Water Cooler Wednesday

Hi there!

It's that time of year again ... I'm excited to re-open my favorite little red book of posers.

How about a trifecta?
Answer any (or all) you please.

Please?  I'm curious that way.

You've been chosen to host a sensational Christmas celebration on TV.  What three guests (living or deceased) would you have on the show to make it the best Christmas special ever?

🎄

In your opinion, what would be the ideal temperature for Christmas day?

🎄

According to the Biblical Christmas story, Mary was very surprised to learn that she would be bearing the son of God.
What's the best Christmas surprise that you've ever had?

Hugs, Myra

Thanks for all your well-wishes!
Aside from having to drive into Montgomery at 5 yesterday morning, the worst part was hearing I've diverticulosis ... which, all things considered, is the best part!

  2. I had to Google diverticulosis. I hope it can be successfully controlled without any radical diet changes. Keep us posted.
What three people would I want on a Christmas show? How about the Three Wise Men? I'm tired of Perry Como and Bing Crosby.
Christmas weather? 25 degrees and snow.

    Christmas weather?

  3. I would invite Whitney Houston, Kelly Clarkson and YOU to the Christmas show. the show must be here in Florida, the perfect temp would be 75.
My granddaughter was born at 3 pm on Christmas Day, my son and his wife appeared at our house around 11 for Christmas lunch. she said she did not feel well and that she had a lot of water in the bed when they woke up. OMG... Dan rushed her to the hospital at noon, Alyssa came at 3.
oh no on the diverticulosis but better than diverticulitis... Ginny has both and has for years.
did they tell you not to eat food for a few days? so sorry.

    1. I will always love Whitney! No particular warnings from the doc ... I suppose they're counting on me to use common sense. LOLOLOL!

  4. So sorry to hear about the diverticulitis, Myra. Will it require a change in diet? Would love more details so I know how to pray.
Ideal temp at Christmas? 30 with snow! Who would I want to invite on a show? President Trump, Greg Gutfeld and Jesse Watters. I think that would be awesome.
    Blessings!

    1. I love your choices, Martha! I suppose I'll need to lay off the chiles and nuts/seeds, but he doesn't seem overly concerned. Thank you so very much for your prayers; they're felt!

  5. Oh, so sorry about the diverticulosis diagnosis, but that is something that is controllable with appropriate diet usually, and when there are flareups there's antibiotics to heal it. Praying you will find a positive way to keep it under control. Question #1, I would love to see some of the old greats come back for some good Christmas programs...I always loved Andy Williams, Perry Como and I don't know how Christmassy her programs were, but I loved the Carol Burnette show. However, I would love a Christmas special with the Gaither Homecoming group and also some other great Gospel/Sacred Music singers. #2 Ideal temperature on Christmas would be in the upper 60's or low 70's and sunny and bright. (no humidity) #3. Best Christmas surprise ever...I can't think of any particular surprise...they were always wonderful when our families could all be together in peace and harmony and laughter and the true joy of the season. Precious memories of when our three sons were still at home with us...and we could spend time with the grandparents too. Those days are long gone, but they live on in our memories.
Thank you for your post, Myra. I do hope you will feel better soon.

    1. Yes on those Christmas specials. I still miss Andy Williams. Remember when he and the beautiful Claudine were still together with their littles -- beautiful family.
I do feel better, Pam. The pain's actually manageable.

  6. I'll pass on being a host of a program, but the best surprise? Not something I received but a Snoopy watch I bought for Kaitlin when she was a kid. I could hardly wait for Christmas for her to open it. Neat memory!

  7. I'm so sorry to hear about your diagnosis and I hope you are feeling better today!! I agree with Jon above -- I would love to talk to the three Wise Men!

  8. I am praying for your good health right now, Mevely. Please take care.

Regarding your questions; I disagree with Jon above about the 3 Wise Men. Better to have 3 Wise WOMEN. You do know what would have happened if it had been three wise WOMEN instead of men, don't you?

They would have asked for directions, arrived on time, helped deliver the baby, cleaned the stable, made a casserole, and brought disposable diapers as gifts!

Anyway, my three guests are Grouch Marx, Ken Dodd and Cliff Richard. And I'd like you and Tom to be in the audience. I'll tell a few jokes and then introduce them. It would be a great show.

    God bless you, my friend.

    1. Yep, the Wise WOMEN would make short work of the to-do list! Great choice of guests: I've not thought about Groucho in years.

  9. Glad the procedure is done and YES the announcement could have been WORSE. You can handle diverticulosis , you be tough!! But we will say a prayer for YOU as you do handle it.

I would invite YOU and Victor and my mama and Dad. (Mom & Dad are one) Mainly because I would like to meet Victor and because I would just like to see Mom and dad while Victor and you ran things. LOL

  10. I am sorry to learn of your diagnosis but yes, it could be a lot worse. Seeds and nuts are out, I would guess. You can manage it, I'm sure. I'll be praying and please keep us posted. As for the questions, 72* for the Christmas temperature. Christmas special... Carol Burnett, Tim Conway, and John Denver. Christmas surprise... when I got home from a party and "Santa" had already been to the house. I was surprised and sad because I loved seeing it first with my younger sibs, when we all got downstairs on Christmas morning. Love and hugs, my friend!!

  11. So happy for you on their findings. It can be controlled with the proper foods. Hope you feel much better soon. I don't know which guests I'd invite, but would like it to be sunny and dry out with clear roads for the travelers. Don't eat any popcorn or seeds or nuts as was previously said. You will have to check the foods you eat. Hope you and yours have a very Merry Christmas!
