….. all about me!
(*smile*)
As mentioned in yesterday's post ….
When sleep won't come, I've begun trying to fill my mind with pleasant thoughts.
Sad, but I have to agree ….. most folks find it easier to identify things they hate dislike v. what brings them joy.
So, I gave myself a little homework: Identify 10 things I love (or strongly like) -- one for each letter of the alphabet. Harder than I first imagined, I'm still struggling to complete my F's!
In no particular order, here are my (right now) ABC's.
A is for --
Amarone
Alabama!
ABBA
Aspens
Autumn
Avocados
Afghans
Aniseed
Austrian Alps
Artichoke-Spinach dip
B is for --
Blogging
Brisket
Bubble gum
Bubble gum
Books
Bologna sandwiches
Butter rum Lifesavers
Bellavitano
Butterscotch pudding
Breckenridge, Co.
Black/white photography
C is for --
Cheesecake
Cruising
Coffee
Country Music (old, real country)
Cheddar (sharp)
Copper ware
Cabernet Savignon
Cold weather
Christmas
Conecuh sausage

Does this little exercise sound like something you'd like to do? I'd sure enjoy hearing your answers!
Happy Tuesday … be safe!
Hugs,

Your ABC;s really makes one think. I'm good at counting my blessings instead of sheep, but breaking them down by alphabetical order might just keep me awake. But if it helps you , don't stop doing it. Better by far to be thankful for what we have than stay awake worrying about what we don't have.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! Counting one's blessings is a wonderful exercise.
DeleteI like the things that bring you joy!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Debby!
DeleteGreat idea. And you are loving some great things. Makes me hungry and thirsty!! I am trying to catch up on blog reading today!
ReplyDeleteYa, so much food and beverage. Funny reflection on my priorities!
DeleteI can identify with everything you mentioned except bologna and bubble gum.
ReplyDeleteBubble gum was great when I was a kid, but nowadays it would probably extract what's left of my teeth. And if I didn't chew bubble gum when I was a kid, my teeth would be in better condition today.
Avocados, autumn, the Alps, ABBA, sharp cheddar cheese, cheese cake, books, cold weather...yes,yes,yes.
And even though I'm a tea person, I still love coffee - especially the aroma on a cold morning.
What, no thick German bologna slices on black bread with onion and mayo? It's been years since I indulged in bubble-gum, but I wouldn't turn down a piece right now.
DeleteObviously I've been eating the wrong bologna. I always get the cheap store-brand garbage that is probably made with chicken beaks and feet.
DeleteCountry Music (old, real country).
ReplyDeleteYou mean Waylon Jennings, Tompal Glazer, Tom T Hall, Merle Haggard, Jim Ed Brown, Bobby Bare, Shel Silverstein, Don Williams?
Great ... they recorded some of the best songs.
God bless.
Exactly! ('Tho I had to Google Shel Silverstein to make sure you weren't pulling my leg!) Don't forget Patsy and Willie.
DeleteI do deep breathing and dismiss thoughts without acknowledging them.
ReplyDeleteMost of the time this works but not always.
I'd forgotten about deep breathing exercises! I'll have to try that.
DeleteI love your list, Myra! I don't know as I will join you in this exercise, but if it works for you, by all means, keep it up!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Thank you so much!
