Yes! I love discovering treasure I didn't know I needed. Most recently, we scored plant holders for the sun room.
Something you had second thoughts about after committing to, purchasing or posting/commenting online?
Following the example of friends from church, I became a charter member of the Millbrook Lions Club. So far it appears little more than a networking venue -- which I was never good at, even back in the day. 'Visualizing myself the 'designated clapper' ..... lol.
What's a product or service you use that you'd rate as second to none?
Hatch Green Chile ... it's the Real Deal!
You can take the girl out of New Mexico but she's not likely to forget its subtle-but-distinctive burn.

My mama grew up in New Mexico and likes the Hatch chilies too. We grew some super hot red chilies and a jalapeño-like chilie this year. We have enjoyed them, pickled the jalapeño and dried the super hots. We like spicy here.

DeleteIn the UK the Lions are a charitable organisation. Every Christmas they have a large sleigh with Father Christmas going down all the streets collecting money. Are your Lions a similar organisation?

Whatever's right! Should you decide to try the Hatch, be careful -- there's lots of fraudulent products purporting to be "Hatch." (And that canned stuff in the grocery stores, is awful.)
Deletethe only time i go to a thrift store is when I need a certain item. and the good news is, i almost always find just what i need. Bob needed a bag to take to the Y with his towel and shampoor, even at WM they were 20 and up. i found the perfect one for 3.00 at the thrift. I love to use the stores but not browsing, because i am not a collector and only shop for needs. No spices for the two of us, we only use garlic or onions to cook with, salt very little and pepper and garlic salt on meat. neighter of us eat anything hot. neither of use like herbs, we once through out the stuffing bob made because i bought stuffing mix herbal . sage and basil and oregano is a big no. yep, i am rattling on.
ReplyDeletei am good at talking if that counts for something i do without thinking first. ha ha I am really good with working in computers because I work ahead of the mouse, i move the cursor where I know the next thing will come up before it does.

DeleteCute plant holders!! I just bought 4 little succulent plants to put in my kitchen window. They are the only live plants in my house. I'll see if I can keep them alive. lol

DeleteVery cute with the 2nd hand stuff today. I love 2nd hand stores and frequent them when I can. I used to buy a lot of clothes there. They were new to me and was a cheap way to increase my wardrobe. Now I'm staying in more so don't get out as much and my shopping less and less. I'm saving for one spree when this is all over. One thing I find myself doing is saying a prayer when I hear an ambulance. This started shortly after I lost DDH due to a sudden heart attack. Still do it . Take care and have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteYep! When I was working, probably 90% of my wardrobe came from 2nd-hand stores in the ritzy part of town. Love the idea of saying a prayer for those in an ambulance. I'm going to begin doing the same!
DeleteThe plant holders are a fun find. I'm going to be on the lookout for some for my back deck as I have surprised myself and kept some plants alive since spring. Next spring I want to have some more. :)

Y'all like Mexican food, don't you? Arriba's is famous for using Hatch in their dishes. If memory serves, there's little pepper icons on their menu denoting just how 'hot' the dish.

The word Sandia, just brings back to my mind Albuquerque, NM.
I enjoyed the read even at 60 mph and trying to type. LOL
We do enjoy a little HOT in our food, but not HHHHOT, LOL
We are now less than 60 miles from home base and 4 miles from a town we did live in once. This is North CArolina green and humid.
