| A little pollen anyone? |
Whaddya say, let's put on a happy face and play the Hodgepodge. Thank you to Joyce for hosting this weekly get together! (For those new to the exercise, she asks .... we answer ..... and meet in the middle!)
⬇️
It's officially spring in the northern hemisphere. Does it feel like spring in your part of the world? If you're in the southern hemisphere it's officially autumn where you live. Does the weather say autumn? Which do you prefer -- spring or autumn? Why?
Yes. And no. Does the term 'weather whiplash' sound familiar?
I'd be telling a big fat fib if I said I'm looking forward to warmer weather. But what's one going to do? Those who know me understand I'm happiest when clad in oversize sweaters and boots.
And this!
What's your favorite thing about spring?
I had to think long and hard about this one
but I'm going with the abundance of fresh veggies.
Maybe a pot of yellow tulips.
Spring into action, spring in your step, spring to life, spring to one's feet ... which spring idiom currently applies to your life in some way.
Spring into action ...
starting at our Village Green's walking trail. I bought myself a new set of ear buds that aren't supposed to fall out. Hoping I can crank up my favorite tunes and keep semi-entertained while moving.
I love asparagus best but wouldn't say 'no' to any of the others. Except strawberries.
I'm curious to discover new and delicious ways to serve spinach.
What's one task on your spring cleaning list? Do you actually have a list?
I think I was born with a pen in one hand and ruled index card in the other. List-making isn't just practical, it's second nature.
Insert your own random thought here.
Thank y'all so much for your prayers and wishes re. my sweet Macie girl. She's tired -- but good natured and still loves to eat. (Anything except her dry dog food!)

love strawberries and asparagus, nothing else on that list.
ReplyDeletethe only salad I like is pasta salad.
I love our spring here, because its cold enough for a blanket at night and 80 in the afternoon.. perfect. I too hate summer heat, and love to get warm in a flannel gown. I can't sleep if I am hot, as in sweaty hot. I am also a habitual list maker, travel, the list is made a week before, groceries always a list, to do list, a different one each day
and when the routine list is blown asunder, I am a sundered with it.
forgot the one thing I despise about spring. POLLEN... the rest of our week pollen count is
Delete9.9 9.9 11 11 11 12 is the highest. oaks are raining yellow on us and when I go outside my eyes and nose drip off my chin
Right there with you, girlfriend!
DeleteOh yes! Weather whiplash sounds familiar. We're having a bit of that today, sunny and blue skies one minute and then grey skies and rain the next. The fresh fruit and veggies is a great thing about this time of year.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the hiking, I hope the new ear buds stay put.
Thank you, Kim!
DeleteI do enjoy spring, Myra, with the exception of warmer temps and the ubiquitous pollen. My black Skechers have a yellow coating! So much for looking spiffy - LOL! Have a day! :)
ReplyDeleteYou may be starting a fashion trend!
DeleteSpring is my favorite season of all! I love everything about it, especially strawberries! This season is when everything comes to life again, including me. I'm springing forward! Enjoy the walk and the new ear buds! Love, ma
ReplyDeleteI remember, Spring is your favorite! Seriously, I'm happy for you, Ma.
DeleteI had to laugh at your comment "Weather whiplash." But how true it is..I mean, this is the perfect definition of what the weather has been. One would think that we are now in Summer. Temps in the 90's is not Spring weather (in my opinion). The only way I know for sure that it is Spring is everything is coated in yellow pollen. I vote for you to keep wearing those comfortable clothes you like and just turn the air down to 65.. lol 😂
ReplyDeleteI'd like to take credit for that term -- but stole it from our local meteorologist. Too cute not to share!
DeleteYou have a day too, Myra.
ReplyDeleteI do really like Spring with all of the new growth ... NOT the weeds new growth!!!
It means lots of fresh fruits and veggies which I do look forward to.
I love strawberries and there is nothing like really fresh asparagas, yumm
Happy walking with your ear buds doing their thing..Hope your back is doing better and its good to see Macie giving us a smile.
Sue
Not those weeds, for sure!
DeleteI think March everywhere has weather whiplash. Such a tease, but as the month ends I think we're 100% spring now. I do love the fresh fruit and veggies coming our way in spring and summer. Enjoy your walks!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Joyce!
DeleteGood news about Macie. Hope she continues to improve,
ReplyDeleteToday (Spring) in the UK we had a sunny day, with high winds and hailstones at times. Then it rained. It's very cold and the heating is still on.
God bless.
From your lips to God's ears, my friend!
DeleteYes, we can't change the weather. The fresh veggies and tulips sound nice. Good for you doing the trail and having the new ear buds. So you don't like strawberries. Interesting. Saute the spinach and scrabble in some eggs. Way to go on making your lists. I will continue to pray for Macie. Have a nice day.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Debby.
DeleteNo, we definitely can't change the weather. The older I get, the hot air makes me miserable. I have always said when you are hot, there isn't much you can do about it, but when you are cold, you can always put sweaters or a hoodie on. I do love the fresh veggies coming soon. I need to invest in a new set of air pods to motivate me into walking more.
ReplyDeleteExactly! I say the same thing.
DeleteSpring is better than summer, especially when there’s no heat dome. I do not like hot weather. 😊❤️
ReplyDeleteMe, either!
DeleteI love scrambled eggs with chopped fresh spinach and thin slices of ham. Stir fry the spinach in a little butter, so it wilts, along with the ham, then pour in the eggs and scramble. My favorite breakfast!! I enjoyed your Hodgepodge, Myra. xo
ReplyDeleteI'm going to do this, Terri. Thanks! xo
DeleteWe are also having weather whiplash. I was about to remove the flannel sheets from the bed because I was hot and turning on the fan, but then another cold front blew in and I'm back to my extra blanket and socks. I do like to feel cozy, however...just not during the heat of the day. I love asparagus and strawberries and spinach and fresh green peas and salad greens. I eat spinach almost every day...in my salad, or cooked in an omelette or a cheese, spinach, chicken quesadilla. You can make spinach lasagna if you prefer it to meat...or pasta shells with a spinach and cheese filling and a marinara sauce over it. I've never made those myself, but my daughter in law in Maine used to do that a lot and it was so good. I'm glad Macie is doing better. Will keep her and all of you in my prayers. I enjoyed your post!!!
ReplyDeleteSuper ideas! Thank you, Pam!
DeleteBless your puppy. I do not like hot weather at all. Love fruits and veggies.
ReplyDeleteI am a list maker - I make one for every day and have for years.
👍List sisters!
DeleteI am a list maker extraordinaire! My husband makes fun of me because I ALWAYS have a list! Mark loves spinach so if you find some new recipes, please share.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I will!
DeleteEnjoyed your answers. The quote was fun.
