What kind of home do you have, and does it need repair or improvements this year?
Unlike our open concept, high-ceiling Arizona house, most of these rooms are separate, defined. That's something I was looking for.
Since moving here in 2018 it's been a work in progress. Whew. We've had to replace the roof, siding and flood damaged flooring.
Tom also had a vision for the back --
How do you accessorize your home inside and out? Plants, art, books, wall hangings, maybe music in the background?
Hahahaha!
There's little likelihood Better Homes and Gardens will come looking for a photo shoot. No, we just surround ourselves with those things we love and don't worry about someone else's idea of decor.
What objects reside on your coffee table? Night stand? Side tables? Kitchen/Dining table?
Besides reading lamps, the usual: remotes, cell phones, reading material, coffee cups. And my ever evolving to-do lists. I love lists!
Do you like your kitchen organized and with counters cleared off -- or do you prefer to have the things you use often out on counters? Do you mind what some might see as clutter, or do you hate having to dig out tools and appliances when it comes times to use them and prefer to have them within easy reach?
I'd love an uncluttered kitchen!
I'd also love to win the lottery, but the chances of that happening are about the same.
Ours cabinets are aging, in need of a new finish. (Not unlike us!)
But they do the job and I'm grateful.
once again, I find most of your answers are the same as mine. except i like open , you like walls, but the rest would be my answer. the only things on my tables are necessary lamps, a box to hold remotes, no coffee table at all. the table by the end of the sofa where Bob Lives, has at this moment, foot cream, aloe gel, nail files, finger nail clippings, 4 used hearing aid batteries, 2 used toothpics, used paper towel, glass of water, nose drops. my table has coffe and the box of remotes. forgot he has his remote with all the stuff. yes it drives me crazy and has for 39 years.

About what the house needs, total remodel of both bathrroms and kitchen. at least 40,000 and all new paint, carpet or flooring. I smiled at your kitchen because it is mine. the things I use every day, like pill bottles, water glass,coffee maker, toaster, ninja oven and a little other junk, but most is clear, no clutter and I to use the empty diswasher hold for storage/microwave, no curtain but that is because of the microwave which is the most used appliance we have.
I am going you with the lottery chances and my kitchen being uncluttered. If you don't keep it on the counter what do you do with the things you use every single day?
ReplyDeleteI am so happy to see you here. It has been a while since I blogged. Need motivation but I am grateful I stopped by Tuesday4. Always lots of fun. Dreams and lottery winners are far fetched but still one can romantize about it all. hahaha Hope you and Tom are doing well. I put up posts at each blog today. I feel overwhelmed somedays and the cruel Jury Commissioner lady sent me a notice for this Monday. since the death of our SIL upset her perfect schedule. I do not believe justice is served in our country any longer. But I am quite tempted to ask if the jurors chosen are one sided from the previous presidential election. I am happy to see you here.

ReplyDeleteI love your kitchen. You have a lot of cabinets, and it looks very well designed and pretty! The main thing is to enjoy our homes the way we like them. Fix what we have to, and do the best we can with what we have to work with. I know I would love being in your home, because you are there!!!!

Oh my goodness - feel I know you better after this. We are a lot alike. I had walls - now I don't - and I think I kind of miss them. Love your patio. I have stuff out everywhere!

We live in an apartment and it’s my playpen, not a show piece. I’ve been happy here for about 48 years now. Plenty of warm memories.

I think your cabinets look splendid, Myra! Yes, with a house, there is always, always some home improvement that needs doing. So glad we recently got our decks done; now, if the weather would warm up so we can actually enjoy them.

I agree about surrounding yourself with the things you love. I have my dad's recliner and though it takes up room, it makes me think of my dad. You are lucky to have so much cabinet space!
ReplyDeleteAfter living in an open plan space for years I sure do think separate spaces would be a plus! I like your comfy looking kitchen.
ReplyDeleteMy home is small, yet has everything I need. I rent so don't make repairs. That is up to my landlord. It's cozy and comfortable. I'm all about comfort and make everything as cozy as I can. I agree about using what you love as far as decorating your home. That makes it all the more yours. It's always something when you own a home, it all takes time and lots of money too. One step at a time and you'll get there. Love, ma
