What a week it's been! Tonight I'm --
Thankful
... for a good visit with my cardiologist. I was a bit surprised when his nurse asked if I'd been vaxxed and then asked to see my card. Anyway! He said I should only come back in the event I feel it's necessary.
Thankful, too, for a sharp-eyed scheduler at Russell Medical. Tom and I had plans to drive over to Alex City tomorrow morning to see a new pulmonologist.
It never crossed my mind why they were asking us for the names of the hospital and the doctor who performed Tom's biopsy back in 2013... just chalked it up to everybody wanting to know every little thing. 2021.
Then, all of a sudden, Friday morning she called. "Um, I see here the VA referral says Pulmonology - but we're Oncology."
I hate having to wade through the Veteran's Community Care network, but lo and behold! Friday at 4:55PM we were connected to live person! She soon discovered the error and promised to call us tomorrow with a new authorization.
I missed National Leftie Day, but --
I discovered a new favorite thing!
Since the time I learned to hold a pen, it's been a struggle not to smear my letters; to keep the side of my hand free of ink.
Then along came Zebra!
See where I circled above?
"Leftie friendly"
Might be a great stocking stuffer for the southpaw in your life!

If anyone has a novel idea what to do with my unused contact lens?
It's illegal to resell them on eBay, but neither do I want to throw them away.
A wee jacuzzi spa for a wee doll's house?
Okay, bad idea. But how about this?!
I don't plan to paint anymore, but thought this was genius.

Our ladies Bible group won't be starting a new study until next week. So, tomorrow we're watching a movie and enjoying brunch.
I signed up to bring these antipasto skewers.
So while y'all are enjoying your first cup of coffee, please cross your fingers I don't mess it up!

Regarding your unused contact lenses. They can be used as magnifying glasses for bees or wasps. These insects are particularly short-sighted and it is very difficult to construct spectacles for them because they have no ears. Contact lenses placed in their nests, (or beehive), can be shared by the whole swarm.
It is so difficult being left-handed, especially when so many things are made for right-handed people. For example, why is it the tea cup always has the handle on the right?

Glad the visit with the cardiologist went well and glad that the scheduler caught the error with which doctor to see to save you an unnecessary trip.
Cool pen especially for the lefties out there! I did mention Christmas to hubby yesterday when we were in Wal-Mart and saw Halloween already up. I said pretty soon they'll be advertising for layaway and then said we're going to keep Christmas simple this year like last year. This year is flying!

DeleteOh, you'd have been RFLAO if you could have seen me putting together the skewers this morning: I marinated the tortellini + artichoke hearts too long and they were SO slippery. Should have done a dress rehearsal last week. Oh well!
Lions clubs collect eye glasses to give away, I wonder if they would accept new contact lenses. You could call, perhaps they could suggest a place. I am a southpaw, clever idea for a pen.

Hey there Kurious! Last Spring my eye doc discovered scarring on my left retina and said in no uncertain terms to STOP using contacts immediately. These were left-overs.

DeleteFun stuff always here. Glad the dr. appt. got figured out, or is being figured out. Gosh, we have to always be on our toes, don't we? I like the switchplate paint info idea. Not that I plan to do any painting, but you never know. The skewers look great. I wish I was clever like that. Oh, I am a lefty! I missed the day too, however. Are you a lefty too? I knew we were clones in some way. LOL. I must have that pen. LOL. Not sure why it's better...I don't write backhanded like many lefty's do. But then again, I rarely hand write anything anymore if I can help it. Handwriting has really suffered over the years of keyboarding so much. Sad. It used to be really pretty too. Oh well, they don't even teach cursive in school anymore. So I guess it just doesn't matter. OK, I'm tired so I will say good night, sleep tight, and you know the rest...

DeleteI am a lefty! Oroud of it too! My mom did everything left handed except write. The Catholic nuns beat it out of her. Not me, I puked on them! My mom was a terrific bowler. Both of my brothers are left handed too. Dad and sisters were and are all right handed. Those skewers YUM YUM YUM! Glad you had someone paying attention and caught that error. Cardoigist visit was good for you. Prayers answered. You kids take care. HUGS and LOVE
