30 Days ...

"hath September, April ....."

Nope. Not going there.   I'm talking my 30-day recalibration challenge.  Think, someone possessed with a Paul Bunyon appetite -- but having the metabolism of an inchworm.

Since proteins are the foods I like best, this was relatively easy.  After the nasty cravings passed.  Even Tom, once he realized I was serious began plying me with yummy lunches.  Check out the size of the chicken breasts he grilled Sunday!

Yep, that's a standard size dinner plate.

As of this morning, I'm down 7.8 lbs.  (5 to go!)  I don't have a lot of hair.  But just in case?  Yesterday morning I asked my hair cutter to take off a 'bunch.'  Initially, she was reluctant but I insisted.  A little while later ...

Anyway.  My  clothes feel better.  I feel better.

Who's in the mood for a giggle?  You know, I love Hoda and Jenna.  I don't usually watch daytime television ... particularly the two hours of Today! preceeding their show.

But what's neat about these gals -- there's zero mention of politics. Nothing 'woke.'  They're real.  Relatable.

Especially Jenna Bush Hager.  Unlike her twin -- who always looks like she just stepped out of finishing school -- Jenna reminds me of the girl who's always up for a game of tag football.  In the mud.

Remember when someone caught her in the back of a Secret Service vehicle, sticking her tongue out at photographers?

Back to the giggles.  Okay. My sense of humor may be a bit wonky, but I thought some of you might find this relatable. The first part, anyway.   (Sorry, the little clipboard thingie isn't working.  Oh, and don't forget to hit the little 'unmute' button.)

How about you?  Would you weigh yourself on national television?

Hugs, Myra

  1. OH my! You look fabulous! I got a haircut this week too. Most of my permanent is gone and it looks kind of dumb for now, but it will grow. No, I wouldn't weigh myself on TV, unless I was being paid big bucks for it! I've gained too much weight this past year and I don't like it one bit. Just too sedentary I think, even tho we try to walk every day. Hope you have a great weekend.

    1. Thanks, girlie! No way I'd do that, either. I even stress about weighing at my doctor's office.

  2. I think Tom grilled you TURKEY Breast, that is one big dude.
We seldom watch TV, but I do admire the unconventional popular folk who do not have to play the game.
Enjoyed the read. I admire anyone who can lose weight. Losing weight is a challenge, I compare it to quitting smoking. And laugh at the old comment, "Quitting smoking is easy, shucks I have done it a hundred times!"
That is sorta like losing weight, I can lose a pound and gain it back in a day. LOL
Love you lady. Tom should grill him a squirrel or two!
    From NC,

  5. I like your haircut. And that chicken breast looks delicious. Come on ... one meal will not ruin a diet.

God bless you and Tom always.

  8. I did not recognize their names, but have seen them while Bob surfs channels. both of my doctors said fasting is not good. and frankly i think Hoda and Jenna look much better than the scrawny one in the black dress. What i want to know is I way only 2 pounds more than Hoda but look NO WHERE near as good as she does. and it is hard to believe Jenna weight 170. they look good to me. I love your haircut but that could be because it is much like MINE ha ha. wish mine was white like yours. it never will be. YAY for your weight loss and you are .8 more than mine. and yes i would weigh on TV, if i got paid to ha ha... i just looked up and saw Marthas prehistoric chicken, i was about to say are you sure that was not a turkey? but I like hers est. I think you look perfect! I have to say i did not know who Jenna is, I assume from reading this she must be a daughter of Bush. I live under a rock

    1. I totally agree about them looking better, like 'normal' women. Yep, when I saw myself in the mirror I thought 'now Sandra and I can be twins.'

  9. No, I would not weigh on National TV. I don't even like to do it in my own bathroom. lol But seriously, I love that they did it and I would never guess either one of them as being over 130 lbs. They are beautiful! Thanks for sharing.

  11. It's wonderful you are doing so well on your weight. or lack of it I should say. I've not lost any since winter and need more exercise. I wanted to answer your question about the air fryer. Yes, I often use it insteed of baking or frying. It does make for healthier eating too. Even my french frys are done it it now. Hope you have a wonderful 4th of July weekend.

    1. Thanks, Ma! Tom loves french fries, but I don't think it occured to either of us to try some in our air fryer. Good idea.
