What is a childhood habit or preference you will never outgrow?
Even tho' Alabama doesn't boast winter wonderlands like those I enjoyed in northern New Mexico, I still love all things Winter!
Did you know, July is beans month. What's your favorite bean? Your favorite recipe that calls for beans? When it comes to chili are you "Team Beans" or "Team No Beans"?

Chili? We're definitely team "no beans"!
Some historical figures have a tag line after their name -- something like 'the brave' or 'the wise' or 'the mad.' What would your tag line be? Explain why?

Back in July 2008 I'd little idea what exactly was a blog or what to do. Nevertheless -- in spite of numerous stutters and wrong-way turns -- Respice Prospice became a thing, not just an inscription on a locket.
I'm so grateful to y'all .....

ReplyDeletethe way to my heart is dogs (any critter fur with 4 legs will do) and food or used to be, I prefer chili but has to have beans... can't eat it now. I was a dreamer, and a talker and got written up for both. and The mad in my name is not after but BEFORE ha ha.. Happy Blgaversery, I created one post in late 2008 but did not post again until mid 2009 but have not missed much since.
When I read these prompts and saw 'mad', well you know the rest!

DeleteHappy Blogaversary...I think I started in 2005 or 6 at the promptings of my cousin. I had no idea what I was doing but it was a wonderful way to showcase my photographs and get to know friends from all over the world. I have never regretted it.

I was considered creative and always looking out for the ones that didn't quite fit in. I guess I still do that to some extent.
The way to my heart is a cute chubby cheeked baby and I have to admit food..mostly sweets like ice cream..

Deletepostage scale is a real help, weighing and measuring the box will give you costs according to eBay. They give you choices of USPS Ground, Priority, Media etc. Gotta figure in your handling charges too. If you are investing in bubble wrap, padded envelopes, store bought boxes they all add up. People don't want to spend a lot for postage but how else are we suppose to get the product to them? Its a whole different ball game when one is on the Seller end of things. Our last 3 sales were a disaster. One never paid, one cancelled after it sold because they found a cheaper one..One was just a problem from beginning to end. We have had to take a breather because our anger was getting to us. Some people just aren't nice!!
We actually aren't business but just people trying to make a little money and clear out our garage and closets so our kids won't have to do it. We have so many collectibles and vintage (some antiques too). Trying to get the most out of everything. Ok...sorry I'm long winded.

DeleteI did not know what "Respice Prospice" meant until now. I had to look it up when you said it was on a locket. Do you have a post about that? I wasn't around back then when you first started. I didn't get into blogging until 2010. Your plate of "Texas Mexican Food" looks good, unless it is really spicy. I do like refried beans as well. But chili with no beans? I thought that's what made it chili...the beans! LOL. Being a dreamer is not a bad thing. That's probably how most of the inventions of the world got started...someone had to be a dreamer! I wouldn't mind a little bit of winter weather right now...it's so hot out there I could just melt into a little puddle. (actually, a rather large puddle! LOL). Have a lovely day. This was delightful.
ReplyDeleteI don't recall ever making a post specific to my blog name, but (I think) it translates from the Latin - "Learn from the past; look to the future." The locket (originally a gift to my mother) is pictured at the top of this post. I found it in one of those mail-order catalogs years ago!

DeleteBoth of my marriages have been in August. My Mom was born & died in August at the age of 40. When she died I had an almost complete memory loss of her time with me. (There's was a lot of physical & mental abuse from Dad.) Anyway, after much prayer and supplication God allowed me to learn I was still hurting terribly from all that. I was trying to erase the pain by human means. Doesn't work. Only Jesus can heal hearts. And HE did! It doesn't hurt anymore and I don't have to pretend like it didn't happen. What a wonderful Saviour we have!! 💙

DeleteHappy blogaversary to you. I started mine in 2007. My daughter and son in law and their family were in Tennessee, and drove 1 1/2 hours to go to Buck-ees in Alabama...they loved it when they lived in Texas so wanted to visit. Haha.
