Good morning,
This hasn't been a terribly exciting week, but I feel like visiting. What else am I feeling?
Motivated
(I started to put down, 'accomplished' -- but that's presuming everything's been crossed off the 'to do' list. Ha!)
No, I've begun purging the unnecessary. Some are going on eBay ... in order to treat myself to other unnecessaries.
These, for instance. I've been seeing young people walking about with what looks like a Tootsie Roll stick hanging out of their ears and was curious. The young man loading my groceries was probably amused ... but happy to show me his. Then, "They're only $19.95."
Annoyed
I told Tom, "If I ever mention getting a gel manicure again, will you kick me?"
Maybe I've been living under a rock, but who knew there's no getting them off with ordinary polish remover. Because I was too lazy to run up to the hardware store for acetone, I commenced to rasping and clipping and yes, even chewing. Wretched stuff, but it's 99% off.
Happy
I've not come across any smoking estate sale deals, but did find these melamine plates at Big Lots. It's not a big deal, but anytime I look in the dining room they make me smile.
Amused
... not at the other night's storm and resulting power outage. Rather, when I went to take a photo of the shadows cast by candlelight, I inadvertently captured my own (shadow).
This reminds me of Darth Vader!

We've been on the cool side, but it is to be heating up this week. I stay inside a lot when it is hot and humid outside. It's so nice to have whole house air conditioning. I've yet to run into a fingernail polish that I can't get off without using anything but regular remover. I love your new dishes. What a lovely table place settings for the summer. Enjoy plenty of nice meals on them! Love ma

ReplyDeleteI've never used eBay. How does one sell? Do you send the item to eBay to pass on to the buyer or do you do that yourself?

eBay's made things so easy! When listing something for sale, all one has to do is follow/fill in the prescribed details (ie, description, condition) and hit "List." When an item sells, eBay collects and distributes the proceeds directly into my bank account. Minus, of course, a small fee based on the value of goods sold. I certainly won't get rich, but it's fun 'pin' money.

the darth vader look is one I like. its beautiful and sunflowers are my favorite flowers. i did not know they still make melamine. they sure don't look like the old melamine I had. I like to have things that when I look at them, I feel good or happy. maybe iwill make a sunflower AI next time. that train is here and you can add sept to ours. 3 months of hellish weather, hot, humid and waiting for the hurrican watches to start. if i were rich, i would find myself a mountain top for 3 months. it has to be somewhere that has sunshine all day. let me know how the work out. i bought a cheap set at five belowand could never make them work. 3 dollars. i followed instructions. now Iwonder wehre hey are

DeleteAlthough I'll treat my toes to a nice pedicure now and then, I stopped getting manicures after I ruined one on the way to the car less than ten minutes after I paid for it.

DeleteI like your sunflower plates! Gosh, I haven't been in Big Lots since before Christmas. Need to do a jog through one of these days. Hobby Lobby too. Gel nails are great until it's time to change. Much easier to let them do it for you. Pure acetone can't be good for you. If I was going on a vacation I might go for a gel polish... but probably not. DeleteI love your sunflower dishes. I have some stoneware sunflower dishes that a friend gave me years ago when we moved to Kansas, The Sunflower state. We only stayed there 4 months and couldn't wait to leave, but I still have the dishes and use them every day for breakfast mostly or now even supper. They are made in China and look it, but who cares? They're sunflowers! LOL. Yes, it is very hot here too, but thankfully we are getting some rain again, which is cooling it off a little, even if it is still very humid. I don't know anything about gel manicures. I've never had a real manicure or pedicure. I need to have the latter really badly. I may have to splurge and do it before my toenails grow around and under my toes. LOL. ReplyDeleteLOL! I hear you on the pedi. So far, I'm still able to clip mine, but Tom's are so thick and grow so fast having a professional pedicure is practically a necessity.
