What is/are your favorite coffee? (brand or flavor?)
I'm fairly addicted to *$'s dark French Roast pods. But given increasing costs -- not to mention the company's woke culture -- I'm hoping to find an as-good alternative.
If you are a tea lover, which tea is the best for you?
Sorry, I've not yet succeeded in finding a rich, full-bodied tea that satisfies.
How do you take your coffee or tea? Sugar, cream, flavoring?
99% of the time, I'm a 'straight-up-black' type.
The other 1%, I could go for one of these -- probably Sorority Girl. How about you?
Do you go out for coffee/tea with friends? Ever enjoy a real tea room or a tea party?
I can't wait for my friend Sharon to feel strong enough to accompany me to Cornerstone Coffee in tiny Eclectic.
Normally, if you were to suggest I drive 25 miles (one way) for a cup of coffee I'd call you nuts. From what I've heard about this mother-daughter, Christian-based enterprise, however, I'm seriously longing to visit.
Tea room? I've been to a couple with friends -- more for the camaraderie than the atmosphere/food. Just call me 'Clara' -- Where's the beef?
If you could design a coffee shop or even a coffee/tea station in your home, what would it be like?
Our home's far too small to accommodate such a station!
Granted, I've not yet seen Cornerstone Coffee -- but their pictures (lifted from the web) check all my boxes.

Deletefor many years we had only Folgers Dark, changed to Maxwell House French roast dark, now we are both addicted to Great Value 100% Arabic DARK. it is 10.99 for 20 oz. when we started during 2020 it was 7.99. now that the others are back on the shelf, even though Max is 4 dollars cheaper, we treat ourselves to what we love.
ReplyDeleteI prefer coffee at home, have never found a tea i love, but gag down a cup of peppermint organic each morning. I am one of the rare persons on the planet that doesn't like Starbucks coffee and twice have poured it down the sink while hiding from the two persons who brought it back to me even though i said no to it. I would love to meat in the coffee shop but only for the company not the coffee.. I say buy what you love, life is short. I was only in a tea house once, just wandering around.
I remember that story about you pouring out the Starbucks ... hahahha! Someone gave me one of these fill-it-yourself pods so I may have to try the Great Value.
DeleteI do love my morning coffee and use k cups in my coffee maker. I like a variety of coffees and trying out new flavors. Right now I have Green Mountain moving blend to enjoy, but it's not the only favorite of mine. I drink my coffee black which gives you the true taste of the coffee. I even like iced coffee in the summer time. It's very refreshing. There is a lemon tea that I do enjoy in the winter when i have a cold. It soothes the throat and clears up my sinuses . But basically I just want a cup of good coffee to start the day. Love, ma

DeleteI hope you get to that coffeeshop with your friend! Sounds like a good one! On that menu, I think I would pick a Gracie to drink. They all sound good though! I'm a dark roast coffee girl with a little bit of flavored cream in it myself. I too am not a tea drinker though will drink uncaffeinated ones in winter to get warm :) Now with the weather warming up here we should be drinking iced coffee and iced tea, lol :)

DeleteWe have coffee most mornings. I buy the coffee, usually a dark roast, cheapest price. I wouldn't know good coffee. I am still a sailor at heart anything dark, strong and black. Sherry knows OLD coffee, I cannot tell. LOL She is the coffee person. We both drink it black. TEA? I drink some oriental coffee when we have oriental food out. At home I like Green tea. OR Southern iced sweet tea. ;-)

Well, I was never the Navy, but ya. While at work I used to go for the last cup of coffee that had been sitting on the burner 'til it grew legs. LOL.

ReplyDeleteI'm a hardcore tea addict - hot or iced. Couldn't exist without it. I like hot tea best with sugar and evaporated milk.
I also like coffee, but the prices are high....and my cravings for coffee aren't intense. Many of the brands I used to like have deteriorated in quality.
Do tea rooms still exist? Their popularity was at a peak around 1915. Lonely middle-aged women used to pay professional escorts to dance and drink tea at these popular places (no hanky-panky). Movie star Rudolph Valentino used to work at one of these tea houses before he was famous.
Sorry for being verbose - it's one of my charms.....
I don't know for sure, but I seriously doubt this place will be crowded or terribly pricey. I'd never be caught dead at a *$s.

Good answers, Mevely. Whether it's tea or coffee I mostly have it with milk. Also hot milk chocolate. But don't forget the biscuits or cookies.
ReplyDeleteBy the way: phoned Fr Francis. He said the choice between the Nicene Creed and the Apostles' Creed is made depending on the length of the Mass. If it's too long (Christmas/Easter) they recite the shorter Apostles' Creed.

DeleteI love french roast...My daughter works for a coffee shop and I've enjoyed their K-cups. Loved your photos. We live in a small town and we have quite a few coffee shops, but it's nothing for us to drive 20ish miles to go to a coffee shop in the city.
ReplyDeleteI love coffee and tea. My sweetheart love the New Mexico Pinon coffee so even though it went up $5 for a 5 lb. bag of whole beans we still get it. I am not sure when all the dust is going to storm up so we enjoy what we can while we can. Oneday we may just have to have the memories.....I love a good teahouse. A good coffee house too . Ziggi's is a cute place with a roaring fire in the winter and lots of wonderful choices. They have a drive up shop nearby. We have not been there as we usually have our coffee and tea at home. If I buy one more box, canister or package of tea, Rebekah might take me to long term therapy. hahahaha But I Have a great recipe for blueberry tea iced with sparkling water and lemon. Going to try it since I have everything but the sparkling water. I am easy to please. Plus after noting that Olive Garden charged us $4.49 for a glass of iced peach tea, I am on a mission to perfect that iced delightful tea too. ;-)
