G'morning ... happy Saturday!
I've not a lot going on, but wanted to say 'hey.'
You know, it recently occurred to me, Blogville's a lot like a Food Court -- with cozier seating. Most every day I can laugh ... learn ... empathize and yes ... even envy.
I'm come away nourished.
So, yesterday we took Macie Ann to have her stitches removed and learned the tumor they removed was benign. (Thank you, God!) She's such a good-natured little soul. The wounds still look raw and she desperately needs bathed, but I'm not sweating it.
Feeling a little let down that our Bible Study (Hosea) concluded. Nevertheless, this "Gomer girl" will probably be going out on her website and spend $14.99 to stream the series.
If anyone's interested, here's a brief sampling:
Okay. I'll admit there are times my mind gets to wandering. It's not improbable I might miss the Big Picture. My ears did perk up, however, when she spoke about "cords of love" ..... God's boundaries -- and likened them to her little dog's leash.
Are any of you familiar with the Playground Study? I'd never heard of it, but Jennifer talked about an experiment where school children were observed at recess. There in a fenced yard, the children ran this way and that -- playing with gleeful abandon. Yet, when the fencing was removed, they tended to gather together in a group. They huddled. Like God's cords of love, the fencing gave them a sense of security.
What else?
This is me after last night's storms.
Because my back's feeling like our tree looks (above), I'm may hook up the TENS unit and binge-watch Mike Rowe's 'Dirty Jobs.'

Our weeds have turned into a jungle again out in the backyard. My muscles hurt just looking out the window at them. If it would stop raining for a while MAYBE Dave and I could get out there and do some "damage". For now it is going to be just an ugly view.. Sigh..

DeleteThat is wonderful news on the tumor. Yes you should stream it since you liked it so much. That is very interesting about the playground study. That is me too. I have all these ideas and I end up doing nothing. Enjoy your weekend.

DeleteIt’s really crazy about the test with with the fence and without the fence and I think our fence makes me feel safe too I had never really thought about that. Very interesting

What Jennifer says about mirrors is reminiscent of what Paul says in Corinthians 13 - Verse 12:

When we look at a "mirror" we see ourselves as humans with our own views opinions and understandings. We may believe in a Creator God but we do not fully understand Him, nor are meant to. We believe that created in His image means that He, like us, is human looking in body shape. This is not so. He is a Spirit. Created in His image means that we too possess His "qualities" of love, mercy, compassion, forgiveness, generosity etc ... This is what makes us in His image. Those qualities - if we choose to use them. Because of our free will, many prefer instead evil qualities like hatred, jealousy, greed, gluttony and other many sins we can mention. The qualities of the devil which we choose freely to adopt as our way of life.
Hence the mirror. Which qualities do we reflect when we see ourselves and others see us?

And I loved that playground study - when we feel safe and protected, it opens us up to take more risks.

DeleteIt was good to read your newsy post, but so sorry your back is out of sorts. Hope you feel better soon. As one who has suffered back ailments for a long time, I've learned to be very gentle on mine. They do make a lot of pain for sure. Take good care and rest those weary bones. Love, me
