Gotta say, I'm so thankful for your prayers and well-wishes!
Everything went better than expected ... and in fact, the doc told me I could throw away my Rx (beta blocker); he doesn't need to see me for another year. The worst part was having to keep my wrist immobilized for 24 hours (Their advice? "Pretend it's broken.").
Everyone was super nice, and when they wheeled me back to recovery someone brought me coffee + snacks: Wheat Chex, Cheez-Its and peanut butter crackers. Not sure I was supposed to eat all 3, but wanted to be a good guest. LOL.

I think everyone's familiar with the Emoji make-your-own-Avatar software? Crazy how I struggled unsuccessfully to tweak mine into a reasonable likeness. Then Sandra told me about something called "Mirror Avatar." I downloaded the app on my cell phone, took a selfie ... and viola!

Maybe you're already doing this, but I wanted to share a hack (formerly known as Hints from Heloise).
When, last week I showed someone where I kept my lab results and insurance authorization she said, "What a great idea! You need to share that!"
It all started when I got tired of carrying around every John Doe's business card - and snapped a picture with my cell phone. Everyone's different, yes. But I'm all about, the less paperwork, the better.
Pretty sure there's lots more I could prattle about, but it's been a looong day and there's a bottle of wine with my name on it!
Sleep well ... and (do your best to) stay safe!

Oh sweet lady, love the good news. Strange advice, but probably will work. Funny that but I am lost in the new technology, but I have to admit with carrying a 'thousand' cards around, I will try to work on that GOOD advice. Thanks. Love from Northern California and headed south.

Thank goodness all turned out to be ok.Nice at least to know. Cute avatar! There are so many new things out there to try and I like your idea of taking pictures so you have all that info readily available. I guess I should do all that too. Paperwork is the bane of life for sure.Hope you have a great week ahead!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad everything turned out ok. Been keeping you in prayer, friend. We learned a harsh lesson when the EF 5 tornado came through Tuscaloosa all those years ago...and now, we keep photo copies and important documents in a zip locked bag in the safe, smiles.

I am doing a happy dance that you can throw away your beta blocker! And now please send me an email and tell me why you had to pretend to your wrist was broken because when Bob had that test done at had nothing to do with his wrist at all! Glad the test is over and you survived it and are doing so well. I have never carried my lab results or anything like that with me but I do take a picture of things like my insurance card you know the one you have to show the cop when he pulls you over to prove you have insurance it's in there and my phone. Of course I carry the one in the glove compartment but I do have it on my phone. Now that you've given me the the idea I may take a picture of our cards so we can prove we have insurance if we ever need to. Great idea. Still trying to think of a name for your Avatar I did not think of naming mine.

ReplyDeleteMy brother had catheters in his groin/upper vein, also had to keep still for 24 hours. He was considered an outpatient (23 hours).
I'm so happy to hear that all is well. I have yet to try doing an Avatar. Take care!!
