I'm tickled to join Terri for the premiere of Wednesday Medley … won't you play along?
(Aw, thanks. I was hoping you would!)
What would be the most amazing adventure for you to go on?
Oh vey! I've been so blessed to experience extraordinary places and events. Someday, perhaps, I'll share a few.
Nowadays, I'd rather 'adventure' between the pages of a book.
Name 5 song that you have completely memorized.
All favorites …
Puff the Magic Dragon
Sweet Caroline
The Way we Were
Sweet Home Alabama
The National Anthem
What takes up too much of your time.
Facebook
What TV show or movie do you refuse to watch?
Anything depicting harm to an animal. A few years ago I completely lost it when National Geographic showed a lion hunting a pack of unsuspecting zebras. Instead of sounding an alert, the idiot videographer just kept on filming.
What's worth spending more on to get the best?
There's little I need/want in the way of material things, but I've a real fondness for good beef. (Hellman's and Charmin, too!)
Tell us something random you want us to know about your new week.
I'm praying that Tom's audiologist is able to make things right tomorrow! His new aids are purported to do everything except wash the dishes … but (among other things) they randomly emit this awful high-pitched frequency that causes the dogs to bark and me to make unpleasant remarks.

Thanks for visiting! Take good care ... be safe!
Hugs,
Myra

ReplyDeleteI have been dealing with those high pitched notes for about 15 years now. it is caused when he touches it by accident, with head leaning on something and also appears for no reason while riding in the passenger seat. he can't hear it and can't understand why I hate it. so glad to hear from someone else who hears it.. hope they can train him on what to do. bob does something but I don't know what.
ReplyDeleteI agree about the Natural Geo shows, I don't watch any of them because of the camera people watching it happen. I don't want to see the food chain as it works. I don't want to see elephants dead from hunters, I don't want to see baby animals starving, .
it is sad but there is no a song I have memorized. there are many hymns that I can sing with as long as someone else knows the words. the problem is, when I listen to a song, I don't hear the words, I hear the music, the melody and the beats. I can pick out any song with one finger on a piano and never had lessons. no words though.
"I don't hear the words, I hear the music, the melody and the beats." OMW, you and Tom are exactly alike! Because I'm all about the lyrics, he and I've had several 'animated discussions' about that very thing.
DeleteHoping Tom's hearing aids work wonderfully for him, and for you and the dogs, Myra. My mother has hearing aids, and I can so identify with that horrid squealing from time to time.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Thank you so much! I suppose the aids are a mixed blessing, then?
DeleteNice to see your Wednesday post ! I'm willing to pay more for the most comfortable pair of shoes. I skimp on a lot of things but my feet are very picky. I do hope the proper adjustments to the hearing aids can be made to keep harmony in your home. I'm sure Tom does too. This week is all about saying goodbye to summer for me. The fall decorating is done and I'm now working on changing out the closet. Hope you have a wonderful week !
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pam! My mother was that way about her shoes, too. Me, I just go with what's cheapest. (LOL) I'm so ready to bid Summer farewell; it's supposed to be 95 again today.
DeleteHad to laugh at the graphic, it happens to me all the time!!
ReplyDeleteYou're in good company, Mary!
DeleteI'm sure with time the audiologists will be able to fine tune the hearing aids. I bet the dogs are wondering what the "heck" is going on. At least you know they can hear :)
ReplyDeleteI may be funny with spending more on to get the best, but for me it would be Pine-Sol cleaner. Can't go with the generic brand, got to be the brand name. Like that pine smell after I have cleaned to linger for a bit so those around know that I have cleaned.
Sounds like a cute new meme!
betty
LOL … I remember my mother used Pine Sol all the time. After our visit today, they're sending one of the aids back to be re-finessed/whatever!
DeleteWe too have been blessed to go on some wonderful adventures which I keep thinking maybe I will write about and never do. I'm with you on the animal shows. I also can't watch the SPCA commercials. It breaks my heart.
ReplyDeleteI suppose we should, Nonnie. Still, I fear some people would think I'm bragging. Simply a different season, a different cast of characters.
DeleteI think one should never buy a cheap mattress. Buy the best.
ReplyDeleteI can sing the first line of most songs, and that is about as good as it gets.
You're right about the mattress, of course. I've come real close to ordering, but hate to spend the money right now.
DeleteThanks for joining in, Myra! Oh my goodness! Joe's hearing aids make that noise sometimes too and it makes me crazy! Loved reading your answers.
ReplyDelete... and thank you for doing this, Terri! The audiologist told us today this is going to be a process; there's no magic bullet.
DeleteGirl, you definitely get the prize for the most awesome song list! Good beef is definitely worth it. I love a good steak! Oh, ouch! I hope Tom's hearing aids get straightened out. That must be awful for him, too.
ReplyDeleteHa … thanks, Stacy! Now, of course, I'm thinking, "I wish I'd put xxx or xxx."
Deletei hope Tom's audiologist has a solution .to that high pitched noise bothering you and the dogs.
ReplyDeleteI think she getting there! The left aid's gone back for tweaking 'til mid-October!
DeletePraying for Tom and all of you.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Thank you so much, Victor … that means a lot.
DeleteI hope the audiologist got things straightened out for you guys. (But ya should've held out for a hearing aid that DID do the dishes...)
ReplyDeleteFunny, but I've memorized a bazillion old songs. The newer ones? Not so much.
Have a super weekend.
Me, too! I actually heard my parents coming out of MY mouth the other day, "You can't understand what that singer is saying."
DeleteI'd love to visit Washington DC. Those are good song choices. I can't watch those animal shows. I agree with your Hellman's and Charmin. (our Hellman's is called Best Foods) I hope Tom's appointment went well.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debby! True story: When we moved to Phoenix in '04 I was getting soooo cross, not being able to find a single, stinkin' jar of Hellman's anywhere. Tom thought that was SO funny.
DeleteOh, and do you remember that advertising jingle? "Bring out the Hellman's and bring out the Best." Didn't make sense until I read the label, "Sold as 'Best' west of the Mississippi."
DeleteThis is a cute little meme to do! I'll have to check it out. I loved the little cartoon that accompanied your songs. I will admit to laughing out loud
