Tuesday 4 - at last, Autumn

It's time again for Tuesday 4, held in memory of Toni Taddeo, its founder and previous host.  Thank you so much for joining in and helping to keep this alive!  It is much appreciated!

Let's discuss ....

Do lower temperatures bother you or make you uncomfortable?  Or, are you more of a warm climate person?

Bring on the cold!

Okay.  I'll give you, no-one enjoys being chilled to the bone.  But unlike trying to cool off summer's icky sweat,  getting warm is so pleasurable!

I'm thinking of sipping a hot toddy before a roaring fireplace.  Sleeping under 2-3 weighty quilts.  Thick savory stews.
What else?

Do you like the colors associated with Autumn?  Clothing wise, do they look good on you?

You're talking my favorite colors!
I don't know if they look good on me but wearing them makes me feel happy.  Perhaps that translates?

Would you rather --

Get lost in a corn maze or go on a hayride?
Visit an apple orchard or a pumpkin patch?
Eat a caramel apple or a candy apple?
Cinnamon buns or pumpkin muffins?

I've always wanted to go on a hayride!
Pumpkin patch
How about, I eat the caramel off and give you the apple?
Cinnamon all the way!

There are 7,500 varieties of apple.  What is your favorite, and do you like apple pie?

I'm not fond of apples ...
but there's nothing like a good pie crust!

Thanks for visiting ...
Prayers for all in the path of Hurricane Ian!

Hugs, Myra

  2. Good answers. Especially the one about clothing. Wear what you like not what other people say. Be yourself and independent. I still wear a tie with my pyjamas. It's called style.

It's getting cold here in the UK. Autumn has arrived.

    God bless.

  3. It's definitly fall in Ohio and I've had to turn the heat on in the house. Warmer clothing is a necessity. I do love the colors of fall. There is no doubt they are all a favorite of mine. Especially red. I love all the tastes and smells, right now pumpkin spice, but I also love apple. Going to an apple orchard is one of my favorite things to do. We have plenty of them close by. Hope you have an amazing Fall! Love, ma

  4. Wow, who knew there were so many types of apples!! Remember in years past how women would get their colors done based on the colors of the season? Like people were summer, winter, fall or spring? Maybe you are a fall, lol :) I remember being a winter when I wore more spring colors lol. I'm looking for a pumpkin patch place to take grandson. We'll do a hayride and pick out a pumpkin for you :)

  5. I am laughing because Bob's favorite pie is apple and I don't eat apple pie, but love HIS CRUST. he breaks off the edge because he doesn't like the crust. I have in the past baked a frozen crust and eaten just the crust. I am a medium cold person. despise heat. its easier to get warm than to cool off. My cold though is FL cold, wake up to 60 and goes to 72. I sleep better if it is cold enough I can pull a blanket up under my chin. we don't use heat at night. I went on a hay ride, pulled by a tractor, was no impressed and do not want to do another one. sitting in a trailer on hay on a floor. NOPE.

    1. Great minds! If we were on the Newlywed Game I'd probably say apple is Tom's favorite, too.

  6. I think these were fun questions this week and I agree with you, getting warmer is much nicer than cooling down. My daughter called me this morning and they have been ordered to evacuate. Definitely praying.

  7. Okay, I'm still pondering the notion that there are supposedly 7,500 varieties of apples. Sometimes I think they make these numbers up.

I'd like to go on a long, peaceful hayride.....and visit a pumpkin patch and an apple orchard. I remember the heavenly scent of the orchards in Apple Valley, CA when I was a child.
    Pumpkin muffins!!

    1. I strongly suspect you're right about those numbers, Jon. I've never been to an apple orchard, but will take your word for it.

  9. I am not an apple pie lover. I'll take a good cobbler over pie any day of the week. I do like custard pies, however!! When I was a teen in MYF (Methodist Youth Fellowship) we did hayrides a lot. Always fun. Love & hugs, dear friend! xo

  12. I'm with you on good pie crust. It really makes the pie. And I like your fall description of quilts, stews.. yes. Love those things.

  13. We are thinking the same when it comes to fall. I just bought a bottle of apple cinnamon hot toddy syrup to make hot toddies as soon as it gets cold enough.

  14. No one can make a pie crust better than the ones my mother used to make, although I do need to try and learn, Myra. I do love the colors of Fall, but no, with my blue eyes, I can't wear browns or oranges. Have you felt the cooler air yet over in 'Bama? It's delicious here in GA.
    Blessings!

  15. I think often, if a color or something makes us happy, then it ends up looking good on us, and I also think we are going to not be drawn to things that truly do not flatter us. Enjoyed your answers.
