio books, they make me crazy.. for the same reason. I find myself saying the words to see if I sound better. not for me... besides I have a problem with listening to others talk. you might remember that about me
LOL!!! So far, I'm partial to the two stand-up comics and the magician. 'Not necessarily my favorites, but trying to figure who someone would most likely pay to go see in Vegas.
DeleteEnjoyed visiting with you today, your grand-daughter was a beautiful bride.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mary! Please visit anytime! :)
DeleteCongratulations on your grand-daughter's wedding. God bless them always.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to you and your family, Mevely.
God bless you all.
From your lips to His ears, Victor. Thank you!
DeleteOh, I totally agree about the band-aides!! Beautiful bride!! That dress is AMAZING and for only $20?!! Wow. I can't listen to audio books. My mind wanders after 4-5 minutes. I enjoyed your post, Myra! Love & hugs!
ReplyDeleteSo happy I'm not a Lone Ranger with the Band-Aids... lol! Ya, my granddaughter is a bit stingy. That's good, right?
DeleteI've watched every season of AGT. This year hasn't seemed as strong or exciting as previous years, but maybe I'm getting jaded. My favorite act is the skinny young girl who sang "I Feel Good". Haven't seen much of her, but I get the same vibes about her as I did that ventriloquist from last year (Darcy Lynn?).
ReplyDeleteArlee Bird
Tossing It Out
Yes! Darcy Lynn was/is great! My hubby likes that young lady, too. I was never a fan of Janis Joplin but must admit, hers is a definite talent.
DeleteYour granddaughter is beautiful, Myra! Congrats to this sweet couple, and may they enjoy many blessed years together.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you!
Thank you so much!!!
DeleteWhat a beautiful day for a wedding and congrats to the happy couple. He is a tall one for sure. I imagine he'd stand out in any crowd. Congrats to you too on gaining a grandson! I'm watching the news at ground central in NYC as they read the names of those that died in 911. It's a fitting tribute as we remember !
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pam! Ya, Josh is 6'8" or 6'9" (not sure). I'm happy the media still acknowledges and pays homage to those who perished on 9/11.
DeleteYes, yes, YES!!! I always struggle with Band-Aids, in fact it just happened again a few days ago. It's nearly impossible to unwrap one. I think they were designed by sadists, who love to make wounded people struggle.
ReplyDeleteI'm all for reviving the old red pull-string. (I thought I was the only one who remembered them).
Wedding congratulations to your Granddaughter. That's a really lovely dress for $20. What a bargain!
Nope, I'm a dinosaur … with an elephant's memory for the trivial, the mundane. Thank you so much for the congrats!
DeleteYour granddaughter looks lovely. Her dress was beautiful. Congratulations to the happy couple.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
Deletewedding congratulation to your granddaughter.
ReplyDeletehave a great day
Thank you!
DeleteBeautiful bride and handsome groom, surrounded with family and friends and the dog! How wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI don't curse at those band-aids, but come close.
Popped over from Rick's blog. Enjoyed your writing.
Why, thank you! … It's nice to meet you, Susan.
DeleteI think I have one or two favorites on AGT. Are you on Pinterest? Lot's of recipes there. A wedding, how wonderful. Congratulations! I hope they have a lovely life together.
ReplyDeleteYes, I joined Pinterest .. but haven't been there in a long time. Good suggestion!
DeleteI do love a good book and have listened to audio before when I don't have time to read. But like you, if the voice doesn't grab me I'll move on to another one. AGT! Ok there are a few favorites Shin Lin is great, some good singers as well, I do like the choir. What act is your favorite ? Looks like a wonderful wedding with a handsome couple at that!
ReplyDeleteI forgot about the string on the bandaid - You're right they can be a pain to put on.
I'm glad I stopped in!
Saimi
Thanks for asking, Saimi! I loved the choir, but they were voted off last night. Love Daniel (singer) and the two comediennes.
DeleteWow. LOTS of interesting stuff here. Let's see... I LOVE AGT. It's the closest thing we have to the old variety shows that used to be so popular once upon a time. I may not always enjoy every single act, but I do love the smorgasbord of talent. This year, I think the vocalists have been outstanding, but I couldn't begin to narrow it down to my favorite act. The fun will be in watching, and seeing who everybody else chooses. (Nope, I've never cast a vote for any of the contestants.)
ReplyDeleteBand-aids? You nailed it. It usually takes me two tries to get a band-aid properly separated from its paper and onto my boo-boo.
Feeling fat(ish)? No problem. Do what I do. Avoid the scales. (They're all a bunch of liars, anyway.)
The wedding looks absolutely lovely! That "best dog" idea is adorable, and I'm dutifully impressed with the bride's dress. It's beautiful, and I thought I was doing good to only pay forty bucks for my wedding gown... and that was nearly fifty years ago! I'd say your granddaughter did a brilliant job finding that dress. What a deal!
Hearing aids. Hmmm, I WISH my hubby would get them. He's fighting it, even though he KNOWS he needs them. I feel like an interpreter half the time, repeating what other people say to him because he can't hear them. And OY! The volume on the TV! (But you know...)
Take care, and have a super weekend.
What a great commentary, Susan … THANK YOU! Feeling like an interpreter, exactly! Unfortunately, hubby's new aids are misbehaving so we're back to square #1 next Wednesday. Oh vey!

ReplyDeleteLoved the wedding pictures. I got my hearing aids about a year ago and it's been very helpful. I love my audiologist and I've been back several times for a tune-up. My biggest issue is I use a charger -- no more little batteries! -- and I forget to charge them.
