This week's featured artist, Tiffany, appeared on the TV talent show Star Search when she was just 14. She came in second. Though she was disappointed, she admits she learned from it. She studied the singer who won and says it made her a better performer. Can you recall a time when you weathered a tough time and came through stronger?

Unfortunately, not so much.

A little, yes.
I don't make a point of watching, but if Tom has NASCAR on I usually stop what I'm doing. Both the drivers and fans' display of patriotism is always inspiring.
Random question: Do you find it easy to sit still, or are you fidgety?
Sitting still's never been a problem.
It's just the trying to get-up-without-wincing part I find challenging.

the only time I am not fidgety, is when I am reading a book. even watching TV or a movie I am constantly moving, while sitting I tap my finger tips together, I constanly change positons. I get up at least 4 or more times in one 2 hour movie.
ReplyDeletethat answer quite a few of the questions. I don't go to concerts or movie theaters. I prefer to watch my movies alone or with bob. even then I just want him to stop asking questions. I love NASCAR and RACING but only because if he has that to watch I CAN READ MY BOOK.. he is on my last never with all racing and sports and tennis canceled. all sports give me alone time. HELP

DeleteI'm not a fidgety person, and like you, Myra, I've never liked crowds. Somehow, they make me feel more claustrophobic than simply being in my own home. And who the heck is Tiffany??? Lol!

DeleteLoved my Alaska cruise, too. Lots of fun and fabulous scenery. My dream is to go north and see the Northern Provinces of Canada. Of course, staying put right now. :)

ReplyDeleteOnly attended one open air concert - Barry Manillow. And that was to take someone else who was a great fan. He was either too small or far away. Can't remember which. We watched him on a big screen, and also on other smaller screens dotted all over the field. I found it difficult going to sleep! At least I can do so when watching singers on TV. (Disclaimer - this last comment does NOT apply to Manillow. I liked his songs. It applies to other singers).

Barry Manilow was the last concert I attended (2015). Way back when, a tune called "Mandy" exploded to the top of the charts - and I fell head-over-teakettle.
DeleteWith each successive hit, I was convinced he 'got' me. Never mind there was a legion of folks who felt the same way! LOL.
Memories are Made of This, by Dean. I remember being excited about my first deployment. But once on it, I missed Sherry so much. I learned a lot about being away from her. It hurt ever time, but I knew the time would end and I would have her forever.

I was a fan of NASCAR in years past. I owned a Roach Coach and serviced Holman/Moody, GAtorade and Race Hill farms in Charlotte. I watched the birth of NASCAR thru a wooden fence on a turn ans learned one could get killed by flying dirt clods. So I started climbing trees to watch.HAHAHAHA
Enjoyed the read hugs to Tom from a distance!!! I would love to hear that sax about now. ;-)

DeleteWe watched them all, the Jetson's the Flintstones and Lost in space too. I think I liked the Flintstones the best. I enjoyed one 4th of July concert out doors and loved it much better than my only other concert performance up in nose bleed territory, so I d go with outdoors These days I'm trying to get out and wall when the weather cooperates. We have a sunny day here and in the 50's so it's not too hot or too cold out. Perfect way for me to stay fit. Hope you enjoy the weekend!

ReplyDeleteSometime I am cool as a cucumber and other times squirrel in traffic! I was raised on sitting still in Catholic school. I have come out of that cocoon. RESPECT my favorite Aretha song. She had quite a life. You should read up on her. Betty and Wilma were ahead of their time! But I did love the Jetson's! Goodness, too many cartoons still in my life hahahaha! Most Americans could take a real life lesson from NASCAR! We have got to stop giving our rights away like they are nothing. Loved concerts when I was young. Unsure I would go today although if George Strait made a comeback I might ...Oh goodness I have Tiffany music on my phone play list. One of a thousand I seriously have! My three VP shunt surgeries when Jeremy was a newborn, twice and once when he turned 1. I am stronger, tougher, braver. Also my lost baby Rachel Lee....made me realize doctors are not all compassionate or kind. Some are hateful and hate their jobs! I do not do well with the right to choose side. There are ways to prevent that stuff! My cousin Mike had a great idea but it is not printable here. I agree 100% and will share with you later, privately. Some folks might hate the idea. I worked with doctors for 32 years, even the low life insurance company ones. Not a worshipper of them. Isn't it their job to take care of their patients? Half of them do not want to be in the office? Do they think EMT's, police, Fire fighters, other essential personnel does in this troubling time? I don't believe they take the Hippocratic oath anymore. I worked and saw too much stuff that toughened me up all those years. Sigh....Be healthy!
