So how the heck are y'all this fine Saturday morning?
This week's been a mixed bag --
everything from another diagnostic (test) ... to air conditioner woes ... to plumbing mishaps.
On the bright side -- my (medical) techie was amazing; I experienced absolutely no discomfort and practically waltzed across the parking lot to my car.
Thanking the good Lord for same day service techs who made our home comfortable again. Sure, we could have used that $$$$ to better use, but like I told Tom, we can't take it with us.

Oh! Just the other day Macie and Grace discovered two feral felines and a litter of kittens under Tom's tractor shed. Eeeeek!
Fortunately, our next-door neighbor works with a local rescue; last I heard she's put out food and water.

For someone who thought she'd totally lost her passion for reading,
I've dared to hope it's comin' back round the mountain.
For the first time in a long time, last night I was asking my eyes to slow down, not wanting "Before We Were Yours" to end. Based on a true story, there's heartbreak ... but by the last chapter I was hiccupping happy tears!

Well, I'd better get up and do some yard work before it rains again. Poor little Grace's legs are so short, she's afraid to step off the patio to piddle!

Still laughing at the top joke because I just vacuumed and feel like I'd ridden my motorbike 200 miles. I am whipped, my right shoulder hurts, and all I wanna do is sit here with lots of coffee. Ugh!

I too am laughing at the top joke..a close friend just sent me one: She said: I'm getting to the age where it's rude to pull out a bottle of ibuprofen if I don't have enough for everyone! LOL. Glad your test was easy and praying for great results. We went through those AC issues last year...and like you said it cost $$$$ for these kinds of things. BUT...how blessed we are to have air. those are some cute little pies and looks like the perfect size for one or two people. I need to find a gro store around her that has them. Enjoy this beautiful weekend..it's already HOT here.
ReplyDeleteThanks to Alaska we’ve cooled down here to H70’s/low 80’s but tomorrow Alaska leaves and it’s back to summer.I plan to take advantage of the coolness and get some things done, like vacuuming!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that the feral cats discovered by your intrepid pups will be going to a rescue shelter, Myra. The book sounds wonderful, but if I order one more book before deciding how to give away some, there won't be any room on any bookshelf - LOL! Have a beautiful and blessed weekend!
ReplyDeleteWell, I had a decent nights sleep and didn't cough at all, Dave didn't either for the first night in 3 weeks. We are really worn down. I guess this getting old brings on new and continuing aches and pains. 81 and 83 are the new normal. Loved every minute of our family week but I have to admit I'm glad we are back to our own routine.
ReplyDeleteOur sprinkler system fell apart last night. 2 knobs broke at the worst place ever. Going to have to "Gerry-rig" the hose and faucet to help our dry yard. Can't afford a plumber so its onward and upward.
Glad your Dr. appt. went so well and I love those small pies too. Doesn't make me feel so guilty having a snack.
The book piqued my interest. Thanks for the tid bit.

I just got rid of our old vacuum cleaner. It only gathers dust. My wife said it sucks.

I do love fruit pies. I don't think we have small ones over here. So I buy one and have it for breakfast, lunch and evening meal. A balanced diet.
It's such a blessing when a trades-person turns up the same day. Grateful for the electrician who did so when our security lights were accidentally broken by a careless builder's ladder.

Yes, those small pies are a blessing! I no longer vacuum, Kaitlin convinced me to have Merry Maids come in once every two weeks. I'm glad she did! 😊

Glad your tests went well. And you are right - you can't take it with you, and a/c is a must. We are having HOT temperatures this week - can't say I like them.

ReplyDeleteBob loves those little apple pies, and I am laughing with everyone else on the vac thing, even though I am doing many things I never do, and doing well doing it, vacuum is not one of the things I can do. It just kills me. that and the lawn mower.

ReplyDeleteI don't know how I ever lived before air conditioning, It is very needed here in Texas. But we know there are many who survived well without it. Glad you got someone good to service yours. Thank goodness for your neighbors help with the cats. I do know what it's like to have them around. Take care and don't work to hard in the yard! Love, ma
ReplyDeleteOh, "Before We Were Yours" is one of those unforgettable books, especially because it is based on a true story that is so unbelievable. Yes, I love that book too, but it was a hard one to read. I've told our blogging friend Linda from "Linda's Life Journal" that her real life story she is writing reminds me of this book in many ways. If you haven't read her story, you need to go back to the beginning of her chapters and read it from the start. You will see what I mean. Regarding doing the chores, etc., yes, it is a chore to do chores! My body doesn't manage them very well any more. Wish I could afford a housekeeper! Oh, I'm glad you made it through your doctor appointment, etc. Hope everthing is ok. OH no! Feral kittens? I hope your friend will do whatever needs to be done for them. So glad she stepped in. I've been through that before. I hope your kittens will have a happy life. Mini apple pies are a great idea. I may have to try that. We can't eat a whole pie alone anymore either, and we shouldn't even try! LOL. Hope you are keeping cool on this very hot Sunday afternoon.
