Cinematic soundtracks? That's a tie between Forest Gump and Sound of Music.
Drives me bananas, but lately I've two silly commercials stuck in my head.

ReplyDeleteI like your answers, Mevely. That first photo reminds me of the radio consoles we had in the studio when I was on the radio - two turntables, a jingle machine, tape recorders, microphones and a sound mixer.
I like your choice of 4 songs. "Why me Lord" is a favourite of mine played often on my Christian show "Time For Reflections".

The two people in the T Mobile ad were on a TV show called Scrubs over here. "Oh what a beautiful morning" I think is the tune they sing.

Thank you, Victor! Yes, that's the same song as that Fr. Frances is singing. A few years before he died, my father was listening and said to noone in particular, "I'd like this played at my funeral." When he passed unexpectedly, I asked my mother about it and she had had no idea. Our friends, Frank and Cindy, played that on Father's Day Sunday services; it's always been very special to me.

DeleteWOW, when you wrote: Our friends Frank and Cindy performed this at the conclusion of a funeral the other day, inviting everyone to sing along..... I had to smile thinking how sweet that was for the family to remember FOREVER! I would love to see that at a funeral.
ReplyDeleteI miss 'appreciating misic', Very seldom do I understand the words being sang, and many times in church I am on the wrong song or verse. ;-) BUT my Sherry lets me know.....

DeleteOh Wowie - - I had to laugh when you posted the Jardiance commercial because I absolutely HATE it. One of the people across the hall here in rehab has a TV blasting day and night. The channel that she watches plays this cursed commercial every 15 minutes (or so it seems). I hold my ears every time it comes on.

Deletethe only soundtrack i ever bought on a CD was Body guard with Whitney Houston. I played it every time I got in the car, that was back in the 90's. I also like the theme song from SkyFall, James bond movie.

DeleteYou came up with some great songs!! I will have to listen to the commercials so I can hear them for once. Hubby always mutes all the commercials so I never get to hear them! LOL. Just a closer walk with Thee is a great song, and I'm so glad you played it at your father's funeral. I am sure he was smiling down and singing it from heaven's gates, where we will be having a much closer walk with Jesus for eternity!! What a wonderful thought! Have a blessed day. And thank you for the hint about my washing machine. I am going to have to write another post about that as soon as the story is resolved...there's another chapter...keep watching! LOL.

DeleteIt was a very entertaining and interesting post. How nice to have a special song to remember your Dad. I love music and my favorite is country music. It seems all the songs tell us a story. Thanks for the laughs at the end with those two commercials. They do seem to play them a lot. But I don't go around with them playing in my head. Thank goodness! Love, ma
