Cheeseburger in Paradise

Happy to join with Crazy Sam and friends
for another edition of Saturday 9!

In this song, Jimmy briefly attemps a healthier diet, which included sunflower seeds, carrot juice, zucchini, and bulgerwheat.  Do you pay attention to your daily consumption of vitamins, minerals, dietary fiber, etc.?
Not like I should ... just sodium and carbs.
(15 pounds shed so far!)

Jimmy sings that he'd like french fries with his burger.  Do you prefer to dip your fires or drizzle the ketsup over them?
Not a fan, really.  Back in the day, I'd dip them in mayo.

Which cheese would make yours a cheeseburger in paradise:  American, cheddar, Swiss, bleu, Muenster,or Monterrey Jack?
Bleu!

Buffett fans call themselves Parrotheads.  Concert attire for a well-dressed Parrothead often includes a Hawaiian shirt and a foam fin hat.  What will you be wearing tonight?
My usual -- grey leggings and an oversize 't'

For someone with such an easygoing and laidback vibe, Jimmy is  very busy man.  His business ventures include liquors, restaurants, and hotels.  He's also published eight books.  All this in addition to making music!  On a scale of 1 to 10 -- with 1 beign lazy and 10 being highly motivated -- how would you rate yourself this morning?
8?
We've friends coming for lunch/supper -- so in a few I'm going to put on a Mississippi pot roast, do Tom's infusion, and vacuum.

Jimmy has some very famous fans.  Paul McCartney asked him to play at one of his parties, and Barack Obama invited him to perform at a fundraiser.  If you could invite anyone -- anyone at all! -- to play at your party, who would you ask?
What sort of party?

If it's the sort my friend Sue put on a couple week's ago (not happening!) I'd go with Willie Nelson.

A quiet dinner party?
I could listen to Julio Iglacious all night long!

Jimmy was born on Christmas Day. Does your birthday fall on a major holiday?
Are Irish music and green beer indicative of a major holiday?

In 1978, the year this song was popular, the Susan B. Anthony Dollar was first minted.  The initial design was not a hit with the public because vending machines could not accept it.  What's the last thing you bought from a vending machine?
Coca-Cola and crackers (for Tom) at the hospital.

Random question:  If today's your birthday, your zodiac sign is Libra.  When did you last check your horoscope?
1983? 🤣

As ever, thanks to 'Crazy Sam' for hosting.

Thanks for visiting!  Please come again!

  1. Julio! I have been trying to remember his name! There's a Bosox player named Jose Iglesias, and whenever I hear about him, I fleetingly wonder if his parents named him after the singer ... and then I say, "No, the singer isn't Jose, what is his name?" And then I get distracted and forget to look it up until the next time I hear about Jose Iglesias ...

  2. Mayo! I just wrote about that on another blog. Belgian frites with garlic mayo. Yum.

  3. I like your answers. Very difficult to choose party guest(s). Roy Orbison, Beatles, many country singers ... Blue cheese, Swiss, cheddar ... ketchup and fries, salt and vinegar with fried fish.

This was a difficult test for me, Mevely. Good luck with the vacuuming. Here we only vacuum when there's sports on TV !!!!!!!!

    God bless.

  4. Ha ha on your green holdiay comment, mine is Labor day and I never labor. About the party, bob would choose Willie Nelson and I would like him fine, but if it was MY party it would be Harrison Ford, even in his old age and I doubt he can sing, but who cares. I love fries dipped in castup, american cheese on a cheese burger and now I pay the price for days if i eat a cheese burger and fries.

  5. I like my cheese burgers with American cheese. Although others are also good. Cheese is a must on my burgers. I'll use whatever I have on hand. Your pot roast also sounds very good. It's nice to be able to turn the oven on again, although I often do mine in the slow cooker. Always good any time of year for sure. Enjoy your weekend! It's a beautiful day here.

    1. I do it in my slow cooker, too! Love that old unassuming appliance.

  6. In my opinion, French fries need to be dipped in a combination of ketchup and mustard, and I would probably leave the cheese off the burger.

  7. Yeah, I’d say green beer and Irish music is a holiday …

  8. I like cheddar cheese on the burger. I always enjoy your answers. My problems with singers to invite, I don't know who is still alive. Loretta L,if she is still around.
I seldom eat fries, if I do they require ketchup.
I do enjoy Julio Iglacious, doesn't everyone?
The best to you and we enjoyed the visit.
Sherry & jack, just laid back (today)

  9. I might dip my fries in ranch dressing, but usually eat them plain. It was always cheddar but now I like American. That's how I've been dressing too!

    1. Tom always chooses American, too. Have you noticed it (the REAL stuff) is getting harder to find?

  10. Cheeseburger in paradise?
Heck I had a burrito from hell when I was in Mexico. I think I'm still recovering from it....

I like to dip my fries in mayo or salad dressing (Ranch), but sometimes I'll indulge in ketchup (spelling???).

I'll take cheddar cheese with bacon or Swiss with mushrooms.
I haven't consorted with a vending machine in 20 or 30 years, at least.

Sorry - I'm not a fan of Buffett or Iglacious.

    2. No need to be sorry, Jon. Just s'long as you don't go spreading rap or hip-hop. (LOL) Love Swiss w/ mushrooms, too!

  11. I really should wear my leggings on the weekend. I just hate wearing tight clothes (I hate how I look). I love how comfortable they are though. Loved your answers! Have a nice weekend.

  12. Please invite me to the dinner party with Julio! I just read a recipe for the Mississippi Pot Roast! It sounds delicious. Do you use the peppers, too? Yum! Happy weekend, Myra! xo

    1. Consider yourself invited, Terri! Yep, I plucked 7 of those peppers off the top and served them in a separate little bowl, alongside the roast.

  15. Good going on the diet! Amazing!
I never thought about what kind of party and matching the music to it, but yeah, you kind of have to match your audience/event.
    You're a St. Patrick's Day baby? Cool.

  16. Your outfit sounds a lot like mine, except my pants are a little more loose fitting knit capris. comfort is the name of the game to me. Lately I'm looking for my flannel shirt to wrap around me, but only indoors right now. It's still too warm outside. LOL. Mississippi Pot roast? I must look that up. Cheeseburgers...I like swiss cheese or colby/jack. FF...ketchup, although if there is BBQ sauce available, that's good too. Not so familiar with the music choices but it sounds like a fun party. And now I'll have to remember to wish you a Happy Birthday while wearing "the green". Have a blessed and wonderful day. Always fun to visit here.

    1. Yes! I love these first few days of Autumn when we can transition from short sleeves to flannel! Best thing about the roast? I can set it (only 5 ingredients) and forget it!

  17. I'm such a fan of Jimmy Buffet, Myra. I do love me some cheeseburgers from time to time, but you can hold the fries. My go-to clothes are jeans and casual shirts. Just can't get me fancied up!
    Blessings!
