Watercooler Wednesday

 ..... May edition

Let's do an "Either Or" today.  Your choice!
(There's no bonus points for answering both ... but I think that would be fun.)

😎

1.  You've been given a $100 gift certificate to your favorite department store.   Where are you headed first?  (Sorry, no groceries or cleaning products allowed!)

2.  What (or who) is something you've changed your mind about over the years?

I'll share my answers in the comments.
I look forward to reading yours!

Hugs, Myra

  1. 1. Socks. Whimsical or practical ... I can't get enough!
    2. Jelly Roll. I won't be streaming his music anytime soon, but I'm no longer recoiling whenever I see him.

  2. 1. Over here $100 would go well at Marks and Spencer. Plenty of nice clothes.

    2. I have changed my mind about evolution. Looking around me, I am convinced that we have evolved from cauliflowers.

    God bless.

  3. Most likely.....I would spend my $100 at home goods. I love decorating and home decor and Home Goods is one of my favorite stores for this kind of thing. After watching many seasons of "Survivor" I have changed my mind about this being a show I can't miss out on. Sometimes it is difficult to take in some very unusual personalities. js

    1. While I've never seen Survivor, there's several TV shows that leave me wondering, "What was I thinking?"

  4. I'd probably get shoes or perfume. I love both, and like to get comfortable shoes and my favorite fragrances for gifts. I did get a gift card for Mother's Day and got two new pair of shoes! I hope your week is treating you well! Love, ma

  5. I can't say I have a favorite department store. I do like shopping at Target but not for clothes. It was Macy's at one time. Now I shop online.

    1. I no longer patronize Target, but love to shop online.

  6. Sheets! Or maybe even just one sheet, but I do love really nice sheets ( only for my bed, the rest of the beds in the house get subpar sheets)
I give people so many chances that I allow them many opportunities to change my mind for me.

  7. If someone gifted me $100 gift card, I’d buy something nice for my home that I could point to and remember that person by.
“Back in the day” I used to love John Lennons, “Imagine”Now I no longer can stomach it because it is a hopeless song that goes against Christianity.

    2. Great answers, Debby. I'm 100% with you on the original by JL. So thankful our friend Victor introduced his readers to Fr. Francis' version. I'm so glad you shared the link here.

    3. It’s a shame JL couldn’t have chosen those words instead of the ones he did - Imagine the impact he would have made if he had! Love the revised version! ❤️

  8. I would definately shop at Hobby Lobby, that store always makes me happy. Something I've changed my mind about is not coming easy..;..hmmm...I guess it's cell phones. I used to hate them, now I tolerate them because that's all there is!! I'm always laying mine down somewhere then walking off and leaving it there, then when I need it, I can't find it. My family fusses at me all the time. BooHIss. This was fun, hope you're having a good day.☺♥

  9. If I got a $100.00 gift card I would probably get something for my Hubby and for my self. Probably some new blouses that fit and some jeans that fit my hubby better.
Simple things like broccoli used to be on my NO list. Now I love it with butter and lemon.
My facial expressions used to show my feelings (not good ones) I really try to curb the "facial words".
Victor's comment cracked me up..cauliflower evolution HaHa

    1. I just steamed a big head of broccoli last night to snack on when I get the urge to munch. My fav is dipped in Marie's bleu cheese dressing.

  10. $100? Probably order something off of Amazon, Myra. I can't tell you when the last time was when I went shopping intentionally for anything for me. Your answer about Jelly Roll made me chuckle. Have a blessed day!

  11. 1. $100 would go far at County Farm Plants in Baxley (Georgia). I could not NUTS in there. lol
    2. Changed my mind about how good Public Education is. It isn't. Sad, that. 😎

  12. 1. Golly, I've looked at everyone's answers to this and there are some great ones. I'm still scratching my head about what I would buy with the $100.00 I do need some new comfortable shoes, but that seems so utilitarian. I love buying flowering plants for the garden, but then I have to keep them alive somehow, but I enjoy them when they really do catch on and start growing, so maybe that's what I'd look for...something special for the garden.
    2. Changed my mind about...I'm drawing a blank. Maybe the internet. There's a lot I DON'T like for certain, but without it we wouldn't be here talking right now! Without our blogging and Facebook we'd be missing out on a lot of lovely friends that we may never meet in person, but who still enrich our lives every day. So I try to look at only the good things about the internet, and avoid the bad stuff as much as possible!!
This was delightful! Thank you, Myra! You are a joy!

    1. Thank you, dear friend! BTW, I think I just stumbled on something in FB where the only posts I see are those from my friends. I have to reset every morning, but my blood pressure thanks me for it!

  15. I could easily spend $100 at Hobby Lobby. Seems I'm not alone... Gosh... changed my mind? I'm so set in my ways. Contrary and stubborn. Nothing comes to mind that I've changed my mind about recently, anyway. Thanks for the fun post, Myra!

  16. I haven’t been in a department store in years. Amazon is my “go to”and my splurges are usually books, both Kindle and audiobooks because of my eyestrain.

    1. What my parents wouldn't have given for Amazon back in the day. Instead, it was a carefully planned, semi-annual trip to Fedway in Albuquerque. One of the last great 'department' stores!

  17. I would use my bonus money on a new pair of walking shoes. ($100 wouldn't cover the style that make my finicky feet happy, but would be a nice down payment.)

Years ago there weren't many vegetables I enjoyed. Now I embrace any and all of them.
