Whether or not I really want to go back to work. I expect to hear this week if there's actually a vacancy to be had ... but right now I'm hoping that lady will elect to stay. I'm going to feel so awful if Marietta asks me to come on board and I go letting her down. Dang!
Feeling
Amused! (#1 grand) Sarah and her beloved have just signed a lease on a little farm house, right down the road from her parents. When my DIL asked, would they continue sending their dog to daycare, Sarah responded she wasn't sure: "Money doesn't grow on trees, mom!"
(Feign shock: It doesn't?!?)
What's in the Kitchen
Leftovers, yum! We prepared Stacy's stuffed bell peppers yesterday (here's the link) -- but it took two slow cookers to fit everything!
Grateful for
The elderly parishioner at our church who uses horseshoe nails and gold wire to fashion little crosses. Color me delighted when Mr. Don pressed one into my hand after services!

Out my Window
It's dark … the humidity's closing in like a downy baby blanket. But this morning when I walked the dogs? Clear skies and 72 glorious degrees!
Enjoying
Living near(ish) my son and family. I can't get over it, really! Tom and I took son and Lois out to Firebirds on Friday night to celebrate their 26th wedding anniversary. (If you've a chance to go, their salmon and flash-fried spinach is to die for!)

I did a quick look at The Good widow and it does sound good. let me know if it gets better. we never miss AGT but only because there is nothing else to watch. we have been watching only this type show, we don't like any of what it on TV. envious of your 73, we wake up to 83 each morning.

DeleteI love the CURRENTLY version of doing a post. Says so much! It's like the older day book version that I used to see a lot of. Once I retired I loved having the extra time for family. I have some that live near by but it also freed me up to travel and be with those not so near too. I have never wanted to go back to work. I missed so much family time due to having to work. I've done crock pot stuffed peppers many times and love them. Doesn't heat the kitchen up either like turning on the oven does. And I absolutely love having leftovers! Hope the week ahead is a great one for you too !

DeleteGreat post. I can just imagine your Tom enjoying the talent on stage! He would be a good judge of it I'm sure. My Tom is on a stuffed pepper kick but I don't tire of them! Good eats. Love that cross and it's the perfect size. Now things coming to us like that mean the most, don't you think? Very creative too.

DeleteWhat a delightful post. I smiled at the first entry, waiting for the 'good' part of a book to kick in. I have to admit, I have skipped a few pages of fluff to get to the meat, and have had to go back and read what I skipped because a 'little something' was missing. I'm with MA now that I am retired I can't remember how I had time for work. hahaha Although most times my work was my fun part of the day!

ReplyDeleteI'll have to check out the Good Widow; I think I read a review of it and it sounded good. We joined Amazon Prime so I'm enjoying all the great books available from them! I think we have so far gotten the advantages of it with movies watched, books read, items bought with 2 day free shipping :)

ReplyDeleteHope you like it, too! We couldn't find the canned tomatoes with chili, but used the type containing basil and oregano. Hubby wants to add a little canned green chili next time.
